  1. Must have missed all these "clangers". He's had another very good season IMO, uncomparable to last year. Put it this way, he's not been the best LB in the league so far. He hasn't, but at the same time, I still haven't seen many wingers getting the better of him.

How? I would say they were completely at fault. As tragic and sad as the situation is, if committing suicide was the natural response everyone had to being cheated on, the world would be quite empty. Affairs happen - it's ridiculous to blame the death entirely on the shoulders of two people, when the circumstances are completely unknown.
  3. What about all the profit he's made from transfers. Lol, WHERE DID THE MILNER MONEY GO FFS????????????????? Ah so you did mean it.
  4. "Carlos Tevez story is true . . written transfer request, considering quitting football altogether, homesick and unhappy"
  5. Apparently Tevez has handed in a transfer request due to his daughter being ill.
  6. Surely over the last few weeks the difference between Barton being in the team and Barton being out of the team has been highlighted, underlined and categorically circled in thick red ink? In short, that difference could potentially be the difference between leagues. If that's only worth £2-3 million then maybe relegation won't be so bad after all. I'd rather risk Barton's contract running out and lose him for free in 18 months than lose him now when we need his type of player desperately.
  7. Well we wouldn't get in anybody of Barton's quality, for a start.

    Llambias

Not sure why Allardyce would have a problem with Llambias? But anyway, as others have said, he's nothing more than a mouthpiece IMO. The shots are called by Ashley. Didn't Llambias not come to the club until after Allardyce left? Exactly. Mort sacked him.

    Kevin Nolan

It depends on what you call our best performances, Routledge and Jonas played on the wings against Villa with Barton in the middle and that is our best result of the season. I thought last week was one of our best performances and Routledge and Jonas both played against Chelsea. Fair comment. I tend to disagree with you and think Barton offers more on the right than any other player in our squad, based purely on his crossing ability, but there's an argument to be made for Routledge starting there as well - I personally think he's too inconsistent and too likely to flatter to deceive, though.

    Kevin Nolan

I'd settle for Barton through the middle and Routledge on the wing. Even though our best performances this season have probably been with Nolan in the center and Barton on the wing? I can't think of a more frustrating wing combination than Jonas and Routledge.

Does Barton not do that better when he's on form? Yes, but you could also argue that we need Barton on the right wing in order to give Carroll a supply line.

    Kevin Nolan

If nothing else, Nolan offers a link between midfield and attack, which is what we were sorely missing today. He wouldn't have sat anywhere near as deep as Guthrie did.
  15. Not sure how Chelsea "deserve" the goal - all they'd done until then was pass the ball about their midfield.
  16. Not much wrong with that valuation in the current market... Young English striker, carrying shit loads of hype, who's scoring goals in a poor team and generally giving defences a battering -- as long as we're still a premiership team, £25 million is not far away from what we should be looking for, especially if the likes of City come in.
  17. except always look a decent standrad premier centre half, something the jury is still out on with williamson. Is it? Williamson looks like a steady Premier League centre half to me. Certianly has more composure than Taylor. i disagree, taylor is much better on the ball and as good defensivly as williamson. No he isn't. Taylor is rash and gung-ho at the best of times - blood-and-thunder is not akin to "good defending".

Anyone told the toon-chavs that Neesy doesn't condone their actions? I can't see them smashing up any more cars if they're made aware of this. In fact, they'll probably reform and become successful doctors, lawyers and the like within only a few years. Thank God Neesy has finally spoken-out.

    I don't think EthiGeordie's a fake account. I could be wrong though.

    Dan Gosling

Wow, he's a huge midfield DESTROYER, he's about two foot bigger than the goals for fuck's sake.
  21. Pedantic post Dave, but why do you spell "crack" "craic" ? Crack has been a Geordie expression for as long as anyone knows and long, long before the Irish hijacked it and it became trendy to spell it "craic". Both spellings are fine. "Crack" would tend to refer to conversation, as in "did he have any crack?", whereas "craic" would generally refer to a fun pastime - mainly adopted in this sense by the Irish.
  22. Yeah because the hoofing from the other members of the back four is so constructive. So you'd rather we faffed on with the ball around our own box? Did you see Tiote's mistake on Wednesday? Tend to agree with you on this, although it's dependent on which player it is doing the faffing. I'm fine with Colo doing it, because he rarely fucks up... Enrique worries me a bit sometimes. Generally I prefer to see the ball passed out when possible though; hoofing it is generally the best way to gift the ball back to the opposition and encourage pressure.
  23. yawn It's true. They've found a way of playing that suits their players and it gets them the results they need. It's exactly what we need, as right now we don't have a Plan B. ... And yet they've still managed to lose seven games this season. Only Man U and Spurs have left the Britannia Stadium with 3 points this season - including Fulham and Blackburn. That's the form that will keep them up. Doesn't matter if the points come home or away, as long as they come.
