I've got a hell of a lot of match-worn hockey jerseys from the NHL. The one that is closest to my heart is a match-worn Steve Yzerman-jersey from his 1000th NHL game. Lovely chap is Yzerman...

Which could tie in with the (false?) ITK stories about a consortium from Hong Kong since Kuok is a Malaysian who lives and operates in Hong Kong. Other notable dream buyers from Hong Kong would be Li Ka-shing worth an estimated 16 billion USD.

Well, there's a few hours left of today though. Believe.

Seems like Craig Hope is doing his best to keep the fans happy at least...

Looks like Ben Tozer.

If it was Johann Rupert I'd certainly be happy with that. Why Rupert? He's only worth 1.2 billion USD, while fellow South African Nicky Oppenheimer is worth more than 5 billion USD. I know who I'd choose of the two.

Mitre always did make excellent balls. A couple of years ago they were the official ball of the Gothia Cup which is the largest youth football tournament in the world. I remember from my own football "career" as well that they were far better than the Nike, adidas and Umbro balls back then at least.

Depends, if it's Paul Allen for example I'd rather have him than the Malaysian dude. It's all about the money.

There is another article in the Chronicle about the "gruelling boot camp" the players have this week in Dublin. Apparently Hughton is using the pre-season plans that AS has drawn up.

Yep, Mark Cuban was linked during the winter with a take-over. I personally would really enjoy it if he was involved in some way. My father actually had some business dealings with him a couple of years ago and he's a ruthless bastard but also a very, very clever man.

Nail on. They were actually talking about this during the Semifinal here in Sweden. I think Englands starting 11 had something like 800 premiership appearances or something like that between them where as Sweden had a couple of Premiership appearances, a bunch of Eredivisie and a lot of Swedish Allsvenskan players. And it showed especially in the first half, it was men against boys especially at the set-plays. Where Sweden tried to rely on technically sound players like Bajrami, Elm, Berg, Toivonen and even the full backs Johansson and Lustig to actually outplay the opposition whether it was Italy, Belarus or England, England only tried to be tougher, stronger and wiser than their opponents. And save for THAT crossbar header from Berg in the semis wouldn't have gotten into the finals. I'd be willing to wager that most of the starting 11 in Sweden will be better regarded in the future than the English. Most of the English players will be average PL-players at best IMO.

Well not entirely, we could always wait for another bidder in the future. Yep, but that would mean sticking with MA for the time being. And can we afford that going in to the new season without a manager and cost-cutting like crazy?
-
If you were faced with the choice between MA and FS, what would it be? That's the situation we are in right now.

BBC: Freddy Shepherd £60m offer for NUFC likely to be accepted

I'll have to disagree. If FS gets control over the club again we will not drop down a division. Chances are that we'll actually gain promotion at the first try though. And that wouldn't be so bad, now would it? As for the giving up part, don't go there. As you all use to say, we're like a beat-up wife, we keep coming back. -

Anyone else have a feeling that Freddie Fletcher is involved in this as well? Would be amazing. This club...love it. -
At least we've actuslly scored our goals through something other than corners though... Maybe I'm just a bit bitter after seeing our national teams losing against you so many times in the past..from 5-0 to 5-6 somehow pops ups to my mind first Now THAT was something special.

Let me be the first swede to say: Fuck yeah!

I have had to take a 10% pay cut due to the current climate. Surely this applies to football just as much as most other industries at the moment, probably even more so. And that is before we even move onto the fact that you got relegated. Despite of the current climate I've just had a 20% raise. Nice! Was that as a result of your goal and performance last night? Nah, not really. Not that much of a football player me. Not anymore anyways.

Read: O'Brien, Andrew & Bramble, Titus. Both Caldwell and Edgar are good enough at defending, if they get a good enough manager working with them it'll be no problems whatsoever IMO. The players O'Brien & Bramble had around them were a million years ahead of anything Burnley will have. Yep, but on the other I'd not think that Burnley aims to break the Top 4 next season or any time soon. Do you? It's survival vs. relegation we're talking about here. Are they worse than Michael Turner and Kamil Zayatte for example? I wouldn't think so anyways.
-
That's exactly what I'm talking about. And I've been through enough rough patches in my life to know that sometimes you'll have to make up some light at the end of the tunnel to get through.

No, I agree that it doesn't mean anything, and I'm aware that we've been fucked over dozens of times by these clowns. But on the other hand, this negativity that has somewhat taken a hold of this forum isn't exactly helping either. I'd rather be stupid and actually BELIEVE that we will somehow get out of this mess than being a cynical bastard and crying wolf all the time. But maybe that's just me.
