    Blyth

Think its repeated tomorrow lunchtime on ITV. Cracking result against a good team, Shrewsbury are fancied for promotion this season. Hopefully Blyth will get rewarded with a winnable home tie now and get into round 3.

    Nile Ranger

haha bit harsh, in my defence i was full of praise for the lad after the reserve game against Blackburn!!
  4. He should've scored 3 could've had 4. Scored a brilliant header from about 10 yards, headed straight at the keeper in the 1st half, missed a pen with a rather weak effort, bit too casual, kind of pen that looks good when the keeper goes the wrong way but if he guesses right you look silly. They should all have been converted and in the first half he had a excellent volley from just inside the box which just went narrowly over.

    Nile Ranger

I went to the reserve game on tuesday, young Ranger was rubbish, although to be fair he wasn't the only one, don't think any NUFC players would've got more than a 6. Seen him a couple of times but last night he was completely off the pace, should've scored but dallied on the ball far too long and got tackled with the goal at his mercy from 12 yds. Only bright spot of a poor performance was a tremendous header by Andy Carroll from an excellent Bassong cross that got us our equaliser.
  6. I went last night, was actually expecting a few more people to turn up than what were there, not that much happened, voted for the initial interim committe to stay in charge till end of season/june time when there will be elections. Two biggest issues were changing the supporters club into a supporters trust, good idea and way forward, would give the organisation more power and enable them to get government funding amongst other things. The other main point was to try and make contact to Mr Ashley via an open letter thru the media, not sure what will be in the letter though, this followed a long debate about the relevance of boycotting or not, some good points made both for and against the idea. Depending on getting reply/answer from Ashley will see what direction any continuation or the boycott takes.

    Old Toon memorabilia

Got a couple of signed shirts, signed pair of Shay Givens gloves but pride of place is a signed photo of the 1951 FA cup winning side, team photo with the cup and all the players autographs, Milburn, Mitchell, Harvey, Crowe, Taylor, Robledo etc. I never got much off my Grandad but very grateful he gave me that!
  8. Yes can't deny that the 2nd half was bad BUT tonight was a massive game and it was a MUST WIN game and despite the poor second half we WON!!! Getting the 3 points were the most important thing and we got them and to be honest i would gladly have went to SJP tonight and watched the worst game of football ever seen so long as we won tonight.
  9. couldn't agree more about the policing going back to st peters after the match, could have been some serious injuries with the surges and crushes with the police been idiots. I'm still thanking my mate who caught a 3/4 full bottle of coke which was flying straight towards my head at the end of the game, heading straight at me when he grabbed it about a foot from whacking me!!
  10. could someone not have told Smith, Beye and Enrique to tuck their shirts in!!!
  11. Jesus christ give the lad a break, he's been out injured since the middle of the summer, had no pre season training and only returned to training this last week, i'm amazed he was actually on the bench. Yes he came on and didn't have the best of games but with twats like you lot, its little wonder this club doesn't bring many youngsters through, fucking muppets. why not do us all a favour a fuck off and support sunderland.
  12. i'm getting the train, much better than the bus, especially if the buses have got to leave at half 9. There's trains going at 1130 and 1140.
  13. Not sure why your bringing up Biffa and the Game39 argument, i think most fans were against that idea.
  14. When's the enxt edition of The Mag out, do you know? not sure, if its not out for the man city game it'll be out for the following home.
  15. There's supposedly another meeting sometime this week. Not sure if its for anyone or just the committee though, i went to the initial meeting and signed up but wouldn't mind going this week to see what exactly what was/is being said and by who. i know a few people have been having a few digs at the likes of Biffa and Mick Martin in this thread, i stood with Biffa at the first meeting and he never spoke, just stood and listened and while Mick chaired the initial meeting said he wasn't along with mark from the mag wanting to be the organiser and leader as such, true faith, the mag and .com were all giving financial support to the initial set up and of course have the necesary vehicles in their websites and fanzines to get the message across. While Mick may however be on the committee i don't think biffa is(may be wrong) as i know he was at the reserve game when one of the meeetings was on.

