Sad but true. Don't think people realise just how close we were to actually signing him. TBH i dont know how close we were but i do know Rooney was keen until Manu came in and as soon as i seen the yellow info bar come up on SSN about Manu bidding for Rooney i knew we had no chance. FS had nothing at all to gain from bidding for Rooney with no intent, What would happen if Everton excepted? It would all back-fire on FS and i expect there is some rule where Everton could of sued us for unsettle or something.

I wasnt embaressed at all, I think it was genuine and i was gutted when we didnt get him. Newcastle try to get one of the best young players around and instead of fans being excited they are embaressed. What a unique club this is

Amazing how many people backing Bellamy by saying he loved us seem to forget this quote from when we bid for Rooney. we'd just signed a striker a few weeks earlier (kluivert) and bellamy knew there was another striker at the club who was literally undroppable. in that context he said "I love playing for Newcastle and I love everything about the club, but if Wayne Rooney comes, I will have to review my position because I am not sitting on the bench anywhere. "I like Wayne Rooney a lot because he is a great player. He is my sort of player and it would be great for the club, but no good for Craig Bellamy. "If he does come, I will have to consider my position." Were you posting that in support of Bellamy, because I'm sorry, but that still makes him look like a prick IMO. "Sign one of the best players in the world eh? Well not if you want me to stay at the club you won't." what do you expect him to say? that he wants to stay and spend the next few years on the bench? had rooney arrived then he and shearer would be guaranteed a place in the team and bellamy knew that he'd have absolutely zero chance of breaking into the first team. maybe he should've kept his mouth shut and engineered a move behind the scenes, but instead he spoke his mind. if he is guilty of anything it is being too honest and speaking in the heat of the moment right after a match. here's what he said when he'd cooled down: "Every Newcastle United supporter knows just how committed I am to the club. I absolutely love playing here and there is no way I am going to ask for a transfer, whether Wayne Rooney comes or not." "I don't know if it's true that the club have made a bid for Rooney or not, but if he does join Newcastle I think one of the four current attackers will be forced to leave." - damn, there's shola causing trouble too! So Bellamy wasnt even gonna try and fight for his place. tut tut tut I agree he should have kept quiet for once and proved he was good enough So does that mean you think Bellamy is better than Rooney?

Wouldnt suprise me a few people on here would have Bellamy before Rooney.

Hope so but they only have 1 striker now in Crouch with Cisse on his way to Marseille apparently so they need to buy and there chairman always comes up with moeny for them. Did I miss Morientes retiring or moving on somewhere else? Signed for Valencia i think. Definatly gone thou. Cisse aint going to Marseille, Why the F*ck would Marseille buy a player who has just broke his leg? Theres no guarantee Cisse will recover from it. If Marseille wait then surely this recent break will devalue Cisse even more.

What do you class Fowler as? Midfielder? As someone just said Rafa was saying that he needed the Cisse money for transfers, I cant see them bidding £10m for Kuyt after they just paid £6m for Bellamy, Alves will cost them atleast £10m aswell.

Cardiff is worse than that. I dont live there but i live close and have mates who live there. Newcastle aint the party capital. Blackpool is 10x worse than Newcastle Christ, if we ended up like Blackpool I'd fucking emmigrate. It sounds like your unhappy as it is, Why not move?

Agreed, its pathetic that fans are expecting a 10mill player who scored in his last outing to be put on the bench at least ahead of players we know for a fact arent good enough for Premiership football in a must win game against mediocre opposition. He's played more games than Chopra and has scored the same and has less assists. Price shouldnt have anything to do with it!!! If he aint proving himself in Training then he shouldnt get a game. Luque aint Proven in the Premiership yet either -

Good Post. I just cant understand some of the comments from the past 2 games !!! Fair enough if Roeder aint there first choice but to rip into him everytime we dont play Luque is very sad. I get the feeling that some people would have us lose a few games so they'd have some Ammo!!! Roeder is the reason we are in 6th place and people need to remember that!!! Very hard to please some people -

Seriously that's a fucking joke Agreed, for us to miss out on Mon or Hitzield or any big name manager because FF is so obsessed with his notion of giving Shearer the job is just insane. This could set the club back about 5-10 years. How do you know FS didnt contact Hitzfeld or Oneill but they turned it down? I find it quite funny really, When ever we are linked with someone there is always a group of posters who are dead against it. Find it funny? I suppose if you don’t laugh you’ll f****** cry! This looks more than "being linked". Cry? I got nothing to cry about. Roeder has done a good job since he's been there and all of the players are listening and a few are improving. We have had big name managers in the past and everyone of them won F*ck all, KK came the closest and my Favourate Newcastle manager and he was inexperienced and i bet if N-O was around then alot of people would be moaning when we appointed him.
