Going to out on a limb here & say that I don't think that Sam Allardyce is on Sir John Hall's Christmas card list.

Owen - 105k Coloccini - 60k Cacapa - 50k Barton - 65k Martins - ? Duff - 60k Smith - 60k Jonas - ? Geremi - 60k Those are the only ones I can think of that are likely to be on more than 50k, there are a few others who might be approaching that. There's easily 15 players earning over 25k

Alternatively it could be that we've not had a solid midfield in 5 years & end up inviting pressure on our defence leading to more & more last ditch tackles, etc. When a striker makes a mistake it doesn't usually get punished too badly, but when a defender makes an error it usually leads to an opposing player being put through on goal. You can get away sometimes, but constant pressure means more potential mistakes and when you have players like Titus did I leave the iron on? Bramble in your defence those mistakes get magnified more often. Bramble has looked alright this season because he's not been put under that pressure since the Wigan midfield has been capable of keeping hold of the ball when required and offering an outlet when necessary. He's still made the same mistakes, it just hasn't happened as often. How often this season did our defenders clear the ball to the midfield only to see it fly right back at our defence because the midfield wasn't there? Too often our players were sitting so deeply they could be classed as defenders or alternatively they'd find a warm spot on the pitch and stay there despite being marked by a defender twice their size. It's why Jonas was important to the team this season, he was actually capable of running with the ball and alleviating pressure, it would have worked better if the rest of the midfield had thought about trying to keep up with him to offer an outlet for him when he got into trouble, but too often they were still wandering around the centre of defence 50 yards away from the ball. It winds me up no end when the media go on about our frail defence. It isn't really that bad, the problem is in the midfield and has been in the midfield since Speed left.

If we keep him I cannot see him changing his game at all. He'll spend most of every game he plays stood on the wing waiting for someone to give him the ball, he won't bother trying to move into space & when he does get hold of the ball he'll surprisingly find himself surrounded by opposition players who have miraculously figured out that he keeps standing still. All these players suddenly coming out to show how loyal they are and how determined they are to fix things. IT WAS YOUR FUCKING FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
-
Of course he's going to stay. Who else is going to pay him £60000 every week so he can be carried in almost every game he plays in. For what we're paying him we could pick up 6 players 10 years his junior with 10x his ambition and determination.

If they won games then no one would care, but that they lost and still didn't look like they were bothered that they'd managed to get a club relegated. Most of the players that got us relegated will find themselves new clubs, they'll get similar wages & a signing on fee, they'll still be playing Premiership football. None of us get that option, we can't change our allegiance, Man City aren't going to come in & buy our support. I care that they feel some responsibility, I care that they understand what this club, or any club, means to the fans. The only thing those players look like they care about is their own wallets.

Taylor was on his knees, nearly in tears. Didn't see anyone else but Owen looked like he couldn't give a flying f***. Owen didn't look like he gave a flying fuck when he was waiting to come on, the way he was propped up on the dugout waiting for instructions. Honest question, did Owen even get a kick this afternoon? I really can't remember anything that he did. One good flick on to Shola that resulted in Bambi on Ice hoofing it over. I still can't understand how Shola's at this club, but he put himself a hell of a lot more than Owen who'll still somehow manage to get himself a cushy move to Villa or Everton or somewhere. Shola actually played like he gave a fuck (still managed to look lazy though) something that the veteran international "stars" failed at pretty miserably.

Yeah, but once he's broken the gallows where are we going to hang the players?
-
Llambias does know which direction forward is doesnt he?? He has made reference to take us "forward" before and I have to say he has got me wondering You want to see his car. 6 gears. All reverse.
-
He's like herpes, you never really get rid of it. Butt seriously needs to look at retirement, he's not up to League One standard let alone the Championship. Taylor & Jonas staying would be great and would help us build a foundation for promotion.

Plunder the reserve teams of the top 4, a few more players like Guthrie would be OK, Michael Mancienne from Chelsea would be one, a decent player who isn't going to get into the Chelsea 1st team but would be good enough for most Premiership defences. Probably worth having a look at Man City's reserves too, Daniel Sturridge & Michael Johnson would be good if we could persuade them that they have almost no chance of getting in the Man City 1st team once they get going on their spending spree. Young players with something to prove, not has-beens with horses to feed.

