Was this the same match where the "legend" of Michael Chopra was born.... scoring with his first touch after coming on as a sub. Or was that a different win at their place?
  2. This exactly, he has always been one of the least comfortable on the ball of any player I can remember watching... he simply doesn't want the ball and when he does get it he wants rid of it as quickly as he can... he has stolen a living from football, actually not just a living but, a wonderful living... more money than most of us will ever earn in our lifetimes. There a loads of professional players like this though... If we need to play with wingbacks I would prefer to see Targett on the left and Manquillo on the right (hopes his injury is minor), the thought of reverting to Krafth or Ritchie is horrifying! However, while we are without Trippier we need to rethink how the midfield is shaped. If the rumour is true that approx 6 weeks is the duration of the injury we need to get through West Ham, Brentford, Chelsea and Crystal Palace in that time... 5 points form those 4 matches would be a decent haul in my opinion.

They literally start a new thread for every topic that enters their heads, regardless of whether there is an existing one covering the exact same topics... Most of the problems are that their thread titles give little indication of what is inside because of the insistence to start a topic title with things like "The thing that is wrong with...." or "I was chatting to my mate and...." and then finishing it off in the first line of the opening entry.

    Away Games

Hello, sorry to start a new topic on this but, my son is desperate to go to an away game and I hope someone can give me some advice. We have zero points so the chances of getting tickets through the usual route would be very slim but, someone told me that there are some people that organise busses to away games and can also secure tickets as well... is the correct and does anyone have any connections that they could share with me? Thanks in advance.

As wonderful a human being as Defoe may be .... he is still something like 39 years old No way will he be able to compete in physical battles with League One lumps of defenders.

Would love to know what he is basing this prediction for us tumbling down the divisions other than his own little dream world.
  7. If this was even officially proposed as a rule change it would need to be agreed to and implemented by all of the other teams in the league. The likelihood of this happening is very low....
  8. I was only asked one time before this week while going into the East Stand. It didn't really add to the time it takes to get in or make it anymore awkward, other than the queue I usually join was formed in the opposite direction to usual which threw me a bit. There is also the added hinderance that there will be a lot of people who are not regular attenders to the ground so the bar code readers seem to completely throw them which also adds to the time it takes getting in.
  9. Just had a generic email from Newcastle United reinforcing the PLAN B Covid message, so we should expect to be asked to produce evidence of vaccination or a negative NHS Covid test result while waiting in the queues to get into the ground.

The academy is near to Whitburn I think, much more desirable land to put houses on, the stadium is literally built on top of polluted land and a mineshaft.
  11. I was going to make the same comment, this is absolutely correct - approx 1Billion less than Ashley is reported to have

For all of our lifetimes we have happily purchased petrol that originated as oil in the KSA (other oil producing regions are available), in fact it is the very entity that has enabled the PIF to be as wealthy as it is. I really wonder if the good people of RTG feel the same outrage when they pop into their local Shell station to fill up....
  13. Saw him and it didn't look good at the time. What a terrible sad thing to happen. RIP Bob Swinney.
  14. Maybe not "the best thing" but, I understand your point and it would definitely be a benefit to us to not have to play this match this week.
  15. I guess it would take a formation shuffle into a 4 - 3 - 3 or similar. I am just saying I wouldn't be devastated to have Ritchie back as long as it is not at left wing back... I hate him playing there. Probably just mentally preparing myself for 2pm tomorrow when the teams are released and Ritchie's name is there on it !! haha.

Is it true that most "hard core "Heed" fans detest Newcastle with a passion unmatched by even the most rabid Sunderland fan in my experience" ? Been to a couple of Gateshead games and heard no anti-Newcastle talk whatsoever.... maybe they only share the hatred out loud with rabid Sun'lun fans.....
  17. I wouldn't be too against Ritchie coming back into the team, just not as a wing back. He is way too slow and gets caught out of position too often. If we play with Lewis LWB and Ritchie ahead of him I think we are OK.

  19. From where I was sitting I could only hear loud boo's
  20. I often wonder if we - as supporters - look at things with different eyes to a coach or football manager. Honestly I have hated watching Clark play for us since day one, I have never seen a player less comfortable to have the ball at his feet, he never wants it and when he does end up with it we usually see an aimless hoof up the field. Yet, time after time, manager after manager, he gets a start and he is never any different. I mean Dummett is uncomfortable on the ball as well but, he has pace and a good tackle in him so I could half forgive his weaknesses. Clark on the other hand is terrible. I see 16 year old kids with more football brain than him.... Last night was the climax of shitness..... to miss the ball so clumsily and allow one of the slowest strikers in the Premier League to get a step on him was rotten and then to pull his shirt in full knowledge of what would follow was just thick, I mean really thick!! I would have preferred to go one nil down at 8 minutes than to have to play the rest of the game with 10 men.... luckily Norwich are terrible and didn't capitalise at all. Our 10 were incredible, Shelvey and Joelinton..... what the hell has happened to them both? They were everywhere and put in shifts that deserve high praise. I am still hopeful that we can avoid the drop - 24 games left and a transfer window. It wont take a lot to get us to be better than the rest of the rubbish at the bottom of the league, it is hard to see it now but, maybe 10 or 11 wins out of our final 24 games might be enough. Got to stay positive, that team performance and the crowd deserve better!!

I think 8 different managers since November 2017 (16 since Steve Bruce was there) tells a different story!
  23. Is it not tomorrow yet? I cannot wait for this one, feels like it did before the Spurs game but, with a hope that we might win!
  24. I 100% don't doubt you but, isn't grass already green? Surely having loads of that on a football pitch would have some effect on superimposed graphics?
  25. Cover up the Sport Direct advertising.... now that would be something!!
