Watching the Lisbon derby and Benfica have just scored a fantastic goal to go 2-0 up.

It's probably true in theory but it's still harsh. We should be creating more chances, not missing the couple we do create and then looking back and saying "what if"? He also assisted our first goal, so perhaps he gained us a point? yes he set up the first goal but games are always broke down to big moments and that miss was absolutely massive in the context of the game, we were bossing it and the 2nd goal could have virtually wrapped up the match by half time. In the end we go in 1 up at HT, they regroup make a tactical change and come out a different side and put us on the back foot and we struggled to get back into the game.

Cost us 2 points today, at this level you can't afford to miss chances given to you on a plate by the opposition.

i don't want to hear or read any apologies from players or manager about Sunday, words mean nothing i just want them to go to WBA and get the 3 points.

We had a game plan and so nearly pulled it off, i thought the tactics of keeping it tight and trying to win it late was the correct way to go about it, the lads i went with thought the same, bloke behind me the same, bloke in the bogs at HT was saying the same that after keeping it tight we can win it 2nd half with our subs, coming out after the game speaking to others again no grumbling and were happy with the tactics, i log on facebook and someone posted a great write up on true faiths page agreeing with the tactics and then i come on the Pardew thread and its not a really a shock to see the anti Pardew brigade yet again out of touch with the majority of supporters of NUFC.

I agree about taking off and resting someone who has played in Europe but in saying that Gouffran has been pretty poor in the last couple of games and probably deserved to be took off but then we are really short of attacking players and options upfront.

At the time of saying it he was spot on, we had away games at Wigan and Man City while teams around us played home games and took advantage and if Halsey had done his job right we wouldn't have lost to Wigan. Its amazing that whatever he does or says you manage to twist it into an negative slant.

Benitez would prefer to win the FA cup and Europa league, he would prefer to win 2 trophies than finish 4th.

To be honest i haven't seen anything from Haidara in his few appearances so far to suggest he is any better than Fergie or Tavernier at this moment in time, he looked steady away in Russia but i thought he too overrawed in the 2nd leg against Anzhi at SJP and while he may well turn into a good player at this particular moment i don't think he is ready for the first team and would really be worried if he was playing in big important games such as the Benfica game or the derby.

i don't get your point, Did he sit in the middle of the park and boss the game for 90 mins? i didn't see the Ajax Man U game he may have had a shocker and carried by his team mates for all i know. Teams can win without every player playing well.

We were missing 4 of our first choice back 5, Tiote and our most creative player in HBA away at the champions who for the first time in weeks were back to pretty much full strength with the likes of Kompany and Yaya back and we caught them on a good day! We would have struggled to get anything even if we had been at full strength. My biggest gripe though is that we didn't really have a go at them and sat back and let them dictate the game 1st half, if we had managed to hold out till half time then maybe the gameplan would have worked and then despite Man City missing some chances we were still unlucky to concede two goals in the 2nd half with big deflections and as a result our GD has took a hit. Hopefully we get Krul, Santon and Tiote back for Thursday and Marveaux comes back in as well to give us some creativity.
