It can be fine if you mix them in with a good balance of hungry, young players. The problem is we'd be integrating them with our current crop of players who are almost all on the decline.
-
Hopefully they can get this done, would be a great statement signing to open the window with. Bringing in someone like Trippier will undoubtedly have a snowball effect on attracting other players.
-
I've never seen him play and know nowt about him, but I'm still completely, unrelentingly confident that he's a vast improvement on what we've got.
-
Shoe-in has got to be one of the most common ones, see it on here canny frequently.
-
The bar isn't high, but easily one of the best midfield performances I've seen from one of our players in ages. Absolute monster today.
-
Aye, never thought I'd say it but Joelinton is genuinely the least of our problems at the minute.
-
Worth remembering that before today we'd only lost one match under Howe, like. It's perhaps understandable that he's stuck with Willock, Shelvey et al when the results have been improving a bit and the other options in midfield aren't exactly much more appealing. Let's see how he reacts to this result.
-
It's definitely fair to question the persistence with Shelvey and Willock like, but I'm not sure there's a pairing that would be much better. Every combination is just a different shade of shite
-
We're shit and in deep trouble, but we're not down until the teams around us start picking up points. We've said all along that we need to be in touch by January and that still applies tbh.
-
Really frustrating how slow and listless we've been on the ball against an off form, rattled Leicester like. Caused them absolutely no worries at all and allowed them to play the game at their leisure. Easy to twist about the ref and VAR but we've done nowt to help ourselves.
-
Willock has been absolutely Kennedy'd. Hard to comprehend the difference in his performance level this season. He's declined in every single possible aspect, on both a physical and technical level.
-
Lascelles aside, the rest of the team is well set up. Happy with the line up. Ritchie on the bench suggest Howe IS learning, contrary to some of the reaction on the previous page.
-
Poor performance but an expected result. Would have liked to have seen us have more of a crack at it, we were positive against Brenford but went right back into our shells today. We can't defend when we try to, so I'd rather see us just go gung ho in games like this where nothing is expected anyway. Hopefully Howe learns from his team selection mistakes quickly, Ritchie is a liability, the midfield pairing of Shelvey and Willock just offers nothing, and Fraser hasn't shown anything to say he should be a starter, one assist against Brentford doesn't change that. Lascelles should be nowhere near the team either and is only playing because he's captain. In terms of ability and mobility he's one of the worst defenders in the division and his lack of pace pulls the entire team back 10 yards to compensate.
-
The extremes on here man Was a much improved attacking performance, if we invest well in the defence in January and get some mobility in there with the addition of a dynamic central midfielder, we'll stay up IMO. 5 points isn't insurmountable.

Hasn't been great since Bruce left, but it could just be a coincidental poor run of form. A player of his type will always look lazy if it isn't happening for him or if he's marked out of the game. Let's give him a chance under a proper manager before we turn on him.
-
Doubt he would've went down if he could have stayed up, like. It was as easy a finish as he could ask for.

Superb ball for the red card tbf.

Absolutely pathetic end to the match, like. Failing to even test Dunk is a disgrace, particularly with that free kick from Shelvey, completely cowardly to just aimlessly float it in. Better second half but the job on Howe's hand with this lot is as big as I can remember seeing a new manager face for us.
-
Can't remember ever seeing us this slow, lethargic and passive in my entire time supporting the club. Jones is clearly piss poor as a manager, but these players are an absolute disgrace. Cowardly and inept on the ball, gutless and lazy off it.
-
If Howe can keep this lot up he wants a stand naming after him.
-
Soft penalty, but ridiculous tackle by Clarke that is probably worthy of a penalty in its stupidity.
-
Hope so, would rather play against an Everton side without Rafa than one with him, regardless of what their fans currently think of him.
-
Let's all get right behind this bloke, regardless of where he was in your pecking order. Massive, high pressure challenge ahead of him that others have shied away from. Fully believe he'll have enough about him to keep us up.
-
Was under the impression it was closer to £250m, which sounds a lot but doesn't go that far when you've been promoted from the pits of English football and had to overhaul an entire squad.
-
If you stay at a club like Bournemouth too long, with inferior investment and ambition to surrounding clubs, things will eventually go sour (and stale) no matter what the manager does. Would be hesitant to judge Howe on his final season.
