For me I'd hold onto Emre as we are short of real creativity anyway. It is much easier to pick up another clogger if we need one.

Why is it so difficult to get Emre to push up a bit? This seems a mystery to me.

The thing is that in SerieA mf have a lot more time and space to play, which obviously suited Emre when he was there and in the Bundesliga, you get a little bit more of it than here in the PL. Tempo wise Italy is the slowest, closely followed by Spain. Football in England, Germany and Holland is much faster and a hell of a lot more closing down. Emre will look much better in Germany and then we will all wonder how we let him go.

The analysis of Dalglish amongst that lot is the hardest one. Although a sound appointment by CV alone, I would have had some reservations in the sense that he had the best backroom and staff perhaps in world football at his feet (at Liverpool) and won the title with Blackburn with a huge treasure chest.

Robson was on the shortlist for some time, he wasn't a lucky appointment, it was only lucky in the sense he came when he did and we really needed him.
