    Harry Redknapp

I beg to differ. If he gets found guilty the amount of money involved falls in to the custody bracket. You could probably draw a parity with the kind of sentences MPs have been getting for fiddling their expenses. The ones who went to trial used a similar defence as well that they were ignorant to the ins and outs of what was required. Some of those MPs also claimed health issues and never got their sentences suspended. I also think this might just be the tip of the iceberg and other matters may come to the forefront on the back of this. It really seems a bit fishy that Peter Storrie was also charged in relation to this and yet there has been no mention of him. That usually indicates he may have pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing, so it'll be interesting to see how this pans out. They take this seriously and Lester Piggott and ken Dodd who are similar age to harry went down.
  2. we've already got a hotel booked on the saturday and train tickets sorted for Arsenal!! cheers sky, thats that weekend f**cked up. 4 of us going, taking the wags who were going off shopping or see a show while we went to the match.
  3. Were Zambia the team back in the world cup in the 70's when the lad ran out of the defensive wall and booted the ball away when Brazil were taking a free kick?
  4. i'm actually looking on the negative and still gutted with Liverpool and Stoke losing we have missed a huge opportunity to break away from those clubs with that 2nd half capitulation.
  5. Zambia are rather good, my mood has changed cos when i pulled them out the hat in our office sweep yesterday i thought i had a dud!! if they keep playing like this i might get a decent run for my money.

    James Perch

Don't want him at centre half, think he's a liability however i have to say when he has come on in games and played in midfield i don't think he's done much wrong, he comes on, gets his foot in and just keeps it simple. I've just read some of the match thread today and the OTT reaction to him coming on was ridiculous. While some might have queried why he replaced Guthrie, before people jump up and down and complain its worth remembering that Guthrie was a slight doubt before the game, as was Cabaye so no suprise they were taking off in the 2nd half with the game out of reach.

    Shola Ameobi

normally defend him but his last two games have been very poor, it was a toss up today though for who was worse Shola or Best, both hopeless although at least Shola had a couple of efforts on goal.
  8. Lets hope Zambia are a quality out fit and win, ideally against a Senegal team with Ba and Cisse sitting on the bench. The sooner Senegal get knocked out and we have Ba and Cisse up front instead of Best and Shola the better.
  9. unbelievable game, can't believe we can go for being so good in the 1st half too so horrendously bad in the 2nd...we were fantastic in the first half, totally dominating them and deservedly going in 1 nil up at half time, should really have been two as Colo should have scored. While we had other decent efforts the HBA shot and Shola's two efforts(header and shot from edge of the box) were comfortable saves. 2nd half was just a shambles, only thing missing was a red card and we were lucky not too get one as Santon and Krul could easily have gone when giving away the penalties. The first pen was the turning point, don't think it was a pen, dubious foul and if it was a foul then it was outside the box. Worst thing was though is that the ref didn't give it, when the players hit the deck Mason waved play on and from the side on replay i delibrately looked at the lineswoman to see if she flagged and she didn't, well not straightaway, she might of when the camera switched. It was probably 15 seconds later following Duff's appeal when he pointed to the spot. Very poor from the ref. In saying that, one poor decision shouldn't set us back like it did and from the moment Murphy scored we fell apart and were all over the place. Although it was partly due to Sidwell's injury fair play to Jol's two subs as bringing on Johnson and then Baird helped them massively and not for the first time we couldn't handle Andy Johnson.... hopefully his rumoured tranfer to Blackburn doesn't go through or we could get flashbacks in the next game....

    LOL at Lolro

he reckons Arsenal v Man U will be goalless!! i'll be amazed if both of those defences keeps a clean sheet, i think the game is guaranteed goals.

    Danny Guthrie

Once Smith is shown the door, £10k a wk of Smith's wage should be put towards Danny's new contract.

    U23s & Academy

very good first half performance, played some lovely stuff and scored 2 excellent goals but were poor in the 2nd half. Good win though and now home to QPR in the next round. Thought Knight was excellent and Streete and Miele were the the other stand out performers. Campbell didn't have the best of nights though.

    Sunderland...

famously said whilst SAFC chairman that he wished Sunderland fans were as good as Newcastle's!! :-)
  14. i'm slighly concerned that the doc says its not too serious cos when HBA went off injured in the states i'm pretty sure the initial comment at half time by the doctor was also not serious.....and HBA was out for a couple of months!!

    Sunderland...

Cos Martin O'Neill is a genius and apparently has a good record in cups!
  16. Have stopped for the time being as it's too time consuming a process. thats a pity, i've been logging on there site all week wanting to read the man u report and the preview for the QPR game.
  17. there's some highlights on YT of the game, you don't see Tiote get sent off but you do see him on the ground with the Tunisia player in a headlock!

    Ravel Morrison

He scored twice against us last season when the reserves got hammered away to Man U. I'm not sure if that is a good sign or not cos when Man U beat us again in the home game Obertan scored twice for them!!

    Ravel Morrison

i'd say for under a million it is worth a go but do have slight concerns about his off field activities, especially with the off field distractions that Newcastle city centre has too offer. So easy to spend more time partying than concentrating on football.
  20. If they got him, I think between him & Yakubu they'd just about get enough goals to get out of trouble. scoring goals hasn't really been there problem though, its the other end that has caused them to be in the relegation zone
  21. should be a shoe in for HBA to win but for some reason i can see Mendy's goal for Macclesfield winning.
  22. one of his strengths has always been his attacking though, he's a fullback in the "Cafu" mould, loves to bomb on from fullback. In saying that i'd never seen him as a RW though. Suppose its all good for his development although i think the club might have preferred to see him tested as a defender.
  23. We need Smith shipped out asap and then use some of Smith ridiculous wage to give Ba a new deal with a nice pay rise and no clause.
