  1. They think it's the NBA and are trying to go the OKC route!
  2. All of our current wingers tbh. Don't really want any of them dropping deep to get overly involved in build up play. Would make such a massive difference. Gordon and Elanga would both be far more dangerous players for it though, with their speed, that's for sure. Think that's often why Minteh looks so dangerous for them when he gets the ball and is often in space to run at players and be so direct.
  3. Just look how high up Brighton's wingers stay during the build up phase. Hardly ever see them coming back deep towards their own goal. Wish we would copy that bit of their play.

    Anthony Elanga

As a starting point with this guy going forward, when he gets the ball on the right and is facing up his defender, can we not have Tino immediately trying to bomb forward on the overlap and crowding the space for Elanga to take his man on, on the outside?! Particularly as Tino can't even cross the damn ball if it's given to him! Similarly can the right sided 8 not go rushing over to the right half space and crowding out that area straight away either?! So there's no room to cut in either like we saw for Elanga's goal against Man City! Happened time and time again in the first half on Saturday. Horrible spacing and not enough room for the guy to do the one thing that might allow him any kind of success on the pitch. As far as running at his man and trying to get a cross or shot away. The last thing you want is people coming towards him and asking for any kind of pass in tight areas, as we pretty much know how that goes by now! And so the question is, why has no adjustment been made to sort this kind of simple thing out?
  5. Well if it helps I've read (sorry can't remember where - might have been one of the many Athletic articles) that although they are looking at younger players, they are going to be ones that have performed at a high level in whatever leagues they are being brought in from, and the aim is for them to push the players in the first team.
  6. Be excited about the possibilities. Stop worrying!

    Yoane Wissa

Yes I know, that's why I said he appears to be more open minded now. The problem is if results the rest of the way continue on as they have been of late I'm not certain he will still be in the job.
  8. It's so interesting that Gordon is thought so little of when he plays but at the same time people are now so fearful of moving him on and getting replacements in. If the recruitment isn't well equipped enough to build a better squad with the money that comes in then even bigger and more wide ranging changes are needed at the club. It's time for a big refresh. Get these players out that don't want to be here get the money in and get to work in the market.

    Yoane Wissa

Howe had all of the gravitas at the time and wasn't having any of it really. Now things have turned and so I'm sure he'll be more open minded. Lets see if he's able to hold on to his position with how things go the rest of the season now. Seems like it's going to be very touch and go as far as that's concerned.

Mitchell left because he and Howe weren't seeing eye to eye on signings

Watched him and Endrick give PSG all sorts of problems on Sunday. Nice to see Steve Nickson's name in the mix again and to see us looking at the French League again too.

    Yoane Wissa

But asked why Wissa has not had an opportunity, Howe said: "He's had a very difficult season and I think the most difficult part for Yoane is that he got back fit and of course there was a huge feeling inside of him that he wanted to rush back and show everyone how good he is, and then we haven't been able to train him how we would normally train him." "It's very small groups, game every two or three days, stop-start for him, he was never able to get a rhythm." "We've probably seen the best of him in his time at Newcastle this week, we've been pleased with him physically." But Howe then went on against the Cherries to leave him on the sidelines and it remains to be seen whether he will feature against Arsenal in the crunch game on Saturday night at the Emirates Stadium. Howe insists: "I still think there's loads more to come. I feel a pre-season would definitely help him. You'll see a totally different player with a really sustained period where he's able to do what he needs to do." "He's been trying, he's been really wanting to make a difference. There have been physical things stopping him from doing that. No injury, just time on the pitch, he needs training to get his body up to full speed. The best is yet to come."

    Anthony Elanga

Maybe you're right, but I'm not fully convinced yet. What I do know right now is that I hate the way the current team is setup, and there's too many players not performing well enough currently.
  14. Wish it had happened the summer Mitchell came in. Fear it might be too late for Howe now.

    Anthony Elanga

Yeah, so it seems so far. But should he really be looking this far off what he produced at Forest? There doesn't seem to be any plan to accommodate him in a team that is different from his former one. Elanga Gordon Barnes Woltemade Tonali I've gotten to the point I am very concerned with what Howe is able to get out of what feels like the majority of the players. And particularly the ones I've mentioned just above. It shouldn't be as bad as it is. The more I watch the less I understand what the team is supposed to be trying to do when they have the ball. I don't see anything that is trying to exploit the strengths of the players. At this point as much as I would like to see Howe turn it around, I'm not at all confident it will happen, as he isn't really trying different things tactically. Not sure he'll be brought back if the rest of the games go as badly as I think they might. There's just too many players that a lot of money was spent on that aren't performing well enough, and it's going to be a lot harder getting rid of them and replacing them, than it will be trying to find a manager that can get more out of the players.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Yeah, it's not useless, but agree with the point of having the advantage of playing with Isak during that time.
  17. PSG vs Lyon has been class so far. PSG getting cooked! Endrick's got a goal and assist 18 mins in.
  18. A rare and exceptional achievement!

I know ... I'm not the one that needs telling.
  20. Arsenal are so pathetic I could actually see us getting a result against them after this

His numbers in a David Moyes side apprently.
  22. That miss from Havertz is just impossible in that situation. What a choke job.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Cost £15 million from Marseille after showing flashes previously at Sheffield United in the Prem. No value in the market though. Small pool of players etc etc etc.
