  1. Sounds like a decent work out and looks like no one as picked up any injuries bar a bit of a dead leg for Shola which AP said was nothing serious. Good use of the squad as well, decent team today and can bring in the likes of Hatem, Tiote, Colo, Cisse on Tuesday against St Mirren.

    Papiss Cissé

Perfect timing to be back in the squad for this weekends Wonga derby!!! :-)
  3. He should be going on loan to a higher standard than Shrewsbury.
  4. Great potential?? He's 27, should be in the prime of his career not showing potential

    U23s & Academy

Yet another case of lack of communication from the club, the failure to achieve CAT 1 status could have been disastrous for the club and i know plenty of people were interested to know what was happening.
  6. he couldn't really miss, just been on SSN. Gouffran should have scored it really, bad miss and Haris just tapped in the rebound

    Papiss Cissé

Haven't read the article but could this just be he is due back tomorrow/tuesday and is behind the others who have been training for the last week and about to go to Scotland to face Motherwell so while they do that he does fitness work on his own.
  8. midday kick off on a sunday away at Spurs is a bit of a nightmare.
  9. For anyone interested this is a list of the questions, taken from the 500 received that have been given to the club to answer following the meeting in the labour club on Monday night, some good ones some daft ones as you would expect... Joe Kinnear 1.Why Joe Kinnear? What are his credentials? 2.Was he the only candidate? 3.Aren’t you concerned about his health? 4.Why not somebody like Chris Mort? 5.Why the delay in announcing? 6.Did Llambias walk or was he pushed? 7.Doesn’t this appointment undermine Alan Pardew/ other staff? 8.Who allowed JK on TalkSport? General Q’s about JK 1.How will this work? (ie who’s responsible for what - clarity of JK’s role) 2.Who has the final say on players? 3.How do the players feel - especially those whose names he mangled? 4.What action did the Club take after TalkSport? 5.Do the Club not feel embarrassed by TalkSport? General Mike Ashley/ Ownership 1.Why did MA buy the Club? 2.Does he still “want” to own NUFC? 3.Can you help us understand what you are trying to achieve with NUFC? 4.What does Mike Ashley want? Why does he do things he knows anger fans? 5.Will you ever issue a statement (from YOU) or communicate directly with fans? 6.Would you sell? 7.Would you consider some form of scheme to allow (partial) fan ownership? 8.How much we now owe Ashley has he been taking the installments back? 9.Would MA accept further (outside) investment into NUFC? General NUFC 1.What happened to the “five year plan”? 2.Do you think you are following your own Mission Statement (refresh???) 3.How can we be confident in club when direction changes more than the wind? 4.What does the last week to to encourage stability? 5.What progress have you made as a club? 6.& do you actually understand how important the customer is? 7.What was the MASSIVE commercial deal that was going to be announced at the end of the season? 8.Would you ever consider bringing a safe standing/ singing section back? 9.Will SJP ever be upgraded to hold more? 10.What’ the thinking behind “membership” also do you know how poor an offer it is? 11.Also as a side question can they look at away games, in particular lifting the ban on non season ticket holders and also taking the full quota of tickets offered by the home clubs 12.Have you published the revised disabled supporters’ ticketing policy yet? Who are you consulting with? Transfer/ Team questions 1.What is the transfer strategy? Has it changed? Are will still buy young & cheap? 2.Why didn’t we sign players last summer to build on 5th place? 3.Why weren't the buys/ sales sorted the week after the last game as promised? 4.Can we get out of the Wonga deal? 5.Do we always have to bring in money first before buying? 6.Could the club look into fan input on how the club is ran? 7.Is the rumour true about Aubameyang been offered shares in SD in a contract offer? 8.How often do you practise corners and do you have any tactics 9.with us £18mil up on transfers and the wage bill down + TV deal, why arent we spending big eg Aubameyeng 10.And how long are we going to have to put up with the fact that the likes of Gutierrez and Tiote are constantly bigged up as being 'key players' for the team when in reality the only thing they contribute is holding us back? Any other business •Pre - season tournament held at St James' Park each year. Newcastle United and 3 of Sir Bobby's former clubs all taking part. Four teams in the tournament with the opposition rotated each year so they all get a turn. Imagine the interest in this man! They could even donate the gate money to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation •Why not do themed screenings of classic matches in the off-season? •Why not embrace the city, embrace the club and its fans - it would help build a winning team.
  10. Steve spoke really well last night and gave a cracking speech and like you say stepped in to help that Eddie bloke from getting a mauling. Yes it can be annoyong seeing your twitter and facebook feed fill up with his crap but thats his work, got his fingers in so many pies but that's his job and he is going to use twitter/facebook to advertise his work and like TT said alot of people are interested in the criminal underworld and go to the events that he puts on.
  11. i am sure i saw on twitter earlier that they are setting up a stream for the meeting.
  12. Bit daft putting that in but to be fair rightly or wrongly it is something people use to have a go at him with and why he has waffled on the basic point he is making is a good one, the fans, while never going to eye to eye on everything need to have a collective voice when needed and with the trust seeming dying a death, NUFCfansunited have come together and have managed to get into regular communication with the club through Lee Marshall and Wendy Taylor. It can only make the fans views more credible and get heard even more if the likes of True Faith, The Mag and .com come on board. I have always thought NUFC's independant fanzine scene(will include .com and even this place in that) as one of the best in the country but unlike other clubs we never seem to join together and make ourselves heard properly. Wraith has got the biggest ego out of all of the people he mentions in the above, what he's basically saying is get behind me. I've never seen Mark Jensen, Biffa or Michael Martin turning up outside of St James' Park whenever a TV crew turns up, I've seen Wraith appearing from nowhere plenty of times. Anybody who thinks Lee Marshall and Wendy Taylor are going to do any more than window dressing are deluded. You are probably right, no idea what Lee and Wendy will do, i don't know much about NUFCfansunited but do know they have had a few meetings with them and they have been at there last few meetings and while it might not be much, bearing how much the fans and media have been blanked by Ashley and Llambias in the last few years i suppose any contact with club officials as got to be a good sign but whether it has any effect we won't know but at least they will here what is going on and its up to them to act on it. Also not sure Wraith is running it or anything, just think he has ended up "the voice" probably due to his relationship with local media, think Steve Hastie who was chairman of the NUST before it went tits up is but i maybe totally wrong. I have decided to pop along to the meeting 2moro to see what the craic is so will find out then. Agree about Biffa and Michael Martin not going on TV, although Michael was on talksport last week and Mark Jenson does a bit of TV, just think the media have now just got into the routine of going straight to Steve for a soundbyte of any NUFC related news story, but then that is also partly due to Steve and the local media being quite close as it works both ways, he will give them his opinion on NUFC and they will get the interviews with the ex players who Steve has doing talk ins. Won't deny he probably has the biggest ego but in Wraiths defence when he is on the tv he always says its his view and never says he is speaking for anyone but himself.

