I don't care about the cup this year, much more important to beat West Ham the week after!!! i'd rest a few players, they will also make loads of changes. Colo has played virtually every game and i'd rest him along with Shay, Jonas, Owen. my team would be... HARPER EDGAR TAYLOR BASSONG KADAR LUA LUA GEREMI GUTHRIE N'ZOGBIA CARROLL XISCO

don't know if Keith was the one with it today but it was Keith who brought the banner to the Hull game and carried it round the stadium
-
I dont normally post on here but to say play Lua Lua in Centre Midfield is absolute stupid.... 1 - He is no Centre Midfielder 2 - If he was who would sit and defend? He is a winger through and through, prob (and I have only seen him in training and playing for the reserves) a winger with no end product like Zog and Jonas.... before u speak think in future PIL(O)K yes got to agree, i was a bit shocked when i saw the line up with Kaz in centre midfield, in all the reserve and youth cup games i've seen he hasn't played as a centre midfielder, he's sometimes played off the striker but normally plays out wide. There's been plenty times whilst i've been watching that i think he should go central as he does make things happen but don't think you could throw him into a PL as a CM.

The cockney mafia out banner is Keith Barratts not the NUSC's.

is duff going to play on the left today???? he's gone walkabout all game and done sod all.....if he was doing something then you could understand it!!
-
Godsmark isn't good enough, too small and lightweight, think he'll be shipped out at the end of the season, not sure about Donaldson, he needs to find a settled position!! He was a striker, even playing centre forward for england, moved into midfield in the reserves mid way thru last season and looked quite good, he started at centre half on Saturday and was back in midfield tonight where he was steady without doing anything that stood out!! I was impressed again tonight with Inman in midfield, Tavernier at centre half and Ferguson done well at left back.
-
i got told today that Kazenga was meant to be on the bench last week against Stoke but when Xisco passed a fitness test on Saturday morning JFK put him on instead of Lua Lua. Took his goals brilliantly today, cut in from the left and smashed a 25 yarder into the bottom corner then raced onto Ranger flick on, good control, held off the defender, rounded the keeper and slotted into the empty net. NUFC played some good stuff in the first half, Ranger had a bit of a mare in front of goal, should've had a hat trick inside the first 8 mins!! Had a header disallowed for offside, don't think he was tho, in the 2nd half just before we scored the winner.

i'm looking forward to tonight, hopefully we'll see plenty of goals, team is on a great run and we've got a really attacking line up. Only got one proper defender in Henderson, Airey at right back has been converted from centre forward, was impressive at right back in the reserve game against Liverpool, ferguson is normally a winger and when i've seen tavenier this season in the reserve side he has impressed playing in midfield and right back!
-
If a NUFC manager came out with something like that in the build up to a game against the mackems i'd want him sacked there and then!! Don't care if he's trying some mind games or whatever not the thing to say when you are about to face your biggest rivals!
-
there's a history of trouble in this game though, there was the infamous game down there in the 90's in the league cup and it kicked off big style last season in the cup replay outside Rosies at the top of Stowell Street.

100% agree, thats exactly what i said at the start of the 2nd half, we were cruising and should've came out 433 and went for the kill, they never threatened 1st half, i was actually thinking it was a perfect chance to wipe out our goal difference and knock 5 past them. Unfortunately JFK went for the negative substitution, sat back and gave the iniatitive back to Stoke who were able to get the ball, hit long balls into corners and keep us penned back, from a game i thought we had sewn up i left the ground grateful for a point as we could've actually lost it!
-
Lee Clark wasn't in charge of our youth team though he was reserve team coach. As Roeder was the Academy director i'd expect him to know parents names etc.
-
i'm gutted he was going to take them down, they might get a manager who knows what he's doing now!!
-
Future NUFC manager in the making, i'd have him ahead of Shearer anyday, at least he's going out and learning his trade. Did a decent job with our reserve side and has obviously made an impression at Norwich.
-
At the minute i'll say 7 if we don't beat Stoke i'll say 9. We are almost halfway thru the season, just above the relegation zone and the way the fixtures have worked out, we have the harder set of fixtures coming up. We can't win away and have tough home games after xmas.
-
As we are playing Stoke next game, i fully expect Taylor to come back in and Bassong moved to left back and think thats the right back 4 for next weeks game tbh. i would then revert back to the back 4 of the last 2 games, injuries permitting for the pompey and spurs games.

he's in today chronicle denying the stories he wants to leave and the story he refused to take part in the team walk round the hotel on saturday and says he's happy at the club and staying!

I'm glad you find it funny. Chill out. I seriously doubt we will be selling any players who are useful to us. I think we will just bring in some loans like Kinnear has said. I would love it if we managed to shift Alan Smith though. Would have no problems with that at all. bearing in mind the the whole squad were allegedly up for sale at the end of the last transfer window i fully expect Ashley to sell anyone who we get a decent bid for! My own personal opinion is if Ashley is in charge of NUFC at the start of the year we will be relegated. He will sell players and anyone coming in will be unproven youngsters.

Agree with the comment about the liverpool academy, just got back from the game and couldn't believe that a club like Liverpool only had 1 english lad in a squad og 16 players. Liverpool built up a brilliant academy under Steve Heighway but think he left over a year ago after bust up with Rafa and now it looks like Rafa is now just bringing youngsters in from abroad. Regarding the match, i thought it was a decent game considering the state of the pitch and think we deserved our point. I think our academy is getting some unfair stick on here lately and think we have some decent players coming thru at reserve and youth level and think we could be set for a decent run in the youth cup this season. Although i haven't seen a great amount of them the bits i've seen in the reserves this season of the likes of Ranger, Newton, Sammy Ameobi, Tavernier, Inman, Ferguson are very encouraging in making the step up to reserve level. Young Inman is the player i'm going to keep an eye on and check his progress as central midfield is a problem position.
-
We haven't got enough players as it is without sending our fringe players on loan. It would probably do there development the world of good to get some experience on loan but we haven't got the squad depth to send players out. Once Viduka is fit again maybe Carroll will go on loan.
-
Both threads are the same , as both are having a pop at a NUFC player, doesn't make a difference if one is for lack of effort and one is for lack of ability you were still having a pop at a player and i just think find it funny that you started one but have a go at someone else. I haven't read the entire thread, only saw the first couple of posts so don't know what else has been sent.
-
Yes crowds have dipped but they've hardly been helped by the pitiful away followings from the last 3 games, put the Villa, WBA and Wigan fans together and they still wouldn't have filled the away section.
-
Nixon, this is a bit rich bearing in mind i seem to recall coming back from the Man City game a few weeks ago, coming on here to see you had started a thread absolutely slating Andy Carroll, who fair enough didn't play well but was thrown into a match less than a week after returning from long term injury!
-
Mark Hughes must be under pressure now after City's recent results....he could possibly just become available just as the takeover goes through!!
-
Dyer stuck in the treatment room would offer more than Duff!!! Taking into consideration transfer fee, reputation when signed and fee he's the worst player EVER to play for NUFC, he is a footballing fraud, has there ever been a winger in the history of the game who goes backwards as much as Duff?? Rarely creates and doesn't score.
