Aye, I understand apathy or even antagonism towards the regime, but I can't get behind celebrating when the other team scores like. Even more so when it's one of the plastic, money clubs like City scoring.
-
Shelvey tried to close him down tbf. Took him ages to get out though, on his heals as ever.
-
Dodgy VAR decision aside, PSG were lucky to get a draw out of that like, thought they were awful for large parts of the match.
-
He was absolutely miles from getting the ball like. Definite red if it wasnt called back IMO. The "foul" in midfield was soft but technically a foul It was technically a foul, but it's ridiculous to bring play back so many phases. Can they rewind to any infringement they can find since the ball last went dead?
-
That's a terrible use of VAR, how far back do you want to bring the play?
-
Disgraceful first half hour.

Aye, ASM uses the ball pretty well to be honest. He's set up a fair few chances already for Willems and the two attackers alongside him. Definitely isn't a "head down and run" type of player like Obertan or someone, that's unfair to him.
-
I think Maximin will bang a few in as the season goes on, thought he was actually a bit unfortunate with the one that hit the bar - if you watch it back the ball takes a slight bounce just as he makes contact with it. Still should have scored like, but a bit unlucky nonetheless. Joelinton will probably get five or six by the end of the season. Almiron is absolutely cursed, don't think he'll ever score.
-
Aye, I enjoyed it as a spectacle. We play some good stuff at times tbh, especially out wide; if the front three could finish even a third of the time we'd be comfortably in the top ten by the end of the season.
-
I like him as a player but he'll never score more than ten goals in a season. Just isn't a natural striker either technically or positionally. Would be a good foil for a decent striker.
-
We're a bizarre team to watch like. Somehow managed to strike a perfect balance between looking quite good going forward but looking like we'll never score.
-
Sorry, but you can’t blame anyone else for missing those howling sitters. You have to finish one on ones when you have that much time through on goal. Finishing was fucking shite and he will need to work on it. If he was a competent finisher he'd be playing for a top club tbh. Those one on ones are why he's here. Again hes 22 and as much as I hate this club at the moment, the whole "if he was good he would be playing elsewhere", arguement is tiresome. That suggests there are no good players outside of the top 4/6 or whatever. Besides which, if he adds goals and assists, people will start saying, "we wont hold onto him for long." This club is depressing AF. They are either shite or good but about be flogged. True mind. He's technically excellent, lightening quick, strong, direct and full of confidence running at defenders - it's not some tired cliché to say if he'd displayed with some competency that he could finish with composure as well at the age of 22, he would most certainly have been snapped up by a top club; especially in the current market where players like him are bought "just in case" they happen to turn good.

Saint Maximin is quality mind; there's a lot to dislike about this club but I can't help but enjoy watching him. He's genuinely an end product away from having all the tools to become borderline world class. At times he looks unplayable.
-
If ASM had end product he'd be a great player. Love how direct he is.

It’s the sort of tackle you make where you don’t want to hurt yourself. Easy to use going for the ball as an excuse. I don't agree with that like. You could see by his face that he wasn't expecting to make contact in that way, he grimaced as soon as he did it.
-
Red card, but calling it a coward's tackle is a bit daft like his studs are high but it clearly wasn't malicious, just clumsy.
-
Too slow for the premier league IMO. Wants more time on the ball than he has and needs to be vastly more decisive.
-
Aye, it'll be played up as a brave, battling one-nil defeat, but we've had absolutely no attacking game plan whatsoever.
-
Aye, Sunderland are a vastly bigger club than Millwall like, by pretty much any metric you could think of other than "league they currently play in".
-
Never mind laughing you little prick, what's all that about eh?
-
Thanks for your contribution. You're entirely right, not once in this board's 15 years of existence has a fan posting on here supported the team. We literally created the forum to breed and fester contempt within the community - that contempt is obviously nothing to do with the way the club is ran, but rather a reflection of the way the forum is ran. Based on the astute nature of your first and last post, I'm confident that you'll be a miss and a credit to skunkers or wherever you end up.

His decision making surprised me yesterday like, especially in the build up to the goal. Expected him to be an Obertan type, head down and run, but his forward passing in general looked surprisingly incisive.
-
If both stay fit I think Almiron will benefit from having Saint Maximin in the team in the same way that Perez benefited from having Almiron in the team.
-
Even ignoring the goal, he was very good today tbf. Good range of passing and a lot of energy in the middle. Certainly seems to be able to strike the ball too.
