Gordon replacement? Will we finally go for him after being linked for a while now? https://turkish-football.com/newcastle-united-set-sights-on-galatasarays-iron-man/

The movement and spacing of the team is disgusting. No idea what sort of attacking patterns they work on in training.
-
We're not Real Madrid. We don't have Bellingham, Vini and Mbappe. We don't have a squad infinitely better than almost every other team in the league. We're not just going up against one other team in the whole league.

Seiwald from Leipzig. Another link to a 6. https://www.fussballdaten.de/news/-exklusiv-ac-milan-inter-milan-und-newcastle-in-lauerstellung-45-mio-euro-fuer-den-oesterreichischen-star-7f3bfe19/

I see it happening. The one good thing about how badly things have gone this season, is that some of the issues are going to have to be taken far more seriously.

Glad to see mentioned that we're looking for a specialised 6 as I don't think we've had one since Howe came in, and hopefully it helps with that ridiculous gap in front of the defence that teams keep exploiting. Even though tactically you'd have hoped that would have been addressed by now.

A recruitment pivot seems to be underway, with the club ready to lean into European and South American scouting networks that have been beefed up in the last nine months. Combined with more and smarter use of data, Newcastle believe they are well-placed to learn from errors made in 2025 that have set the club’s progress back significantly. Fans might be reserving judgement on a director of football yet to oversee one first team signing but insiders speak well of Wilson. He has bought energy and – most importantly – alignment to Newcastle. His relationship with Howe means there is buy-in from every department in what the club are doing, which wasn’t necessarily the case under the outspoken Paul Mitchell, who first attempted to overhaul transfer processes at St James’ Park at the start of last season. It is understood Newcastle’s planning has stepped up in recent weeks, with a much larger pool of targets than in previous years. Among the lists being prepared are: market opportunities (including free agents and players with little-known or time-sensitive release clauses), up-and-coming talent from European markets, “Premier League proven” and off-the-radar targets seen as having untapped potential. How many players come in is a moveable feast, with some insiders bristling at talk of a complete overhaul. The general principle given new squad cost ratio (SCR) rules is that Newcastle will need to operate to a “one in, one out” policy, so sales will be required, not just to free up “squad cost” space but also to provide financial wriggle room for other players. That is why the Magpies will not be afraid to listen to offers for Yoane Wissa. While there is some interest, the general feeling is his value has dropped to around £15-20m after they paid Brentford £55m for him last summer. What is clear is that as well as replacing Kieran Trippier at right-back, finding a goalkeeper to improve on the underwhelming Aaron Ramsdale and bringing in a younger centre-back to likely replace Fabian Schar, Newcastle want a striker. Intriguingly The i Paper understands that another of Newcastle’s priorities is finding a specialist No 6, a move that suggests they may be preparing for a stylistic evolution this summer. The club have had previous interest in Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who is also on Manchester United’s long-list. Outgoings? Newcastle expect there to be interest in Anthony Gordon but will demand closer to £80m than the £55m Bayern Munich are believed to value him at. “The club can’t be afraid of selling players,” one senior source says. “It’s something we’ve got to get away from. This will be part of the future.” Sandro Tonali’s future will depend on interest but captain Bruno Guimaraes, a frustrated bystander during recent troubles, is expected to be central to the rebuild.

Yeah, he's more open to it now, after the disaster of last summer and this season, which has now meant there is no other choice now going forward. Not convinced for one second that he was as open to this previously.
-
I feel embarrassed to even claim that Newcastle play the same sport these two are playing here. My God.
-
Dembele gives me hope for Elanga man. Sheesh. Capable of some spectacularly bad play, but has been put in a situation where he is still so often a big threat that is so productive.
-
Disgustingly enough think they got more out of him before cutting their losses. This is a shocker.
-
Just seen the Athletic report. This has to go down as one of the worst transfers ever. What a monumental disgrace. Someone is getting fired for this for sure. I remember Howe thanking PIF for making an exception on the age profile to get Wissa. Can't image they're too pleased with this. Absolutely ridiculous.

Nice delivery Tonali.
-
Wait ... Forest are going to end up finishing above Newcastle aren't they?
-
Perfect ending. Anderson scores!
-
Brobbey has injured someone again!
-
Oh my goodness. Again another!
-
This two man formation Forest have switched to looks like it really suits them.
-
My God ... what a goal Gibbs-White!
-
Forest have been so good. Wood back amongst the goals. Think Hutchinson has been really good in particular.
-
Yes, Forest! That's a great ball from Hutchinson.

I read yesterday that he sacked his representatives over the move as he felt he was misled about starting at Man City! Apparently he was also on 25k at Burnley, and Newcastle offered him 50k, he's on 75k at Man City with additional bonuses that take it to just under £100k. So his wages aren't crazy. Ramsdale in comparison is currently on £150k on his Southampton contract!!!

Having watched the press conference and listened to Howe answer questions on both Wissa and Woltemade, I get the impression that they're both going to be here next season and he's still backing them considerably going forward. Makes me wonder if they've already decided that Osula will be moving on, and he is currently being played to put him in the shop window and be able to command a bigger fee for him. Maybe that all changes if Osula keeps going from strength to strength, but didn't sound at all like Howe has given up on Wissa or Woltemade.
-
Playing for Denmark is the scam. I'm sure Osula would have learnt in his childhood that this is what your lot think of his father's people, and so hopefully he makes the smart choice, and saves himself further humiliation once things don't go right and the emojis start flooding his inbox.
