Solid half, but need to a bit more threat.

Hall has to do better with that cross.

Trippier is too old and slow to get up and support him.
-
I'm so sick of Trippier man, honestly.

Botman is getting ragdolled by Brobbey. Get it together man.
-
That's actually really well done by Woltemade too. Looked like he meant that touch to Gordon?!
-
Get in Gordon. Top man. Great composure and finish.

Wish Barnes would just put the ball in the box there.
-
When people were kicking off we were being linked with him as a free agent pickup in the summer, before he had signed a new contract.

So satisfying watching Welbeck tear someone else a new one. Liverpool stink.
-
Yup. He's being wasted at Chelsea with the way they have played since Maresca and then Rosenior came in. Like you rightly said, even those clips of his aggression are much needed as it actually fits in with more of what Newcastle was earlier on in Howe's tenure. Just needs to be channelled more effectively into his pressing, like we see with the likes of Joelinton and Gordon.

Get in Kroupi!

Yikes ... is that even a foul?!
-
Love that the lead up to the goal started with that Amad throwing himself to the floor looking for yet another pen. Always does it.

If you take the time to go back and watch the type of goals Delap was scoring at Ipswich you'll get a better idea of how suited he is to an Eddie Howe side. Ipswich got him the ball early, whether that was passes in behind, down the channels or deliveries into the box from out wide. Much like how we serviced and got the best out of Isak. Both Delap and Isak ended up joining clubs that were in a rush to sign players that looked good elsewhere while playing a completely different brand of football, and both have looked lost and suffered for it. They've both been outshone by strikers that are more adept at finding and dropping into spaces and getting more involved in play to then help open teams up, in Ekitike and Joao Pedro. Liverpool and Chelsea do the slower build up thing, passing the ball side to side in that ridiculous horseshoe allowing defences to sit back and close up all the space. If Klopp and Pochettino were still at these respective clubs, playing the more up tempo and direct football they do it would be a very different story. If Delap is available Newcastle should absolutely be looking into a move for him.

Arsenal refused to pay what Leipzig wanted for Sesko and were looking at Mbeumo as a squad player.

Right ... I'm sure there's never been any interest in him over the years from any other top clubs. Fernandes clearly values his status and importance at Man United and has been willing to stick it out because of that, and so it's been about more than just chasing after trophies and success when a bigger or more successful club shows interest. I doubt he would look at joining any of the other clubs in England during a period they've won more trophies with what he has meant to Man United over his time there, and would find it ridiculous if he did so.
-
Shouldn't have signed a new contract in 2024 to make a move easier. Was clearly too good for Man United and should have just chased more trophies and success.
-
But apparently it's all about success and trophies so none of what he's been a part of at Newcastle matters, and he should leave because they've recently managed to win more trophies despite how much of a mess they've been. Makes you wonder why Bruno Fernandes has pissed away the last 6 years at Man United, when he could have been pushing to join the likes of Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona or PSG where he could be at an even bigger club that would have had him competing for even more success and trophies, as he's clearly good enough to do so.
-
Yeah, players of that sort of character are way too rare unfortunately. It would be disappointing if we come to find Bruno goes down the same path.
-
Actually, the majority of people would go with the move. That is the more typical mindset, and its no different than the 'Glory hunter' attitude of most fans that aren't tied to a particular area when it comes to following or supporting a team. These kind of people will never understand the point you're making. Personally, I think it's mental that after what Bruno has given to Newcastle and the level of importance he has meant to the team and the area, that he could even join another Prem team, never mind go there and play with the same sort of fire, with all the badge kissing and carrying on to boot. It would be absolutely comical. Personally, I couldn't ever imagine doing that. From what we've seen of Bruno throughout his time here I don't see that in him at all really. Definitely wouldn't begrudge him a move, but with the interest and options he'll have, the obvious step would be to join a top club abroad. I guess we'll soon find out.
-
I'm looking forward to it. Think it will all be very telling on what direction things are heading in with the club. I think provided we can avoid selling any of the main players to any prem teams (although I could probably even deal with them going to Man City) then I really don't care about what changes are made.
