Hopefully he shows no ill effects from tonights run out and get him another 75 minute run out for the reserves next week at Swansea.
-
For all the likes of Marveaux impressed tonight, last week was our best performance of the season so far and i'd be suprised if Pardew made any changes for Blackburn.
-
ah man was watching the soccer special stream and it was on SS1 now stuck with football asia as ssn show our goals!! typical
-
To be fair he's been out all season, only had the run out against Norwich and now gone into extra time!!
-
Sammy is perfect here in extra time, gets it and just runs at them.
-
me too, big powerful player, will just smash perch and colo
-
seeing that we need a goal i'd have preferred Best coming on than Obertan.
-
no they don't. Why not? fitness wise, No way HBA is ready to start a premier league match, needs to be eased back in after over a year out injured.
-
Gosling apparently on the right, Abeid is in the middle doing the holding job i think.
-
He might be shite but Lovenkrands goals to games ratio is top notch!!
-
i'd start him, easier to control how long he plays for. We can look to give him 45 mins but he might then decide he feels strong enough to possibly play for an hour. if he starts on the bench he may have to stay there if injuries happen or he comes on like Marveaux did and the game goes to extra time and he ends up having to play longer than planned. Plus its easier to get the pace of the game when you start.

loved this bit from interview.... “I was all right at school, to be fair,” he said. “I got an A in English, 3 Bs, 6 Cs and one E. That was in French, which I sort of regret now. If I’d known all the French players that Newcastle were going to bring in over the summer I might have stuck at it!” Whatever the language barrier, there remains one friendly face in the dressing room. “I have a lot of respect for Shola. He’s a big, big role model for me – both on and off the field,” he said. “It’s more respect than that usual thing that brothers have. I’ve never fought with Shola once, even when I was younger. But then, have you seen the size of him?! “I look to him for the standards of professionalism. He’s always in early for training, he’s always at a high level in training too. I’m working to be at those same levels - I want to be like him. But a better footballer!

Just seen on .com that Swansea are charging £10 to watch the reserves on the 29th!!! Unbelievable.
-
I'm more than happy having £2m Leon Best playing up front than if we'd spent £7m on Shane Long.
-
Henderson couldn't lace cabaye's boots man. they are leagues apart.
-
how longs left in the Barca game?

Another goal today and you can't knock his goals record at the minute. One thing i would say is even though he got the goal today he should have buried the initial header, you can't miss free headers from inside the 6 yard box, if it had come back off Givens legs and back to a defender and cleared he'd be getting slated on here now!!

Again, not sure he was even watching. Still not an excuse to bring on Shola! Should have chosen somebody else. the Shola bashing is getting stupid. He came on and did exactly what we needed at the time. He held the ball up well, helping us keep possession and linking up with the midfield and enabled us to hit them on the break late on. Had one decent shot with his left foot as well although from the angle would have been unlikely to score from it. All these on here saying he done nothing and was a waste of space need there eyes checked.
-
how did kadar do bearing in mind he was playing right back? did he look fit or overweight?
-
given that kenny was about to spray the ball out it may have been a good "professional" decision. I did actually say that to my dad at the time but changed my mind when i saw the replay.
-
i would probably start him on Saturday but i think he'll be left on the bench, probably come on for another 20-30 min runout and Pardew will be looking to start him against Forest in the cup. Looking at it from both sides, for the development of the player another runout from the bench followed by a start and say a 60-70 minutes against Forest is probably the right thing for getting the player back fit and playing again after so long out injured but for the team sake his pace and creativity is something that is needed immediately.

Thought he had another very good game tonight although picked up a stupid yellow card when he pulled back Kenny. With him and Colo our only fit centre backs we can really do without either of them picking up needless petty yellow cards and moving 1 step nearer to a suspension. If my centre half is going to get a yellow card in a game i at least want it to be for something constructive like say wiping out Bent or N'Zogbia on Saturday with a crunching challenge that puts them out the game.
