Some good passes today, but he gets bypassed far too easily and is unable to carry the ball at all; probably one of the least dynamic premier league midfielders I can think of.

If we'd given their away performance I'd be disappointed if we didn't come away with a point. They dug in pretty well IMO and crafted a few decent opportunities. Similar to our point against Brighton.

Shocking decision by the ref aside, a draw is probably fair. They had chances too and a good spell in the second half where our midfield completely vanished. Finishing was very poor. Sick of seeing Murphy coming on to the pitch, complete waste of space.

Anderson has had a few good cameos but I'm not convinced he should be starting yet. Correct decision by Howe to ease him in slowly.

Pope was down for a good while during injury time like. Ref was shite but I expected it to go about the length it did tbh.

Thought it was a decent performance all things considered. Away from home against a tricky team, missing key players, injuries picked up through the game... Yet we still had more than twice as many shots and dominated the ball. Not too many clear cut chances for either team though, so a draw is probably fair.

Some embarrassing comments in here mind not the best first half, but until the screamer we were pretty comfortable against one of the more difficult teams to play against in the league, with two of our key players missing. Certainly some poor individual performances but the overreaction is mental.

Would imagine we're downplaying his injury so clubs don't try to ramp up transfer fees on strikers even more than they already are. I don't think the extent of it will be revealed until we've got somebody in.

Decent result but not impressed with the performance like. Thought we were miles off it and completely lacked intensity, looked like we expected an easier game than we got. The need for quality in the attacking third has never been more obvious.

Agreed. Wouldn't argue with his performances under Howe being generally improved, but sooner or later he'll let us down with half arsed performances again. We also looked a lot more dynamic without him in the last few games. He's fine as backup.

It sounds good, but Maldini liked a slide tackle too, in fact he was one of the best at it.

Another good signing for Villa, the speed they're working at is what I would have liked to have seen from us tbh.

Regardless of what happens next, this bloke has pulled off one of the most important and - at one point - seemingly impossible tasks in our modern history. Club legend.
