The Bob Holly emoji is one of the best things to ever happen to this forum.

Rubbish is too much but 4-month purple patch aside his goal/assist output was absolutely diabolical. His effort and industry were never in question.
-
He was second to everything even with a head start. His pace is long gone.
-
He’s got some lofty (and pretty outrageous) ambitions left so he won’t stay here to pat the lads on the back like Ritchie or the National League Nesta over in Carlisle. Him staying means something has gone pretty drastically wrong, if that happens. I don’t want to be remotely negative but he’s never been an impact sub, clearly will never be fit enough to start games - we know how that story ends (for several weeks if not months) - and what does he give you on the pitch anyway? His place in the side was always about goals through physicality, pace and sharpness and at least 2 of those aren’t coming back.

It’s difficult to be too critical of the club’s cultivation of player engagement behind the scenes given the season we’ve just had but I tend to agree 100% with this. I know Man U kept players past their sell by date under Ferguson but they weren’t players for key positions, were usually ‘fill a gap’ sorts and could meaningfully participate at least.

I get they’ll pay more and obviously 99% of footballers would rather live in London but for, in theory, the most powerful owners in world football we haven’t half been lightweights for quite some time.

If by talking a great game you mean he sounded mentally disturbed beyond belief every time he opened his mouth.

Especially when virtually all of our foreign-based signings under Eddie have been a resounding success.
-
I’ll clarify, not for *us* there isn’t.

Robert in his third season was outrageous. Carried the team for long periods in the first two thirds of the season. Taking away the intangibles, there’s no valid argument that Ginola was better than Robert.
-
He scored 10 goals the season that was a thing.

I think Pardew going to Palace was one of the happiest days of my adult life up until that point. Bruce was worse. That’s the best thing I can say about him.
-
Schar was always class. That waste of air Bruce not seeing it doesn’t change that. Shelvey was a lazy twat who Eddie binned first real opportunity be had to do so.
-
Gillespie and Alnwick being used as evidence we used to be one of the best scouters and developers of young keepers in the country is pretty rich mind. Even Given tbh - he was a 21 year old already part of the full Irish squad and had PL experience when we bought him. Multiple sides were interested. We got him because Kenny knew him from Blackburn and we were the 2nd best team in the country back then.

I’d rather a club with genuinely passionate and committed fans do well. Brighton have 30,000 (if that) customers. They’re an insipid, soulless club unfortunately run by smart, ambitious and forward thinking people.
-
I thought it was inevitable someone would lose their job for last summer’s shitshow. What a job Eddie and the team have done in spite of it.
-
Mid 30s / Mid 20s. Bit different. And nowt wrong with a smoke.
-
He’s also been figured out to an extent. Back off and show him the line and he’s not likely to hurt you. Goes for all 3 of our wingers in truth.
-
Again, loved HBA in context, but would Ginola have rocked up in July having gained over a stone or whatever it was? Redundant comparison.
-
I’m going to frame this.
-
This can’t be real, surely?
-
Yep, he is. Certainly can’t miss him. He’s become close with some fans including my uncles and aunties. Nice bloke apparently. Pope’s mum too.

Either him or Slot for manager of the season. Really don’t see how Nuno comes into the conversation with what they’ve spent over there and the fact they’ve only made Conference League.
