  1. A fantastic start to the season and the whole atmosphere around the club and with the fans is brilliant. The start has exceeded our expectations however, if was important for us to get off to a good start, as why i wouldn't necessarily say we had easy games, we had games that we'd have said were winnable when the fixtures came out and getting the points on the board is a bonus for when we fave the tough games in November . The feel good factor though isn't just with the first team as we also have the reserves with the prospect of going top of the reserve league above Man U should they win their game in hand against Bolton this week which i expect them to do. The under 18 academy side beat the mackems 4-0 at the weekend to also go top of the league as well. It is probably a sign of how far we have come and how good the start has been when we are now debating about whether or not the likes of Raylor and Best should keep their place in the side.....if someone had predicted that before the season started you'd have said he/she was mental!!

If you aren't playing him neither in premier league games nor reserve games, then when will he play ? He bloody needs to have some matches under his belt and to find again some confidence. I would play him in the premier league games. So you'd throw a player who has been out of action for 1 year straight into Premier league games after only carling cup game?
  3. Did you not see Krul and Saylor at the other end like not to mention Tiote who were all better than Best. No they weren't. Saylor had his worst game of the season by a distance. whatever.
  4. Think we should all wait to the internationals have been played and see who is fit to play before we start guessing at the team. Hopefully we wont but we might pick up injuries. Bit of a bonus we play on the Sunday as that at least gives Jonas more recovery time from his 2 games and flight back from South America.

Loads of need, amazed he didn't play against Swansea this week, he's training but needs games, he's been out a year and needs match fitness/sharpness as well as general fitness.
  7. I'd rather Pardew didn't play those "deserving" when he has better players chomping at the bit. You need that ruthless streak at this level, Keegan certainly had it when he ditched Kelly and Peacock. Pardew needs to also prove that he's got it. Ditching Kelly and Peacock was totally different, that was after the season had ended and we were bringing in new players for the following season, the current side is currently sitting 3rd in the league, unbeaten and has the best defence in the country(well it was before kick off). I want to see Santon and HBA in the side but you can't justify changing the team when its on such a run. I caught an interview on the radio with Pardew about 10 days ago when he was commenting about team changes and loyalty to players, said something along the lines of when he was a player he hated seeing players who were playing well replaced by other players and said as a manager he put alot of faith in being fair to his players and is loyal to players in possession of the shirt who are doing the business. Plus we have built up this great team spirit and bond, changing the team and replacing players who are playing well could disrupt the harmony, its easy to answer the players on the bench if they moan about not being in the side cos all you've got to do is point to the league table and say we are unbeaten, bit different explaining to players in an unbeaten side why you've dropped them. Imagine the stick pardew would get if he makes 2 or 3 changes and we lose!

went and watched the academy derby earlier, very enjoyable game, first half was a pretty tight affair, Sunderland probably edged the early part before NUFC got more into in and had a penalty shout midway through the half when Campbell burst through. Sunderland should probably have took the lead soon after when they had a shot cleared off the line. We took the lead when a clearance upfield dropped to Campbell, who picked the ball up in between the SAFC midfield and defence before slipping a lovely ball through for the on running McCorrigan who neatly chipped the ball past the onrushing keeper. Sunderland started the 2nd half strongly and hit the post, although credit to Baird in the goal for making a cracking save before the Adam Campbell took over as he blew away Sunderland, who had struggled to live with his pace all game, took over the game. Firstly he burst down the right hand side and crossed for Hoganson to score to score at the back post, almost from the kick off he picked the ball up again before slipping the ball through for JJ Hooper to score and then scored a fantastic goal. A Sunderland corner or free kick was cleared and Campbell picked the ball up about 15 yards from his 18 yard box, turned and then just sprinted the length of the pitch, swept past 3 or 4 defenders while the rest were left in his wake before rifling a rasping shot from about 16 yards into the net leaving the keeper no chance. 3 goals in about 5 minutes and it was game over. Thought Streete and Storey were solid at the back while slightly disappointed with the fullback, especially as both Nicholson and Riley have featured for the reserves and are better than they were today. Dennis Knight looked a decent player in the middle of the park, cracking left foot and spread the ball well. First time i've seen Hooper, big strong lad but didn't really play that well, was steady but nothing special although took his goal well.
  9. always better to be lucky than good!! have sky said which game is the game of the day.

its all ifs and buts but if we go to wolves and win 2 or 3 nil and best and ba are among the goals i can't see how with the team on such a good run and playing well can be broken up to fit in Ben Arfa and Santon for the next game just cos they are fit. They will have to bide there time and wait for an opportunity.

me too, always rated him ever since i saw him make his debut for the reserves against Liverpool. The lad is a class act but for some reason Pardew hasn't took to him although injuries have played a part.
  15. I'd love Man City to just let Tevez rot, well as much as you can rot on his wages but in a football sense just see out his contract and not use him, they can afford it. Just make it train on his own or with the kids, every time he refuses, fine him and give the money to charity. He really is a disgrace to the game and his profession and be good to see him miss out on probably the best years of his career due to his shitty attitude, no world cup in 2014, miss the copa america.

If Dummett and Kadar are also playing there's alot of left siders in that team, presume Kadar will get another runout at right back and Dummett in the middle, Santon left back, Fergie on the wing and Sammy moved from the wing to up front.
  17. He deserves an international recall but from a NUFC point of view i hope he doesn't get one. With our lack of numbers at the back, its more beneficial for him to get his feet up and rest for a week or so than go half way round the world to play for Argentina.

    Sunderland...

can anyone bring up all the Bruce emails from this season. I'd try and dig them out myself but am at work.... :-)
  19. anyone on here calling him The Dreamboat or just Lee Ryder!?
  20. Do you not think the fact Santon has barely played any football this season will mean he's a bit off the pace as well?? Best Santon can hope for is a place on the bench, hopefully he'll get 90 mins under his belt for the reserves against Swansea and comes through with no setbacks.

Ridiculous statement. Yes but then you see who said it and then its just dismissed.
  22. New song should be the old Supermac/jesus Superstar song DEMBA BA SUPER STAR HOW MANY GOALS HAVE YOU SCORED SO FAR??
  23. We played another of our bogey teams in the last home game and we comfortably beat Fulham, expecting a similar victory against Blackburn. If Givet plays at left back, he's the weak link, watched both there games against Arsenal and Fulham and both those clubs had joy down that side as Hoilett doesn't track back and give Givet any protection.
  24. like the last home game against Fulham another of our bogey team, they have an excellent record up here, don't care how we play just make sure they get a win by hook or by crook, be a real downer if we slip up after getting the two draws on the road, 3 points are a must as we need to rack up as many points as we can before the end of October when we play top teams.
