deserved at least a point thought we were pretty comfortable for 80 mins then the one player you think you can rely on, Colo goes walkabout and we lose 2 goals. Dragged out into no mans land instead on being in position in line with the post and no idea where he was for the 2nd when Jerome just ran off him to get onto Jones's knockdown. (i might change my opinion after watching MOTD as only seen it on a stream that wasn't brillant) Gutted at the minute as really thought we would hold on to an unlikely win although in saying that you can't miss one on ones and expect to win, i would expect strikers of Ba and Cisses quality to both score when running clear and into the box with only keeper to beat, especially as the defenders were never going to catch them.

promising signs against Southampton and probably had his best game for us, wouldn't be playing him at Stoke though against there giants, bring in Perch and keep Anita for the Wigan game.

I think that ship sailed a while back mate, he had his chance to progress the football over the summer and did f*** all, it was clear to see within four matches that he wasn't addressing the issues. Funnily enough I fancy him to have a go with the 4-3-3 with Ba wide over the next few weeks, if it doesn't work though I think he'll hide further in his shell and we'll get more and more defensive if we fall into a relegation fight. We are already in a relegation fight, especially looking at the fixtures up until the new year

Cisse can hold the ball up. Playing up front on his own at Freiburg he was brilliant at it. I've never seen him play for Freiburg, but I simply don't believe that. He's absolutely terrible at it, even worse than Ba. Me neither but i would imagine when he played up front on his own at Freiberg he wasn't having balls fired at his head and instead was getting balls played through midfield and then down the side of centre backs for him to run on too.

pretty sure we are now just going to keep doing it until it eventually works and we score. Its not just that though all our set pieces and corners are shocking, doesn't help that it seems every time we get a corner someone else takes it! Plus think we should go to inswinging corners instead of floaty outswingers. At least if we are whipping fast inswingers in any slight deplection could see the ball go in the net.

last season when we brought in the likes of Cabaye, it was cos Pardew wanted to "control game" and keep possession and while we did that last season it seems he only has the confidence to do that when we are at full strength and he has Tiote and Cabaye in the middle of the park, when one or both are missing we just revert to hoofing it and this season the hoof seems to come before trying to keep possession. Surely we should be on the training pitch and coaching the whole team to keep it and have faith in the other players to do the job if Cabaye and Tiote are missing. Thats one thing with the likes of Rodgers and Martinez, they have a philosophy and identity for there teams and all the players in the squad buy into it and a couple of players missing doesn't effect the way the team plays. We chop and change during games as well as game to game.

i tend to agree, he has been let down by those above and we should have strengthened the team/squad from the position of strength that we had in the summer but we didn't need to hear that we should be grateful, the sensible thing to do was too add players not just keep what we had. Its not as if we had to spend millions, players like Diame could/should have been snapped up on Bosmans. While we are still putting teams out which should be capable of getting results i think the main thing is that our first choice 11 is really good but we drop so far when a couple go out. Colo is immense and holds the defence together but when he isn't there the defence looks all over the place. HBA is the creative force of the team and the biggest blow is Tiote and Cabaye, those 2 together MAKE our team and sadly for one reason or another we haven't had them on the pitch together enough this season.

7 started on Thursday too. and they had to travel to Italy as well.
-
can't see much point in taking the piss out of them at the minute with us being just as bad at present, along with QPR the 3 worst teams in the league.
-
Steven talyor is not any better either. If any one has been monitoring his play he would notice how rubbish he is and why we concede easy goals. taylor has a hamstring injury apparently so looks like Williamson will be starting against Stoke
-
walking out the ground at the final whistle i looked up at the tv screen on the concourse and he looked to be holding the back of his right leg and limping as he was coming off the pitch.
-
Can't see us winning in Bordeaux and can see us having a gruelling trip to play one of the Russian or Ukrainian teams in the knockout round
-
Need to get the team back to basics and just go out and keep things simple and pass THE ball. Can't fault the effort and commitment of the players tonight or in any game this season but the lack of quality and general play is dreadful.

gladly take a draw now. we will do well to have a ful compliment of subs

The supporters at West Ham hated his style. The long balls to the likes of Cole and Harewood. Tevez and Masch benched cause he had a huff with them. THOSE are FACTS. Reminded me of those games where he preferred Obertan to Hatem (Obertan is the only player he had a hand in recruiting btw). If you remember Hatem had to play miracle football when he got his chance to stay in the side. I mean he had to perform like Maradona and then the supporters started calling for him every game. Honestly it felt like touch and go if he'd every get into Pards good books or be discarded. I remember it well. No he didn't have to play like Maradona, Hatem had to get match fit after missing a year of football after a broken leg and also learn that if he wanted to be in the team he would have to fit into the "team work ethic". Pardew handled HBA brilliantly last season and has probably made him a better player if you've listened or heard any of Hatems interviews he says the same.

i know goals have been scarse on Wearside but didn't think it had got so bad that there fans now sing lets pretend we've scored a goal! count to 4 then all jump up and celebrate. cringeworthy. as were the 2 little tramps who ran onto the pitch at halftime and came in front of the away end giving us the V's, wanker gestures, thought they were the bees knees while the toon fans just stood there laughing at them. Decent game tonight, thought we were just the better side but given that they missed a pen maybe draw was fair result. Good, Riley, Abeid and Inman were excellent for us and Ranger did well considering the lack of match practice and probably training, took his goal very well after great work from Inman in robbing Vaughan before breaking over halfway and putting a great ball through for Nile to out run the defender and clipping past the keeper. Not sure what happened to Satka as he was down on the team sheet but wasn't playing which was a disappointment as i was looking forward to watching him as he has looked really really good in the last couple of games i have watched.

Abeid played well for the reserves against Man U, wouldn't be suprised to see him back in the squad.
-
when he played in the reserves a couple of weeks ago, Carver and Stone were doing there nut with him for constantly slowing down the game and not working hard enough. The reserves when they get going and are on song, ping the ball around quick and play one two touch with good movement and were having great success getting Campbell in down the channels but when Marveaux got the ball he was holding onto the ball and slowing down the passing.

Reserve derby at stadium of shite on monday night, toon fans back in the old away behind the goal. Its always a laugh over there for this game. Not sure what kind of game we will have though with the Maritimo game in midweek, possibility of players going out on loan and a few injuries.
-
thats probably his level to be honest but its also a tough league and it may well toughen him up a bit.
-
wouldn't suprise me, i commented to my mate on Sunday that Ba never seems to pass to Cisse. To be honest as long as they are professional on the pitch i don't care if they don't get on, after all look at Man U a few years ago, Andy Cole and Sheringham hated each other and didn't talk but they produced the goods out on the pitch.
-
no cos as soon as we put the poll up they will win the next game!
-
saw something on twitter that he had a knock
-
He is a huge miss when he's out of the team. As well as doing his own job he frees up Cabaye, they compliment each other perfectly and are an excellent partnership in the middle of the park. Sadly when Cheik is missing Cabaye plays deeper and we aren't the same team. Our record when we have those two together is really good and we look a different team.

Inconclusive. Tough one, sadly the linesman was on the other side of the pitch so couldn't see as Jussi's body is in the way. Mike Dean had a good view though he was only about 7 or 8 yards out with the same view as that photo but i doubt he could give it as he would be guessing.
