Actually looking forward to seeing more of Willock on the left, so hopefully that's where he's playing. Too lightweight for the middle of the park IMO.

Minteh against Burn is diabolical. Had to play Hall, especially with Joelinton coming back in to support him down that side.

Hopefully that's what he meant. If not it really doesn't make sense.

Don't think it's a surprise that since he's been out Hall has looked more shaky defensively down that side. Everyone knows what Joelinton is by this point. Ideally if the rest of the team was performing at the standard it should, particularly Tonali, then Joelinton's deficiences could be mitigated for. As things stand having Joelinton and Tonali in the midfield is not working. I know who I'd rather ditch, and it's not Joelinton.

Yeah, I don't get it. If that's what's needed and the money is available to improve the team, just get it done.

Bournemouth paid around £12 million with potential add ons (no word on how much). West Ham apparently bid £15 million with up to £20 million in performance related add ons.

He had a year and a half left on his contract and he was at Ligue 2 L'Orient. They weren't going to be asking 25-30 million for him from anybody man.

Thought he looked a lot more relaxed during his press conference today. Reckon getting some clarity on things with the ownership must have been a relief. Would be great if they can really nail things this summer, and he's able to turn things around going forward. Hopefully we start seeing some positive signs on the pitch the rest of the season now. Really seems there is a lot more unity and clarity on recruitment going forward from some of his comments and that is going to be crucial. Been my biggest gripe up until now, so good to see.

How can you sign a player and not know what they're about and have no plan of how to exploit anything they do well. Honestly, just for last summer alone, everyone that signed off on the deals, manager included should be on their way out, but looks like they will be getting another crack at it, and they are very fortunate IMO.

This weekend we'll no doubt get to see Minteh running wild against Newcastle again. He stays high up the pitch and they get him the ball early as an outlet to run at his full back time and time again in space. If he were at Newcastle he'd be coming towards his goal and getting swarmed and bullied off the ball or being forced into errors with the ball bouncing off him, and would have been written off early and often.

Don't think I've ever seen his fee quoted higher than around £35 million previously, and he is now going into the final two years of his current contract from this summer.

By now he should have been threatened physical harm if he keeps coming short for the ball, especially when there's space in behind for him to run into, or if he forces a pass inside when he has room to take his man on on the outside, or if he doesn't put the ball in the box early and often when he has the room to do so. This guy is as basic a player as it gets, who has some stand out physical attributes. He has to have everything spelt out for him on the pitch and it has to be as simple as possible. I never get the impression he has been given any kind of instructions on the pitch. They're just sending him out there to make things happen. He is never that sort of player. He has no idea what he's doing and there's no chemistry with the rest of the team when he's out there either, as he has been in and out of the team, and so they have no idea about him and what he's going to do either. It may well be a poor signing, but its being made to look infinitely worse.

Love the energy and aggression he plays with, but he's also got quality. Good both sides and upfront. Also decent experience now at 25. Article says around £25 million. Would be a great deal for someone. Lets see if it's Newcastle.
