  1. Sounds like nonsense - should only apply to open cases? With a jury? Anyway, fair point, but there's always going to be some give and take in this situation. It's already been made quite clear that the current regime have no problem banning journalists, so local rags are hardly going to risk slating them (BBC should always be impartial too).
  2. Someone at EA is currently crying into their keyboard thinking of all the commentary that is going to need to be re-recorded. Why? He's not sacked by EA. He's sacked by Sky Sports. Most of the Fifa commentary is taken from real games. EA might not fancy using him again, tarnished reputation and that... Tiger? Rooney? Hardly got a track record of taking the moral high ground.
  3. I am having the same problem. This news must be so big that it cant cope! Fine for me
  4. Okay, I get it Ash. Still not so sure tho.... pleading not-guilty and then being found guilty is bound to have a heavier sentence than pleading guilty in the first instance.
  5. No no, they've given him the ban. He is appealing the ban. therefore if frivolous, +1 game. That's my understanding.
  6. Fair play for sticking to your guns, but straight out calling you a jerk felt classless.... Seriously, if you want him banned you can't have ever seen the reserves play. Scary.
  7. His mistakes outweigh his few good performances. Ridiculous. Have you even seen any games this season? But we didnt spend much money for him, so he must be rubbish & getting "found out" at this level obviously. Where as Colo's just been unfortunate at times, but his class will show through. Cos peeps makes predecided opinions on things & likes to sway back towards them whenever possible. Its nothing to do with how much we have paid for him. His mistakes have cost us points this season and he has made more mistakes than most of the side. Hopefully he'll get a three match ban. Putting the jerk into knee-jerk there son....
  8. I'd like to think that when buying a player for some not insignificant coin (£5-6m, iirc?), it's assumed that you're going to want to play him more than 10 times.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

    Surely Milner was our Milner?
  10. That deal's about to run out..........
  11. Could barely hit the target in the fucking warm up knockabout drills. Worrying.

    RIP sale thread.

The modern day Keyser Soze. Kevin Spacey with a limp? Nono, Kevin Spacey without the limp.
  13. Was this thread inspired by the fact that some plank at SSN has let a trailer for 'The Firm' go out tonight between reports re: West Ham v Millwall? I gawped.
  14. I thought Robbie Elliott had quit? Is that not him on the right? Has to work one month's notice.
  15. Did Kinnear just say a move to Everton fell through last Jan? Fuck me.

    The Villa

Personally, I would rather compete for trophies, but there is no getting away from the fact that the top four these days is the holy grail of football, so it distorts matters, and normally logical people do illogical things. I don't like it, and I genuinely wish it wasn't like that, but it is. My argument is that you shouldn't blame people like O'Neill (who effectively is judged on how close he gets us to the top four), but people like the FA, UEFA, Sky and all the clueless f***ing buffoons who, step by step, are turning the game into a spectacle with the sporting value of Gladiators and the integrity of the bird on her knees at a bukkake party. HEY! Leave her alone.......
