    Option A for me like.

That is awesome.  What a great animation, thanks for sharing that

All of those options look great, no matter how they decide to do it the disruption is going to be significant.  Option C would be incredible.

    RNID, deaf people, not blind.

Oh crap.  Yes, I knew it was the deaf...  why I wrote blind is beyond me!  Thanks for not being too brutal on me!  Cheers!

So as an older dude, I love the old Adidas samba - played-5-a-side in them and had the different versions.

Was going to buy a new pair for the first time in a long time but it seems SD only stock them and not JD.

Is this just because I’m a dinosaur that wants shit no-one else does or does SD have a specific deal?

only asking as I won’t buy from SD on principle

In JD at the Metro Centre I saw that they have a new version of Adidas Kick on the shelf, the forerunner to the Samba for those old enough to remember.  I am picking a pair up for my 5 a side as my current Samba's are just about done.  Not cheap though.....  Bloody 85 Quid!

  5. Don't want to go over the same stuff about Dummett from last night but, he was terrified to play football from the moment he came on the pitch...  It has been too long since he played and now he is completely finished, watching him look to offload the ball to someone else from the moment he received it was actually quite pitiful.  I think a youngster who is getting regular football with the reserves of the U21's would have been a far better choice to come on at the end when Hall was finished.  My lad says Alex Murphy is really good and deserves a chance, I have not seen him play so I am not able to comment.

  6. Ballot Working Group Supporter Event

Newcastle United are committed to working alongside fans to improve the ticketing experience for all our matchday attendees. After direct consultation with over 600 supporters on areas of fan interest at our recent We Are United event, we are pleased to announce the first supporter workshop on the ballot process.

The primary focus of the workshop is to help shape further enhancements that reflect the needs of supporters. It will allow fans to deliver feedback and propose ideas for the consideration of our Fan Advisory Board and the Club at large as we move forward in creating strategic dialogue between supporters and the Club’s key decision makers.

To enable discussion between a wide range of fans, there are both in-person and online spaces available; you will have the option to select your preferred mode of attendance when completing the availability form. Should the event be oversubscribed, attendance will be allocated via a ballot system.

Please click the link below to register your interest in attending this event no later than 12pm (UK time) on 13 February 2024.

Attendees will be notified if they have been successful by 4pm on 14 February 2024 (UK time).

Please be aware that this event is invitation only, for supporters aged over 18.

  7. It seems to be a part of their coping mechanism to convince themselves that every team raises their game considerably when they play Sun'lun rather than to simply admit that they themselves are complete dogshit and can easily be beaten by any of their "Champo" rivals.

  8. We had a family gathering at our place yesterday and one of the fellas that came is a Sunderland fan so I offered to put the match on the teevee for him vs. Hull.  I watched it on and off and I can honestly say that the football played by both teams was quite a low standard.  There was no closing down, tons of space in the penalty area and very little pace to speak of.  A player like Isak would have a field day against either of those sides.

Of course I am not stupid enough to underestimate how the Sunderland team will come out against us but, we should have more than enough to deal with them comfortably.  Even my guest - who is a very decent bloke and not at all like the rabid bunch of crazed lunatics on RTG - said that he expects Sunderland to get a lesson from us....

  9. Anyone who is having negative thoughts about Trippier or the team in general should just take a leaf out of Edfie Howe's book and just show a little bit of balance...

Yes we are struggling but, the players are giving all they have for him.  Our injury situation and the intensity of the games have taken a toll but, Howe s not on TeeVee crying and moaning...   instead he is honest, open and most importantly he is supportive towards the squad.

I don't think we'll see him reffing another PL game for a few weeks. It was just all round odd.

He saw the foul and played advantage - great call

He saw Haaland play the pass

He saw Grealish receieve the pass

He saw Grealish run with the ball with just 1 defender and a GK to beat

... then blew his whistle to bring it back for a freekick

Just seen a replay of that incident.   It defies explanation.

    Unbelievable.

  11. Saw something on Facebook, on an Everton Fan Group that somehow crept into my feed...

A Sunderland fan praising them, telling them to all stick together and they will be fine.  How cruel and awful the Premier League are for imposing the sanctions and blaming the previous owners for not being ambitious enough....

Followed by tons of Everton fans fawning over Sunderland fans stating they are the finest fans in the North East blah blah blah!!!

Two sets of fans that are perfectly aligned to each other, both massively in the shadow of their far larger neighbours and both sets of fans that crave anything to gain attention and praise from any other football club / set of fans.  The Real Mackems and the Merseyside Mackems.

  12. I hope that if he is selected for England during the International window that he pulls out.  He really needs a break.

Too many blaming him or commenting on his performance specifically.  By his own high standards he has been somewhat away from his best but, anything I saw just seemed to be related to fatigue. Still one of our most important players.

  13. I watched the first half of their match....  what happened to the Championship?  When did the standard drop to this current low?

More importantly WHY do the local commentators call all of the Sunderland players by their first names?  It is just fuckin weird!!

    Jobe, Patrick, Luke....   WTF???

  14. What do they not bloody understand?

They were light years behind Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United last season who were promoted easily as the best three from that league and yet are struggling like hell in the Premier League, the standard of the Championship gets lower and lower each season and yet a couple of wins for them and suddenly they expect that they would give European elite teams a good game of football and are definitely of Premier League standard....

Honestly they are ridiculous at times and that forum brings out the absolute nutcases.

  15. It is really time these Sun'lin gimps stopped kidding themselves that they give even the smallest shit about Global Human Rights, they don't care that many clubs, several Premier League occupiers, are owned by Middle Eastern organisations / individuals / Kingdoms....  All they care about is that their nearest rivals and for a few years a team they regularly beat has been lucky to be purchased by hugely wealthy owners and more importantly fully engaged stakeholders in the fortunes of the club and so as a result will take regular large strides away from them in status, standard and ultimately (if not already) be completely out of reach for them.

I cannot wait for the day that we get to play them again, it will be brutal !

I find it hilarious that they cannot grasp the fact that teams that finished 20 - 30 points ahead of them last season are struggling in the Premier League and yet in their tiny heads and minds they would be able to give most of the Premier League a lesson in football and even give PSG and Milan a beating.

I'm heading up to the ground early. No way I'm missing that anthem after 20 years because of the queues.

    Really good call.

I will be in the ground at least 30 minutes before kick off.

  17. Absolutely buzzing for tonight...

I am old enough - like tons on here - to remember and have attended some of the big Champions League nights in 2002/3 and 2003/4...  Amazing nights but, tonight feels very special.

Today is dragging like hell already...  trying to keep myself busy to pass the time but, the butterflies have kicked in already!

Especially chuffed for my 18 year old son who up until the last couple of years has experience nothing but, crap from this club since he started to take notice!

Quite frankly, it is fucking mental to make a comparison or to give a shit if anyone else does.

I think it is OK to compare the same games from the season before with the season current, it is a good way to measure progress.

I agree it is mental to compare our results and those from a team from a league below though!

We lost at City last season, Liverpool beat us at home and we got a point at Brighton.

We did really well at City this year and only just lost, albeit I think they had another gear to go into if it was necessary.

Liverpool was a disaster and we should have beaten them.

Brighton was a poor performance from our side.

Like I said originally - we have plenty of time to put things right and we will.

  19. They would have been too busy getting out to the Southampton fan coaches so they could give them a "slap" off the field as well as on it.

No football Saturday is complete without terrorising the away fans as they head home.
