  1. The clown? The chain-smoking Italian left back who wasn't good enough for Souness or Pearce to take him for nowt?
  2. Back down to Earth? Do you think I'm being overly optomistic? I would hardly say thinking we might get 8th is owt over the top...thats where we finished in 2005.
  3. Obviously Spurs will. I also think Portsmouth are far too good at the back and will make Europe. Rest is speculation given how much is left to be done in the transfer market, this order could change in 2 seconds if someone signs a bit of quality. I think City will finish above Newcastle - Even if the transfer window closed tomorrow and we were both left with what we have I'd still reckon we would finish higher on the basis of what we have at the back. Guessing now, but all signs point to Sven bringing in some more quality (Elano? Castillo? Chiellini? Who knows - all very exciting but also very mysterious!). Outside of those 3, Everton don't look owt special but they didn't last season and still nearly made 5th. Could do well again but they're probably their for the taking for other improving teams. Villa need more signings at the back - and of a better standard than what they've bought so far. I think they'll probably do that eventually altho fucking off to the other side of the world doesn't really seem the best idea when you need signings, they could end up panic buying if they leave it too late. Like what they have at the other end tho- I reckon having Carew already settled in should be a big plus for them. Newcastle would do well to finish above any of the above teams given how little seems to be happening on the transfer front up there. West Ham are a bit shite imo. They bought a load of wank in january and the only player they have bought this summer that has turned my head is crocked. So by my guestimation: [Top 4] Spurs Portsmouth Villa City Everton Newcastle West Ham [The paupers/mugs - Blackburn, Bolton, Fulham etc] [The shite - Reading, Birmingham, Sunderland, Derby etc] Wigan

    Salgado.

Whats your HP on that? A right back is the last thing we need, and Sven has already ruled out signing 30 somethings.
  5. Pearce would have signed Mido FFS. End of discussion.
  6. Manchester Evening News Link BBC Link Santa Cruz...Dyer...Sven's expert bullet dodging continues
  7. Reading glory-glory, seems like he only came here because they never wanted him in the first place
  8. I wonder what the main reason is you give these rumours more credance than the Dyer rumour..... Guilty as charged.
  9. Rumour going round that we're going to be signing Martin Petrov and Manuel Fernandes Don't normally pay much attention to these things and wouldn't normally post it but the guy who posted has a track record (Called the signing of Geovanni well before anyone had heard of him) and has admitted who is source is (A City reserve team player no-one here would ever have heard of)...plus Fernandes is shit hot so I want it to be true
  10. What do you seriously think will happen with City regarding Dyer? Absolutely nothing.
  11. I have a question for the people who have been following this tournament. What do you think of the following players: Teerasil Daengda Suree Sukha Kiatprawut Saiwaeo ? Few Thais coming over to City on trial. Obviously a PR exercise, just wondering if any of them have any ability whatsoever
  12. Its in the Mail today. Turned down City, Newcastle and Everton cos he wants to go back to Arsenal. link
  13. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/newstadium/images/2007/edit-0707-STADIUM-in1.jpg That looks steep as owt! No way can that be safe?
  14. Fullbacks...Hreidarsson (wank) and Lauren(Past it?)...meh. Their midfield is alright tho - Taylor - Muntari - Mendes - O'Neill? 3 out of 4 are good players. And who knows, they might sign a better striker like Yakubu or Defoe. Remember seeing an interview with Harry not so long ago about how he had left the #9 shirt open...could happen. I'm convinced they're doing well anyway. Honestly don't think you need to be that good to qualify for Europe. Just solid and consistent. Everton got to 4th a few years back with absoultely nowt up front...Marcus Bent on his own FFS, similar story for Pompey this time I think. Not 4th, 7th maybe. I can feel it in me bones! blueyes.gif re; a lot of clubs spending money and going nowhere. I think that outside of the clubs who were already good, there's only one club who has done owt. I don't think there are many people gutted at missing out on Chopra, Koumas, Kamara or Ljungberg. We on the other hand, are going to do much better ( ). Tho I bet there are fans on other parts of the interweb saying "Who the fuck is Gelson? I'd rather have Etuhu." or "Who the fuck is Etuhu? I'd rather have Muntari?" or "Who the fuck is Muntari? I'd rather have Parker"...etc. The old blue tinted glasses are out in force...typical pre-season optimism and that.
  15. Portsmouth will be in europe this time next year. I'm absolutely convinced. They'll barely concede a goal all season. I don't think Nugent, Utaka, Kanu, Benjani and co are going to get many goals but I don't think they'll need them. Portsmouth will be the "Best of the rest" IMO. ...cue Sol Campbell breaking his legs and them getting relegated.
  16. See Specturms post in this thread. To be honest, any of these c***s should be able to hit a stationary ball into the corner of the goal with a reasonable amount of force. We shouldn't even have to debate if anyone of them would miss or not. The season before last and last season I was referring to. I think he has scored 6 out of 8. Conversion rate of 75% quite high. Right. I've racked my brain and have managed to come up with these 8 pens altho 2 of them are from cup games. 4 of them were taken by Barton (1 miss), 2 by Vassell (1 miss), and 2 by Samaras, 0 misses. 6 from 8 between them. The Barton one I forgot was away to Charlton about 18 months ago (we won 5-2 ). Drilled straight down the middle, keeper saved it, Barton first to the rebound. I think that must have counted on whatever stats page you're looking at.

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=478517&CPID=8&clid=43&lid=2&title=City+wait+on+Juve+duo&channel=football_home& They probably do want to sell - http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul17g.html At the moment it seems quite likely he's on his way here.
  18. From memory Barton's record is scored 2 missed 1. Sent the keeper the wrong way vs Brum Smashed in off the underside of the crossbar vs Arsenal Smashed one into orbit vs Villa ( ) There may be more...I can only remember two other penalties (Taken by Vassell and Samaras) in the past two seasons since Robbie Fowler disappeared. I wouldn't give him the responsibility myself, don't think he's that good at em. Concur with the opinion that Owen is minging at penalties - Scoring regularly is irrelevant if you don't have the penalty technique down to a T. Henrik Larsson scored a bajillion a season in Scotland but he still missed half the time.

Where did you get that from...? re; Chiellini, Gazetta de la Sport have reported this story, and it looks like it could happen (Along with another Juve player called Blasi) - altho most transfer rumours about City this summer have not happened and what has happened has not been rumoured. About the player, I can only remember seeing him once (vs England u21 not so long ago) and I wasn't impressed, but I've heard some nice things...wouldn't think he's worth that much tho, especially considering we've already got a perfectly competent left back.
  22. Hahaha, what a fucking joke. Darren Fletcher plays in a team where is only responsibility is "Please Darren, don't be complete and utter wank today" - and its highly debatable whether or not he's successful at that. The mind boggles as to how shite he would be in an ordinary side. Good fucking grief. I pity the poor SOB's who end up with this clown.
