He's 28 years old, he has only scored 40 goals in his entire career and has achieved absolutely nothing; i doubt he's a 'vast improvement' on Ameobi, nevermind the relatively impressive Sibierski.
Because Le Sib has always been a goal machine? Not all striker score huge amounts of goals, when Bellamy was with us he was never really prolific but he offered a lot more to the team than goals. Not saying this lad is going to be the same but to write him off as a good player because he hasnt scored a shed load of goals is a bit blinkered! I bet Kevin Davies hasnt scored that many goals in his career but he is a key player for Bolton.
Nobody is writing him off ffs, they are simply highlighting/dissapointed by the fact that he does not have a great goal scoring record. A trait we are desparate for in the striking department.
And what loan striker did we believe would ever have a "great" goalscoring record?
