Jesus Wept tbh. He speaks perfect sense. How is getting Diarra on loan gonna remove expierenced players such as Butt, Parker or Emre? If we get him it will be as a back up player, Fact is we have no money and a small squad yet people are moaning about a potential loan deal. Call Newcastle a feeder club because we have 2 loan deals is way over the top, Its a simple case of cutting your nose off to spite your face. I honestly dont know what people want, When we dont get any loan deals im pretty sure people was moaning because we dont take advantage of loan deals yet now when we are linked with a loan deal people moan and accuse us of being a feeder club.

I think it would be a better deal if we were spending £5m on him, then he could gradually takeover from Butt and we'd actually be gaining something long-term from giving him chances in the first team. I see no value in taking a young player on loan as cover, look what happened with Rossi. The problem is we have a small squad which has a lot of injuries and it seems as thou we have little money, We need a LB,CB and ST before we even concider a midfielder so a loan deal for the short term would be good. I dont care what happend to Rossi, We cant think all loan deals will be the same out come. Yea in the ideal world we would have a young player learning his trade as a DM being prepared to take over from Butt but as it is we dont have that player nor do we currently have the funds to go out a acquire that player. With not much money available we need to take advantage of loan deals because with such a small squad and us playing so many games im pretty certain that a few of our players will get fatigued towards the end of the season.

Why are people moaning? Its only a loan deal and for those who are saying "Yea but we have Butt" what happens if he gets injured? If we were about to blow £5m on him then yea i'd be moaning aswell but we wont be spending money on him and i expect his wages wouldnt be to much.

Ive only seen him play once and that was for Wales so i cant really comment on how good he is but i'll be disappointed if we spend £6m+ on him, TBH i want to see us going for a proven LB because we aint just gambling £6m+ we are gambling on the LB position because we dont have a LB to fall back on. If we had a good LB like Wayne Bridge then i'd be over the moon to see us getting young players in and showing signs of preparing for the future but as it is all i wanna see us doing is stablising and getting the team balanced, then when we have a good solid 1st team we should take gambles.

Im gonna be honest and say i still have a few doubts but over the past few weeks ive been very impressed, January is gonna be an important month for Roeder because he needs to buy a few players and i dont want to see any fucking about about like we did in the Summer.
