  1. Need to be a lot more savvy and creative with transfers. The likes of Bruno, Botman and Thiaw should have been the blueprint. Decent age, good level of experience at a respectable level, and lots of further promise at very reasonable value. Should have built up the squad better with these types of signings so the team wouldn't still be so unbalanced.
  2. Howe would pull out of any kind of consideration as soon as transfers get discussed. The move to Celtic fell apart because they said he couldn't hire all of his backroom people. It would be the same over final decisions on signings. Howe will never accept a role where he doesn't control transfers. He is very very particular about the players that come in. "Small pool pf players ..." etc. The only one where there might be a chance would be Liverpool because those are all the people he came up in football with, and so maybe their ideas are aligned to some degree, but even then, I doubt it.
  3. None of them would because they all have sporting directors and the managers don't get the final say on signings.

    Anthony Elanga

It's always the case. The team played another 30+ mins after he went off and did absolutely nothing, and they were in fact much worse than when he was on.

    Nick Woltemade

Chelsea prepared to offer Nick Woltemade striker role Newcastle are thought to be interested in Delap, which could give Chelsea an opportunity to sign Woltemade, it seems. Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Club World Cup winners will ask about Woltemade’s availability if his current employers make an approach for Delap. According to Phillips, Chelsea are also willing to promise the German that he can play up top. Pedro will definitely be staying at Stamford Bridge after his goalscoring exploits this season, while Emanuel Emegha is arriving in the summer, so there could be some serious competition in the centre-forward position if Woltemade does join. Chelsea have seen what the Germany international can do first-hand after conceding two goals against him earlier in the season. https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/transfer-news/chelsea-ready-to-enquire-about-nick-woltemade-and-make-newcastle-player-promise/
  6. My God this is humiliating for Arsenal.

    Harvey Barnes

Well, a lot of people spent the first half of the season saying he was better than Gordon on the left, and so they're never going to say a word when he's stinking it up. Instead they'll go in on Elanga who causes far more problems for the opposition, now they can't slate Gordon anymore. Yeah, he doesn't tend to track his full back or put a foot in with much conviction either.

    Harvey Barnes

Best left winger at the club apparently. Gets carried through games, while everyone waits to see if he can pop up with a goal, so it's justified. Will never understand how he can't find more space and be more of a threat in general play, when he has Hall to combine with down that left side. Complete passenger, and hilariously enough, far less threatening than everyone's favourite Elanga.

    Malick Thiaw

Will likely get fed up of the mess around him soon enough and get a nice big move to Bayern Munich in due course.

    Tino Livramento

Never thought I'd be saying it, but bored of Tino now. Not sure if it's the Man City rumours that have got to his head or what. Between the injuries and the poor play in the final third it's all just getting a bit tedious.
  11. Those runs in behind are so vital to this whole Howe setup. Elanga is the only one that seems to make them constantly and it pushes defences back and creates more space in midfield for the team, but it's typically overlooked and dismissed. No idea why Woltemade was pulled either. Thought he was an important part of some decent build up play and more importantly keeping of possession. His replacement ultimately cost Newcastle the game. After such a comfortable first half it's astonishing how much worse the second half was once both Elanga and Woltemade went off.
  12. Bullied and dominated by Brian Brobbey. Soft.
  13. Funnily enough ever since Elanga went off and he could no longer be used as an outlet in behind, the performance has been much worse. Has led to more mucking about with the ball in midfield and more losses of the ball, which has of course brought them into the game. You just have to laugh really. It's absolutely tragic.
  14. Willock with the shittest pass in midfield for no reason. Typical from him really. Game over.
  15. Barnes losing the ball every time on the left. Every single time.
  16. If he's not scoring he's invisible. But I'm sure that can just be blamed on Elanga too.
  17. What a start to the second half. Brobbey has set the tone bullying Botman all game. Soft.
  18. Thiaw can't even get a full game's rest. Don't think Botman wanted anymore of Brobbey and bailed.
  19. Ramsey looking so good in that deeper midfield role again. Terrible pass from Barnes.

    Anthony Elanga

Just needs to never make runs in behind and pass it sideways or backwards everytime after he gets the ball, just like Barnes has been doing on the left, so that he gets away without any criticism.
