What are Joelinton’s abilities? Curious to hear what the perception is of him now. These days I very rarely see him driving the team forward, linking up with anyone, and he’s also increasing second to everything. Also hasn’t scored in the league since December. At some point you’ve got to ask what the eff the point is.

Against who? A RB who we’ll likely never see ever again.

We’ll never see the Elanga at Forest as they played a style almost polar opposite to ours. Honestly, I don’t think he’s a ‘bad’ player. He’s just looked horribly unsuited to us and having Trippier behind him for the most part hasn’t helped. If there’s any hope for him it rests on him linking well with Livramento, certainly not his lamb to the slaughter shitshow appearance today - I almost felt for him a bit. Forget about him thriving against low block though. We were told that by the Man U lot when first linked in August ‘24.

We’re not transitioning though. We still have predictable / limited wingers who come inside or cross and hit the first man, a midfield that goes missing and doesn’t create / score, Dan effing Burn at LB, Pope’s limitations, paint by numbers subs and no plan B when intensity is our identity falls flat. There are positives but we’ve been treading water for a while now with the complete lack of new ideas to impose our game on the opposition instead of doubling down on the Poundshop Klopp doctrine.

We had at least 7 players in there you could argue should be starting for us, plus Dan Burn who always starts regardless.

Every one of us has known for years we need a creative midfielder.

We’ve beaten only Wolves, Fulham and Forest at home in the league. We’re only winning the absolute easiest ones. Beating Farmers in Belgium, Spurs’ second team and Benfica means nothing, in spite of the hyperbole after the games.

Yeah it’s becoming a real issue now. We’re just a team of bigger, stronger, faster and with the extra games and fatigue it just means far too many substandard footballers are on the pitch. We’re so shit in possession it’s laughable.

As bad a half as you’ll see us play. Changes needed. Fed up of that midfield three being invisible in games like this. Burn at LB is always asking for trouble when we’re playing a higher line.