Oxygen thief. Barton can fuck right off too. The last two games we were desperate for a midfielder capable of something more than aimless punts upfield & where was he? Banned. Again.
-
Taylor was also the only one who looks fit too. What is it about our fitness? They're a bunch of lazy overpaid heartless cunts?

He's not that skint, he's worth a lot less than he was but a lot of that was a paper worth anyhow. Sports Direct isn't doing too badly even with the recession but the share price has dropped a load, same as almost every company. He hasn't really got much of a choice either, he can't really put the club into administration without losing a huge amount of money. If he wasn't the sole shareholder it might make sense but everything in the club, including the debt belongs to him. He might be willing to sell the club for a lesser value, but if he does I really hope that it's done in private because a transfer window full of ownership uncertainty would only mean that players will leave and no one will replace them.
-
Fuck requests, just transfer list the whole lot of them. Don't give them a chance to hang around leeching even more money off us.
-
I blame the players more than anyone else (though Ashley, Llambias, etc. deserve a lot of blame). I cannot believe that so called professional footballers, some of whom have one Premiership medals, Champions League medals, played at the World Cup, have been so poor. The inability to pass a football, move into space, time tackles or keep possession baffles me. These are the absolute basic things that kids of 6 or 7 learn. Does playing for your nation suddenly mean you don't have to do these things any more? Is it the money? Do the players think why do I care, I earn £60,000 per week, I can pay someone else to pass the ball for me? Lazy, arrogant, talentless cretins the lot of them.
-
A big thank you to the mercenaries at the club. Duff, great passing and positioning today you useless cock Butt, threw yourself around a lot but forgot the other slightly important things like PASSING TO A FUCKING TEAM MATE Owen, you were on the pitch? really? no one noticed, pretty much the same as every other game you played in in 2009 Nolan, never have I seen such an unfit (allegedly) professional footballer, there are asthmatics out there feeling sorry for you Most of the team out there today played like there were another 10 games of the season. Most of them were obviously more interested in where they were going on holiday & where they were going to get transfers to next season. In an ideal world I'd hope that the club forced the lot of them to stay to fix their fuck ups but even if we could afford those wages I expect they'd struggle in League Two let alone the Championship. Goodbye you greedy money-grabbing bastards, I hope you all go bankrupt since that's all you obviously care about.
-
Nicky Butt. Please, please just shoot yourself. Though you'd probably fuck that up too.
-
Same problems as ever, Butt is fucking atrocious, can't tackle, can't pass, has no understanding of his or his team mate's positions. Duff is a joke of a footballer and it really sums up him and our whole season that the goal deflected in off him. Usual up front too, making a few chances but not taking them.
-
Insane challenge from Butt, could have easily been a card

JEEEZUZ! Thats rich coming from freddy Shepherd. Absolutely. The longer Freddie stayed in the job, the worse he became, and the prime reason was he would never learn. Whenever something went wrong, it would be someone else's fault and the solution was always to acquire more power for himself. To me with the appointment of Allardyce and the admittance for a more prudent approach showed that he had realised his past mistakes. I'm not sure the appointment was down to him realising he needed to take a more prudent approach. Shepherd tended to swing wildly between managerial appointments based on the reactions to our teams - Dalglish - Keegan's team played nice open attacking football but a little poor defensively so let's appoint a guy who knows how to get teams playing as a tight defensive unit. Gullit - Oh Shit! Dalglish's team is crap to watch, better get in some Sexy Football Robson - OK, so Gullit didn't work, let's go the man who knows everything about football Souness - Robson lost the dressing room, we need a disciplinarian Roeder - OK, so Souness was a lunatic who alienated almost everyone, let's go for Mr Nice Guy Allardyce - Mr Nice Guy was too nice & we're 20 years behind other teams when it comes to training techniques. People keep talking about these Pro Licenses, Allardyce has one & he was in line for the England job, he'll bring us up-to-date For what it's worth I think Shepherd would have sacked Allardyce before the end of last season for the same reasons that we got rid of Souness, we were shit to watch and the players were clearly unable to follow his instructions, whatever they were.

Think I'll pass, will be busy on Sunday morning sacrificing chickens and goats to the elder gods.
