  1. As bad as we have been at times, at least the effort seems to be there.  We're showing a little bottle when called upon.

And if WBA are presumed to be the class of the Championship, we really ought to do quite well this season.  We are in shambles off the pitch, with no owner, manager, or plan for success - and with a squad down to its bare bones - and we're comfortably the better side at the Hawthorns (save for some truly shocking defending).

  2. Finally the man is at peace.  My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.  What a legend.  I always loved his enthusiasm and passion for the game and for Newcastle United in particular.  Always inspired me and it gave me a real sense of joy when he was our manager.

  3. The Profitable Group can confirm that it has expressed an initial interest in acquiring Newcastle United. A preliminary discussion with the representatives appointed to handle the sale of the club has been held but contrary to some reports no direct talks have been held with either the Owner, Mike Ashley, or the Chairman, Derek Lambias.

The Group consider the leaking of The Group's interest in this matter unfortunate, and as supporters of Newcastle United seek only to serve in the best interests of the cluib, the fans and the local community.

The Group will not be making any further comment at the present time.

If the proofreading of a simple statement is anything to go by, the Profitable Group is off to a roaring start.

  4. In terms of business it makes absolute sense to cash in on him now, he didn't want to be here and he's starting to get on a bit. It's the sentimental side of it that sucks, eleven years at the club and he's finally decided to chuck in the towel, just wish he'd held out for the big club he deserved

Think this sums it up for me.

On his day the best shot stopper I've watched.

  5. Among the many problems here is that this expected result continues to put the club into a greater and greater downward spiral.

As we fail to achieve results, we creep closer to relegation and the uncertainty within the squad grows.  As we look less attractive to a potential buyer, Ashley's continued insistence on making megabucks on any potential purchase of the club looks less and less likely, meaning he just won't sell up.  If he doesn't sell up, we will not have a stable manager, and without a stable manager, we won't get any results...and the whole spiral begins anew, only deeper.

I've never felt this resigned to failure before.  But I have never wanted to be wrong more in my life.

  7. Provided there's an adequate replacement in the works (and KK's quotes seem to indicate there is), I'm not all that concerned.  Sounds like he had a bit of an attitude problem and he wanted away.  We've made the best of a bad situation.  He is not irreplaceable by any means.
