never heard of him. What position is he? whats his strengths/weaknesses?
-
Was just about to post that, thought he was betrayed by his manager. He was getting stick throughout the game and subbing him in front of the fans who were giving him stick was really going to hurt him. Not suprised he stormed off down the tunnel.

yes think its a mixture of the youngsters and then the older ones are the ones being released, although you'd think they'd be busting a gut trying to impress any watching scouts that are present.
-
two goals and an assist are nothing compared to a Crouch wondergoal though....

Can't believe they haven't sold out especially with Everton taking the whole of the stand behind the goal and the corner( well thats according to the mackem at work) surely 40000 mackems would buy tickets for a quarter final. If they win 2moro we'll amazingly hear some sob stories off them how they can't get a ticket for wembley.

wasn't Hamann a Gullit signing?
-
He was alot better yesterday, the goal was unfortunate. i said to my mate at half time what a difference Williamson and Simpson were in the first without the crowd on there backs!

I love Lawro, everytime he predicts a defeat for us we win!!

Brilliant win capping off a excellent week result wise. Tonight should be a night for celebrating a valuable 3 points and not focus on any of the negatives that may have been in the game.

i think due to injuries we have ran out of right backs. Early in the season the likes of Nzuzi and Nicholson played but both are now injured. Airey has played at fullback before, he was seemingly rotated between striker and right back a couple of seasons ago then started banging goals in and stayed up front. In the two recent games i've seen him play he's been dreadful at full back!

iirc Solano does/did a bit of coaching with the academy.

the reserves don't play long ball stuff, if anything they overplay and get caught in the wrong areas. Although on Tuesday against Chelsea they did 2nd half however that was more with the fact we went 3 up top and all big lads.

The Under 18's are still going strong. Won 2-1 today away at Derby and are now 5 points clear at the top of the league and still have 1 game in hand. Today's side featured Brad Kilburn, a centre half on trial. The team also featured Miele, Maddison,Logan, Hooper and Taylor who all featured in last night reserve game against Chelsea. The academys next game is at home to Sheff Wed on Saturday where they will be hoping to make it ten home wins out of ten.

Nothing to do with Beardsley, don't think he done much apart from putting the cones out. We started well but as the season has gone on the players have got younger and younger and the inexperience shows, even when its just playing against players a few years older. Early in the season the reserves would be featuring the likes of Vukcic, Sammy, Inman, Dummett, Abeid and Ferguson. Last night Maddison(who has looked good in the youth cup run this season) making his debut, Logan, who was used as a sub in the youth cup side making only his 2nd appearance and Kitchen, 16 yrs old not even a Under 18 player making his debut. Great experience playing against the likes of Lakuka but doesn't help the team when we are getting stuffed.

He played well until he got in the box last night, his general play and hold up play was decent but he is terrible in front of goal. Should have scored 3 yesterday but missed 3 pretty simple chances, two one on ones, the first was shocking ran clear with the keeper to beat, no defender anywhere near but just ended up running into the keeper when he eventually decided to try and go round him.

reminds me so much of Andy Cole, proper goal poacher.
-
He was excellent today, MOTM by a country mile, to be fair to the lad he's been really good all season, he's come off the bench in loads of games, mostly to help the side see out wins and been nice and steady in virtually all his games in whatever position Pardew has asked him to play. Seems to have learnt alot from last season when he was more reckless and picking up bookings for fun!
-
i'd be delighted with a draw and i'd even though he was excellent today in midfield i'd play Perch centre half against WBA, his extra pace will come in handy against there strikers. Hopefully Tiote is back as well.
-
He's vital in games like todays cos he's needed as unlike Ba and Cisse he holds up the ball and relieves the pressure. This is of course balanced up with the fact Ba and Cisse have more of a goal threat. Shola was excellent when he came on although i'm not sure about him playing on the right wing every week!

surely there can't be 3 worse places than Sunderland? i demand a recount! http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/local/sunderland_is_fourth_worst_city_in_britain_1_1110661

Thought Perchinho was very good tonight.
-
one of his best games in ages but his stupid throw in has cost us a well deserved point. A simple throw into Shola's feet and its gameover. Ba shouldn't have even made the run into the box to be fair. Once it was cut out we had 4 players out of the game.

sadly i fear a hammering, Spurs defeat to Everton has just given Arsenal an extra incentive to win as the 3 points puts them a point behind Spurs.

where's that llambias quote come from?

why would a company pay millions to sponsor the ground and then call its St James' Park??
