thats the weird thing about Jonas, doesn't score enough but when he does score he finishes with such ease you are left thinking how doesn't he get 10-12 a season.
-
Nope. ESPN might but i doubt there coverage is much better than ITV's
-
Bloody bin dippers next? i can understand Swindon v Wigan and Macclesfield v Bolton as its premier teams with tricky looking away games at lower league clubs but showing liverpool at home to Oldham from the night before that was also live on TV is just taking the piss!!
-
i said it earlier but with it being 3rd round day, the cameras would have been sent to places like Swindon and they'll feature the potential upsets as the main games. Only right really, just a nightmare for NUFC fans who have waited all day to see the goal!!
-
Would thought it might have been shown on French tv by now and one of our french posters would have uploaded the vid by now or given us a link.
-
Mark McGhee v Bradford?? although he was at a slower pace Last goal i can think of when a NUFC has beaten half a team before scoring.
-
Anyone at home although wouldn't mind Boro away. cheap away day and we have a great record down there.
-
10:45. Expect our highlights to be taken on a handheld camera and amounting to no more than 2 minutes of footage, with no replays of goals (seriously, it's ITV ffs). i wouldn't be suprised if that happens, for all we were an all premiership game its FA cup 3rd round day and they will focus on the games that had the potential upsets so expect us to be on near the back after the likes of Macclesfield V Bolton, MKDons v QPR etc
-
we've scored 2 today and created chances. I'd be more concerned if we weren't creating cos where Ba might score with his only chance, the likes of Best and Shola probably need 3 chances to get one goal.
-
They cant be, some daft c*** on here said he was useless. it takes a special kind of idiot to slag off a players perfomance when not even watching the game!!
-
exactly, De Gea price as got to be the benchmark for any potential price we put on Krul's head, he's a better keeper and a full international (don't think de gea is but could be wrong)
-
Shola and HBA to play upfront and as long as they can repeat their 30 minute performance together that they had against Spurs for about 4 games in a row then when Ba comes back we'll be sitting pretty in the champions league spots!
-
well one things for sure, we couldn't have got the 2nd half of the season off to a better start, lets hope we kick on.
-
whats the story with strawberry syrup?
-
Top marks to the manager, 100% correct in everything he did tonight and set the team up brilliantly. Thank god he doesn't listen to some of the people on here!! :-)

well as we are about to start the 2nd half of the season in a position probably not many of us thought we would be in, 7th place on 30 points, how are we going to do in the reverse fixtures? and will we cope with Tiote and Ba while they are on international duty?? Are you feeling confident or fearing for a slide back into the pack? For me i think our home form will be vital if we want to maintain our current position, maximum points must be taken against the likes of QPR, Norwich, Wolves, Bolton, Villa. Avoid defeat against Stoke and the mackems, i'd love 3 points in the derby but will be happy to avoid defeat. Then hope to pick something up against Man U, City and Liverpool. i can't see us getting anything from the away games at Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea but think the key to the season will be how we do in the away games against Blackburn, Fulham, Wigan and West Brom, all winnable but places where we haven't done well over the years. The other away games against Everton, Swansea are also tough. I would like to think we can pick up around 25 points but think our season is going to be defined in the 7 league games after tomorrows game with Man U, apart from the game at Spurs the rest are pretty winnable. Massive run of games especially without 2 of our most important players until possibly the last 2 but if we get a decent return it will set us up for a good 2nd half and a top 7 finish, Everton finished 7th last season with 54 points although the previous season Liverpool finished 7th on 63 points but in our relegation season 53 points were enough for Fulham to get 7th.
-
nothing to worry about, both in the middle of the park and getting stuck in and with refs these days you will also pick up bookings, some of the yellows both players have had this season have been a joke. they now can pick up 10 before any suspensions kick in as well.
-
of course it mattered come full time, goals change games and when they scored we were probably having our best phase of the game and were keeping possession well. If that free kick hadn't been awarded you have no idea how the game would have finished. We could even have broken away from the tackle and scored you never know.
-
Only positives from tonights shambles were Colo and Tiote didn't get booked so now free from suspension as the 5 yellow cards ban expires now. Just hope the FA doesn't to a retro ban via video evidence after the elbow, they shouldn't as don't think it was delibrate. At least we managed a goal tonight but still don't understand what happens to our team when we step out on the Anfield pitch, its been like groundhog day for the last 6 visits we just fall apart and give them soft goals aided by a generous refereeing decision somewhere along the line thrown in. The only time we played a little bit of possession football early in the 2nd half when it was 1-1, we knocked it about and probed for a good 20 passes but while i was there clapping along and thinking this is better, lets keep the ball and take the sting out of the game etc the rest of the pub were screaming for us to get the ball into the box, then the same people whinge that we were shite and get lumping it long.....unbelievable.
-
i'd be happy with Williams coming in, bit like Ridgwell in that he can play in a few positions.
-
He's only away for 3 or 4 weeks not 3 months! Bearing in mind one of those weeks will be the FA cup weekend he's only going to miss 3 games(i think, don't quote me!) I know its not good that he's away and its a worry but someone will step up, Shola and Best may not be the most prolific but they can come in and do a job for a few games, my preference would be Shola.
-
i think Onouha is a sensible target, shouldn't be too expensive and is more than capable at fullback and centre half which is handy with a squad as thin as ours.
-
Always been told that its bad luck to change the name of your home. Beginning to believe its true, look at NUFC since the name change... no wins, 2 players out for the season, other injuries, suspensions, poor refereeing decisions like Luiz not been sent off, hitting the woodwork at the leazes more than the net etc etc Ashley has jinxed us!!!
-
knowing our luck they'll probably go all the way to the final and play the Ivory Coast and Ba get clattered by Tiote with the impact injuring both of them....
-
better suited to the "number 10" position than HBA.
