I’ve been struggling with this all day and can’t stop thinking about it. Married 10 days ago to his childhood sweetheart. 3 children and genuinely came across as a lovely and very humble person. His wife of 10 days has lost the love of her life, his children have lost their father and their uncle and his mother has lost her two sons. Beyond heartbreaking. Really brings home the fragility of life and our own mortality and the need to not put off stuff, and to do them while we can.

I´m 56 and went to my first match aged 7 with my Granda, who died the following year. Always enjoyed the crack and the collective almost gallow humour at times. Can´t help but feel that without him we'd be somewhat rudderless, as he is a massive personality, influence and captain for us and is the glue that binds the team together. If he has maybe had some personal issues and wants to leave the area, then the whole thing makes a lot more sense.
