In our 1988-89 relegation season, I remember we shocked everyone by winning 1-2 at Anfield with Mirandhina scoring the winner then running behind the goal kissing the badge in front of the Kop. No-one expected that at the time.  Would'nt it be great if our new Brazilian was to reprise that role only this time we don't get relegated.  

I'm still here! been celebrating the departure of Ashley since Thursday. This will be a tough game as the rest of the league will want us relegated by Christmas. The first time I saw this fixture was 1968 when we lost  1-3 to a Spurs side with Jimmy Greaves. Wyn Davies was my hero then.  Born in 1956 the year after our last major domestic trophy the FA cup in 1955 I now have renewed hope of actually seeing us winning one of the big ones in my lifetime. Roll on January & stay out of the bottom 3.

I had written this lad off but have to say he was excellent against Everton. always involved, creative and actually tackling back leaving opponents Writhing in a heap on a couple of occasions although their play acting was outrageous. No wonder half our team was booked. If Atsu can maintain this level of performance he could stay in the side.

I think this lad is playing well and was particularly good at Brighton. Some of the criticism, not so much on here, is way over the top imo.

So the MOTD2 Brighton wankfest completely ignored the stamp incident and never even mentioned it??!!

Anyone remember Ray Stubbs one man crusade to get Cabaye retrospectively banned after the match at Brighton in 2012. He seemed to devote half the tv programme to it.

Cardiff used to have seriously bad hooligan fans. Lets hope they let us celebrate, everyone behaves, and a good time is had by all.

Arry will be our hero for one match only. Perfect timing to lift them against Huddersfield.

Apparently since Mcgeady signed for them he has been in the best form of his life. A 50K crowd will be just nice motivation for someone like him especially if we are muted and grumbling at our own team. We need to make it hostile and uncomfortable for him and his team and get behind our own.

Looking forward to Coleshill Town v South Shields FA vase semi final tomorrow as I live 20mns drive from the ground. Will have radio and earphones on following our score v Fulham at the same time of course.

We had chances to win this with two thunderous shots from Shelvey and a couple also from Ritchie and Murphy. The team were set up to allow Reading plenty of possession in harmless areas without ever getting behind our rigid defence. Hence they passed it around their own half a lot with no penetration accept for a flurry immediately after the restart and also clipping the bar with the last kick of the game. Colback was a key component in holding the midfield shape, he did his job well as did Dummet at the back and neither of them got booked surprisingly. Gamez was ok but their number 12 ran past him too easily towards the end of the 2nd half, although our set up meant there was usually cover on. The team are obviously very well organised and Rafa has them well drilled in keeping the other side at bay away from home. An excellent point from a place where most others will struggle.

We can do this. Plenty of time left.

These went 3-0 up at derby a couple of weeks ago so they are obviously quick starters.

Living down here in Aston Villa territory, I'm looking forward to mingling with the locals this morning. Feeling like the fox in the chicken pen.
