I thought that was his biggest mistake of the game tbh (though the speed was impressive). He was completely shut off when the counter attack started, and didn't start tracking back properly until it was too late. He had the chance to prevent that goal.

This is a late, jammy 1-0 victory to Man Utd, isn't it?
-
Not going to go into it, but hope you can grasp the concept that losing Pope wasn't the only thing affecting our defence/form. He's absolutely fit to be our number two....provided our number two doesn't need to play half the games of a season.
-
Just because you keep saying it doesn't mean it's true. "Diabolical" & "complete clown" He's not Pope. That's as far as I'll go. Definitely worthy of being a 2nd choice keeper.

What a game Watched it in replay as I missed the first half so was in complete lockdown from media/internet/phone/telegraph and really glad I did so I could experience the whole thing as if it was live. Thanks Moyes for doing the Moeyestes thing possible by letting us have even more of the ball and not triggering a press until the ball is right outside your own box at 1-3 for a whole half.
-
I think you're absolutely right that he probably looked a lot better due to the circumstances of West Ham having already keeled over and let us do whatever we wanted until the ball was inside their goal area. But he has to play in order to show what he can do and the performance today hopefully gives him that opportunity.

Already given up on the season and wants to join Sunderland. Put him on fire.
-
So he goes by "Sandy", and he IS getting quicker. @03:08

It's not much of a laughing matter for us I'd say. We paid £5m a little under 2 years ago to release him from his gardening leave, and currently paying his compensation while he does nothing for us. Man Utd haven't lost anything, and have managed to set us back in the process. But yeah, lets laugh at Man Utd

Hope you have a great time, and that you open your Newcastle attendance account with a W!

If you'd get pissed off by that small remark you must have an incredibly thin skin, which I doubt is the case in Botman. Also blows the "sack all the medical people"-brigade that came out the woodwork when his injury was announced clean off. Seems the medical team at the club were entirely in the right, so kudos to Howe for that bit of information.
-
Absolutely. Probably why they haven't stressed out doing it asap as it'll be something they have to do, but it's nothing that will change anything (unless he starts betting again that is) in practical terms.
-
It's not like the Italian FA would have informed him about the investigation until they had the evidence they needed to start questioning him.
-
You can't seriously mean that?
-
Shame it wasn't for us, but my favorite Cisse goal during his time with us.
-
Isak played the whole game. Muscle injury before 60' on Saturday incoming.
-
Of course not. Only Hall and Tonali. Until they come good that is.

Shortstaff & Insigne win for Toronto against Atlanta.

Flawless performance for the parts of the match I saw. Got the better of Gordon in every situation where both of them were involved too, which I'm sure he'll bring up when they return to training, but being super humble and jolly about it.
-
Great for him. Hope it's a slow, boring and injury free experience.
-
It's arguably the best squad we've ever had. However, it's an unbalanced squad in that the attacking players are of quite higher quality than the defenders, which makes it even weirder that the bald freak set us up to invite pressure on the part of the team that is the worst.
-
Yeah, I can sympathise with that pressure. That's partly why I'd like the club as a whole to adopt more caution with injured players to alleviate the pressure on the manager. It doesn't work if we are more careful with injured players, but still have the same requirements for results during an injury crisis.
-
There's been people pointing at the Tonali ban and "freak" injuries like Burn, Pope & Barnes as bad luck, but have there really been many saying the other injuries are only down to bad luck, and not a crisis that has been amplified due to the freak injuries requiring others to come back earlier which has again resulted in set backs thus prolonging the injury crisis?
-
Of course all our injuries aren't down to bad luck. In general I think the club as a whole should adopt a better safe than sorry approach, and maybe listen less to players when they say they are ok to play. The discussion is naturally arisen out of Botmans long term injury, but it feels very wrong to have that discussion in this thread when in this instance it seems everyone has shown caution and tried to solve the injury in the best possible manner.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Souness.