  14. think thats the first goal i have ever seen Mikel score and took it so well.

    Alan Pardew

I want Pardew sacked but i am also worried about who Ashley would bring in as a replacement. If the club aren't willing to change there policy i can't see any big name or top manager coming to work for AShley and Llambias. Hope i am wrong though.
  16. i know he hasn't had many chances but in his time on the pitch i can't really see what Anita has done for the constant clamour to have him in the team, he's looked poor in most of the games he has played.

    Alan Pardew

Think this was always going to happen, like Llambias said earlier in the season, after last season he would be allowed a bad season so with us safe they were pretty much certain to keep him. He is under huge pressure though now, he has a growing % of supporters turning against him and daft comments like yesterday aren't going to help his cause and if we start slowly and poorly next season he'll be gone by October. Don't know if they bookies have prices up yet for the first PL manager to lose his job but Pardew has got to be a good bet now.

    U23s & Academy

Haven't seen much of them this season but Inman and tav are younger than Fergie, they were in the Youth cup side that got to the semi's a couple of seasons ago with Sammy, Vuckic, newton and Dummett. Of the new group i haven't seen anything of Mbabu, Gillied, Cameron Armstrong but Satka looks a very very good prospect. Seen him about 4 or 5 times and he has impressed every time.

Seems we played really well against a very good Everton side who are now unbeaten in 16 games but where were Campbell and Gosling, yes they may have been in the first team squad for the last few weeks but surely we could have played them tonight bearing in mind the first team don't play until Sunday. With Sammy and Inman back we could have given it a real go and were a couple of games from winning some silverware and bearing in mind the doom and gloom would have surely given the club a bit of a boost. The under 18's hammered Norwich 6-0 today as well to win their group, although i presume they now go into play offs with the other group winners.

the worry to that though is if Chelsea turn Spurs over tomorrow night they are guaranteed a CL spot and could rest even more than normal when they go to Villa as they have the Europa league final next week. Villa could end up playing Chelsea's reserves.
  21. thought this thread was bumped to announce him as our POTY
  22. that double save was tremendous, especially the 2nd one from the follow up by Nolan.

    Shola Ameobi

i thought he had found the bottom corner when he took it down on his chest and hit it from the edge of box.
  24. in the normal context of a season i would say going to West Ham and keeping a clean sheet and getting a draw would be a good result but can't possibly call it a great result. i would say there were a few more positives to take after the shambles of the last few weeks. we looked to have better shape and looked more solid after shipping 6 goals the clean sheet has got to be a big confidence booster Colo looked like he'd never been away Tiote had his best game in a while HBA got 65 mins which i think now with another weeks training should be able to last 90 mins in the last 2 games, Pardew hasn't really got an excuse now not to keep him out
