I think we'd find a buyer pretty quick because after all Owen is world class but the biggest stumbling block would be his wages.

He's technically good, but won't get you that many goals. Disagree, If he is given a run of games im certain he'll get 12+ goals a season and on top of that he'll create a hell of a lot more.

That what i see as well, Gudjohnsen is a totally different player to anything we have, How many times over the past few months have we needed a player of his type who can create a piece of magic when its needed. TBH i think we need to start thinking about life without Owen, IMO as soon as he is fit we need to cut our losses and sell him on, Use the money to buy a replacement who has his career in front of him and a player who we can rely on. As good as Owen is we'll never be able to reply on him because he'll always be prone to an injury.

Yea Saviola has been outstanding over the past month but when Messi and Etoo are back i can see Gudjohnsen losing his place on the bench, I'd have Gudjohnsen here but for no more than £5m. I think we lack creative players and Gudjohnsen is very creative and is good in the link up play.

Normally i would agree that he wouldnt be interested but if he aint playing and hasnt settled i think we might be in with a chance.

Hasnt settled in Spain and atm is struggling to make the bench. Etoo is back next month and Saviola is in fantastic form so there are rumours that Gudjohnson could be on his way in the Summer, So would people want him here or do you think we need a different type of player? He wont be sold in Jan but probably in the Summer.

Before he came we were a mid-table team, He soon got us into a top 4 team and now he's gone we are a mid-table team again. He was a great manager for us and we have some fantastic european memories because of him but he's not a legend because he always stumbled at the last hurdle

Maybe you can start by explaining why you believe your defensive unit is so strong when you've been able to play pretty much your first choice defense for the vast majority of the season and have conceded the same number of goals in the league as our injury-ravaged makeshift one? I'm not saying we have not conceeded this season, i am basing my judgement on what we could have conceeded at stages. We have conceeded in alot of games this season for some reason or another (alot of long rangers, maybe from where we are missing carrick) but last season the same central partnership was immense. I don;t think that fgorm was temporary and tose two do have true class. Ledley has been injured and playing at 80% for quite a few matches. Althogh davenport has done enough he definately weakens and makes for a nervous defence at times. Obviously your defence is also unsettled but looking at the two defences on paper i do think we have the better defence Paper defences dont stop goals. We've had games (at least 5-6) were we've had a back four consisting of midfeilders and youth players, so stop with the king at 80% shite, its pathetic. did i not mention that your defence has been injured? yes it has been very hard for you But that does not take away anything from kings injuries basically whose central defence would you rather have? I think he's talking profit on top of the fee paid. If so Liverpool will never make a profit on Bellamy imo. £5m profit on Reina, They paid about £8m for him and tbf he hasnt exactly been out standing for Pool. Bellamy has been terrible so i agree they wouldnt make anything on him. Kuyt has done anything to justify a £3m profit.

I'm no Liverpool apologist but I think the answer to that question is yes. He (Benitez) would make a comfortable profit on:- Bellamy (£3m) Alonso (£5m) Sissoko (£8m) Aurelio (£1m) Kuyt (£3m) Agger (£5m) Reina (£5m) Palletta (£1m) The figures are off the top of my head but, in principal if you take into account his Champions League win, you can't say Benitez hasn't been a good appointment. Certainly compared to Souness, appointed a few months later by us, he is. Fred's (on the verge of the boot) biggest failure IMO. They (Pool) appointed a sought after Manager at the time and we appointed Souness (on the verge of the boot) as Gaffer. They got the above and we got Babayaro, Luque, Parker, Boumsong and Co.
