    Public meeting

In which case, why does it want to create it's own merchandise which would in effect take money from the club? I am sure they would have a product range of about 4/5 t-shirts and get about 100 of each printed. If we are told that not buying burgers from inside the ground isnt going to affect the club, there is no way a handful of t-shirts is going to even come close to appearing on the radar. If they end up protesting on the telly with their anti- owner t-shirts they'll be very much on the radar. Any potential investors won't have missed that flashing across their news screens I'm pretty certain. From what I have read in this thread, this isnt about being anti-owner so any merchandise wont have any reference to that on it. Sounds like your trying to group these lads in with the SSN mongs and that blatanty is not the case. Sounds like they are a bunch of people trying to undo what those idiots have done to the club. That cant be a bad thing can it ? Robster your spot on, In an ideal world i imagine the ultimate goal would be to be a powerful organisation that could get some sort of fan representation on the board, is that possible? who knows. But the main point of this as far as i could make out is to give Newcastle Supporters an organisation that gives the fans a voice, if something big happens at the club, the media can contact the group for opinion, not the shoe waving idiots with the bed sheets.

You've lost me now mate, why do you think we shouldn't bother and away travel never got mentioned by anyone at the meeting. If you live local i suggest you get along to the next meeting and see for yourself what we are trying to get off the ground.

Like i've already said nothing was written in stone or agreed.

    Public meeting

What was his point? I never got what he was talking about. He was sane compared to the bloke at the front who got chucked, wandering around desperate to get hold of the mic with his shirt completely undone expsoing his bare belly. no idea i think they both somehow managed to escape from David Craigs clutches and stumbled into the Irish club!! I see a few people have picked up on the merchandising comment and taking money away from the club. To explain, that comment came from one lad who when talking about hitting Ashley in the pocket suggested that we produce our own shirts, t-shirts etc even wanted Mark Jensen to produce a match programme instead of buying the official one!! Never going to happen. Loads of ideas were suggested some excellent, some good and some bad, nothing was decided on the night. Speaking to Michael Martin before it started was to guage opinion and see if people would be prepared to start a group and make a big go of it, this isn't something than is going to start this week and be defunct by xmas, the plan was at least 15 people to be serious and join a committee, i reckon 50-60 signed up on the night.

    Public meeting

Just got back from the meeting and came away feeling quite positive about the future as this should give Newcastle fans a voice, got to be better than Frank rent a quote Gilmour. Tom has summed up the meeting pretty well, important to stress this isn't going to be a Get Ashley out group, granted that seems to be the catalyst but its a chance for NUFC supporters to come together as one and build something for the future. Its amazing that a club our size has no supporters club, already a major boost that the lads from true faith and the Mag as well as Biffa are joining forces as that gives the group 3 massive vehicles to get the groups message across. Early days, some good comments from the top table, thought Colin Whittle gave a great speach and some good comments taken on board from the floor from a wide cross section of our support both young and old rich or poor and a couple of strange ones, not least the bloke talking about going to New york/unions/labour and new labour, think he was meant to be at a different meeting. Suprised to read nagative comments, i personally can't see how anything but good can come from this getting off the ground and taking off and urge all NUFC fans to join.

Get yourself there and put your point of view across if you are pro Ashley, its a public meeting, mainly to discuss recent events and guage opinion to see whether a supporters club will work.