    Toon Reserves

i've just got back as well, i thought it turned into a cracking match in the 2nd half, NUFC were much improved after a poor show in the first half against a bigger and stronger Blackburn side who after taking the lead early on and then hitting the bar could've been out of sight without some fine saves by Krul. We only had one real chance in the 1st half when Godsmark went thru and their keeper made a good save. NUFC then came out in the 2nd half and in a downpour got stuck into Rovers pressing them higher up the pitch, Ranger taking his goal well, good quick feet and fine finish. Penalty award was right in front of me and was a clear pen despite the arguments from the blackburn players, virtually the only player not protesting was there keeper as he knew he took Donaldson not the ball. Think we just about deserved the win for our 2nd half performance. Terry Mac was watching again, presumably the young Mcdermott is his son, the whole bench and young Conor Newton who played right back were from the under 16 team!! The young lad had a decent game and was getting better as the game went on and i was slightly suprised that he was subbed, the young lad Tavernier who replaced him also done ok. Will agree with Robbo that their number 7 Judge looked a good player and was probably best player on the pitch although i'd give Krul man of the match for a excellent all round display of goalkeeping. The lad is absolute class.

    Quick Question

you pla ymore games in the championship, we'll play at least 4 extra home games so the price could well stay the same as the club will say you're getting more games for your money!!
  18. One of the lads from NUSC is doing a piece on ITV's news at ten tonight.
  19. How do you know he likes attacking football??? his most successful time as a player was when he was managed by Dalglish, someone Shearer thinks the world of, for all you know Shearer could set his teams up and play like KD did, won trophies but not exactly wonderful attacking football!!!
  20. christ no, i'd give the job to Hughton before i even thought of giving it to Shearer, big al is the last person i want in charge.
  21. The last decent set of youngsters we had was Gascoigne's FA youth cup winning team, Joe Allon, Paul Stephenson and Ian Bogie I think. There seems to ba a massive gap between the first team and the juniors though. Something wrong when we have Nicky Butt as the only holding midfielder well past his best and we don't even have someone in the reserve team who could deputise, never mind pushing for that spot. We are that short for midfielders at reserve team level that the last couple of reserve games they've played, not including tonight, we have played Ryan Donaldson, England under 18 striker in midfield, to be fair though i've been more impressed with him in midfield than when he's played up front.
  22. Just got back from tonights reserve game against Sheff Utd, we were stuffed i left with about 5 mins to go when they scored there 3rd goal, we hadn't even forced there keeper into a save. We did field a really young side, more of an academy team, got to say to continue the negative mood of this thread, there wasn't many plus signs, only James Marwood came out with any credit but really just best of a bad bunch on a night when we were 2nd best in every department against a championship teams 2nd string
  23. Well done peasepud, as someone who went along to the initial meeting, you've summed up perfectly the chain of events leading upto the meeting, what happened at the meeting and what has happened after the initial meeting finished. Like i've said a few times in this thread, this hasn't been set up as a Ashley Out protest group but hopefully will be a long overdue and much needed organisation that can give the supporters of NUFC a common voice. I also agree with much of what the man upstairs has said, i'm not totally against Mike Ashley, i think the guy has come into the club and done alot of good things, i also do think some of the actions by the fans is wrong and playinng a negative role, i don't think the cockney mafia banner does much good. My main gripe is Dennis Wise and Llambias, again it is a bit difficult to be 100% correct due to the silence coming out of SJP but my own opinion is that its KK's disagreements with Wise and Llambias which have ripped the club apart, followed by MA backing those 2 over KK.
  24. The people on the interim committee are some of the lads and lasses who attended the initial metting last tuesday. I signed up when i was there but when it came to sign up on the night they gave you the option to sign up to be a member, which me and a couple of mates did or sign up with the intention to want an active role as in be on the committee. Obviously the ones who wanted a more involved role in getting it up and running met again on Thursday. Got to say thought the interview on Radio Newcastle was excellent and now lets hope we get plenty of fans signing up and joining, then we can start electing proper committees, chairmen etc and get a strong united group ready to give the fans of NUFC a common voice. Like someone said on Tuesday this is a chance to start and build the biggest and best supporters club in the world!!! I know there's a few people making comments about taking sides but to be fair, without wanting to speak for other fans i think its fair to say that the majority of supporters are against Ashley with regard to the decisions that our owner has made recently with the running of our football club.
