they won't be tired now that sky have shifted it to next monday, could've done with a 12.45ko on the saturday.
-
i'm going. Not very confident mind.
-
not really a great shock, Villa always seem to have very strong reserve/youth sides and are running away at the top of the Southern section. We were always going to struggle against them when we are playing inexperienced kids like Logan and Kitchen(who has barely featured for the u18's, definately didn't play in any of the youth cup games). Tonight is the type of game when we could have done with the likes of Tavernier, Kadar, Dummett and Ferguson in the back 4 but for one reason or another they weren't available. The worrying thing from tonight would be us getting outplayed despite having the likes of Abeid and Gosling in the middle of the park. God knows what side we'll play against Sunderland on Thursday at SJP.

thought he was fantastic in the 2nd half, was like a one man midfield wrecking machine, was running through there players at times.
-
for all the good bits and bad bits of todays game, for as bad as we were 1st half thought we were excellent in the 2nd, more intensity and totally dominated them even when they had 11 men. Would quite happily take 4 points off them every season.
-
he wasn't in any of the training pics so got too be looking very doubtful. Hopefully he gets better and can get on the bench. If we were to get a penalty to win the game with 5 mins to go i'd be more confident of Shola taking it than Ba, even though Demba has scored a couple i feel more confident of Shola taking them :-)

while everyone is in the derby mood its the reserve derby at SJP this thursday, kick off 7pm.
-
aye but it was when England U21's were playing not NUFC!
-
didn't think about kids lol i presume the bars will be open as soon as the turnstiles open.
-
why would you want to go in the ground and pay stupid prices when there's 100's of bars in the city centre?
-
I suppose they missed out on when we played Inter then they probably think Inter is a different city in Italy.

HBA is a news worthy story, Pardew will get asked questions about him every press conference, which is why we keep getting these stories. I can't see many of them wanting to know about Raylor or Obertan or Jonas.
-
Sunderland Team News for the weekend: Sunderland defenders Wes Brown has an injured groin, Phil Bardsley struggling with his thigh and Titus Bramble is struggling with a yet another rape charge he can't shake off.
-
its not good if Demba Ba gets called up as his replacement!
-
with arsenal's comeback, those 2 dropped points by us yesterday are looking even more costly now.
-
Agree that the service to him wasn't the best but thought that was his worst game for us today, his touch and passing which is normally decent was poor, hopefully he's back on top form next sunday.
-
he definately went off with an injury. With our luck we'll precautionary pull him out of the senegal squad and they'll call up Ba as his replacement!
-
i like Steve, he stands up and speaks his mind but that stunt today is cringeworthy and an embarrassment.
-
i'd play him tomorrow and bring Raylor back in for the derby.
-
I haven't seen any press conferences. Has Pardew actually said he's going to play Raylor or Obertan tomorrow or are we still guessing?

this is the team i sent in, i put Hughie up front and put Milburn out to the right wing, bit of a cheat but only way to get those 2 and Shearer into the side and Milburn did start as a winger... went for players with longevity and success. Shay Given 462 games for NUFC Joe Harvey 247 games, 12 goals captained NUFC to FA cup wins in 1951 and 1952 Frank Clark 456 games 1 goal, member of the fair cup winning team Bobby Moncur 343 games 8 goals captain of the 1969 fairs cup winning side. Bill McCracken 432 games 8 goals won 3 league titles, 1 FA cup and twice runner up in the FA cup. Jackie Milburn 397 games 200 goals won 3 FA cups in 51,52 and 55 Colin Veitch 321games and 49 goals captained NUFC to 3 league titles in 1905,1907,1909 and FA Cup win in 1910 as well as cup runners up in 1905,1906,1908 and 1911 Peter Beardsley 320 games and 119 goals Bobby Mitchell 408 games and 113 goals won 3 FA cups in 51,51 & 55 Alan Shearer 395 games and 206 goals Hughie Gallagher 174 games 143 goals and captain of last side to win the Div 1 championship. Total of 3955 appearances and 859 goals, 7 Div 1 league winners, 10 FA cup wins, 2 fairs cup winners ….

i know its hard to pick players that you've never seen but when you are picking the greatest NUFC of all time you have to go back in history and players like Milburn etc are obvious picks but the first name on the list has got to be Colin Veitch. The captain and best player during NUFC's golden period in its history. Veitch captained the successful United side which won League Championships in 1905, 1907 and 1909, the FA Cup in 1910 and were FA Cup finalists in 1905, 1906, 1908 and 1911.

i'm still shocked that people like brazilianbob think we are showcasing "sportsdirect arena". Ashley has never had any intention of selling the rights, if he was someone would have took up the offer by now as its being "showcased" for over 2 years now! SJP is being used as a giant Advertising board for his company!
-
Wonder if anyone will? Like the diplomatic name chosen for the ground are they talking about the writing of St James' Park or the vandalism of putting sports direct on the wall. if its sports direct then i think i could help as i know who done that one.