    Public meeting

i'm going, been saying for a couple of years that NUFC need a supporters club. Hopefully should be a good night and something constructive can come out of the mess of the last 2 weeks.
  8. Freddy said he was approached by 2 consortiums but wouldn't be joining them, then when pressed if he would make a return he said never say never!!
  9. Biggest worry for me on the football side of things is what state will are South Anmericans be in, not sure about Gonzalez but the argentina game is 3.30am on thursday am, got to then travel back. Nobby rarely played following his trips back to Peru.
  10. To the point and a fair appraisal. Ashley Out. If Alex is right, its got f*** all to do with Ashley, its all about Wise. This is just more of the same mindless tripe that has been flying around for the last few days. This evil system which has supposedly caused all the trouble is the same one that Keegan bought into when he agreed to join the club, and the same one that seems to have done a good job of strengthening the team over the summer. Now because Keegan throws a hissy fit, everyone decides that things were no good all along. I don't think it's occurred to many that it might well be Ashley who's the one that's acted with integrity here. Keegan was trying to use his standing with the fans to force him to sack Wise. In many ways that would have been the easy option for Ashley - that would have kept the peace. But he decided that Wise was doing the job that he'd been asked to do, and there was no justification for sacking him. Regardless of whether you think the DOF system is the right one, at least Ashley was prepared to stick to his beliefs and not make Wise a sacrificial lamb, no matter what the outside pressure was. If thats the case and Ashley is the one thats acted with the integrity then he should get himself in front of a TV camera and tell everyone what really happened. What were the proposals that the club have put forward and Keegan walked away from? Christ he's had all bloody week to put the record across put neither Ashley or any of the goons he's employed to run the club and spoken one word since they took up there roles.
  11. Got to say i'm not in favour of boycotting games, there's a team of 11 players feeling as sick as us who need our support, games against Hull should be games we are winning and collecting 3 points, we don't want to be losing it. If people want a boycott a game surely the Tottenham cup match is the one to stay away from, after all we've paid for season tickets so we've paid our money for Hull one, staying away from the Spurs game hits Ashley where it hurts, his POCKET!! Stay away from that one, don't give him your £20 for a ticket and watch it in the pub.
  12. Good god, SSN have just went live outside the ground and there singing Shoes off and then started pogoing!!!!! Tonights news is bad enough without them muppets!!
  13. Don't think we shouldn't go to the match as the team need the support and we need the 3 points but in maybe sounding slightly hypocritical no one should go in the ground or seats till 3.15. Give the world the visual protest of an empty ground, then back the team and then following the final whistle a sit in protest.
  14. From what i understand KK had his bust up on Monday with Llambas and Wise, in the aftermath he's either quit or they've sacked him. I may be way off but think Ashley is currently doing a major dose of grovelling and attempting to get KK back. If that scenario is true, i want Ashley to keep KK and sack the other two. Then as others have said we need a joint press conference with KK and MA, lay everything on the table, give us the truth of what exactly has happened and then lay out the vision for the future and categorically state the roles of whoever is left at the club. its the only way to get the press pack off our case. We also need a serious look at the PR at the club, i'm not asking for the club to go back to the days of Shepherd when everyone knew everything that was happening but the clubs communication with the fans must improve. So far i think Ashley has been good for NUFC apart from one mistake, employing Wise and i think he's paying big style for that now and that mistake could well prove fatal.
  15. Only seen Zamblero twice and got to say he's been very poor in both games. Godsmark isn't good enough, he's quite quick but is too small and not good enough. The reserve team played poor on Monday night but it was missing Carrol, Lua Lua, Baheng and Kadar and them 4 players make a huge difference to that side. I've said for ages that the policy that the club has gone down for the last couple of years of playing players above their age groups hasn't worked.

    Sad sesh

I'll be joining you for the last couple of hours when i get back from watching the reserves twat the mackems at SJP.
  17. This is probably the best thing on skysports, some of the stuff last season were hilarious.

    back barton

Anything more than a 3-5 game ban would be a disgrace. Did Bowyer and Dyer get more than 3 when they had there bust up on the pitch? how long did Hartson get for trying to kick Berkovic's head off his shoulders at West Hams training ground? If Joey had a fight on the pitch he'd get a 3 game ban so how can he be looking at potentially missing 15 games for fighting with a team mate on the training ground, of which the club he was playing for at the time took action. Why should NUFC get punished? One of the strangest things i found about the Liverpool mcdonalds incident is that when Joey started on the lad his mates just stood back and let him get pummelled. i'd have been furious if my mates did that, you'd have thought at least one would've tried to split them up or pull back Joey? Actually he's had my full support ever since the likes of The Sun and Mail etc tried to take the moral high ground and demand his sacking and tried to tell NUFC how to conduct there business.
  19. You've got to be joking, as someone who has seen virtually every home reserve game in the last 5 years, i've seen enough of the pair of them to confidently say that if you tied Krul's hands behind his back and then blindfolded him he would still be a better keeper than Forster. I'll be gutted if Krul goes. I'll not deny that Forster has made some great improvement but if he had to go in goal in a PL game i'd be a nervous wreck.
  20. Clearly pissed that Milner got to move on while he's 'stuck' here. The Chronic made mention earlier this week of how little he (and Milner) celebrated their respective goals against Coventry. probably because they knew they hadn't scored, they were 2 own goals. Anal stirring and been an arse again
  21. Excellent letter and the type we should be sending rather than calling them c*nts, w**kas etc, even though tghat Burley is one!!
  22. The commenatary on this game is a fuking disgrace.........never heard anything like it.
