I was listening to Radio Newcastle in the car on Saturday after their match and they were slating the strategy of West Brom for having a loan player in their first team.... Depends which stand you are in. East Stand you need 10mins before kick off, all the rest are no trouble to get through turnstyles as far as I can see.

The atmosphere during the 5 - 1 changed noticably during the game from even before kick off with the police being ridiculous while we were walking to the ground, so hyped up that one of them even pushed my dad - who is 73 - to get him to walk faster when he had stopped to talk to one of them. I think he said something like there must be quite a bit of overtime available on the derby day because he hadn't seen as many police in town for a while. Then the nerves based around really not wanting to lose through the the elation of coming away as 5 - 1 winners and there being practically no mackems left in the ground. For the best atmosphere I have experienced in many a year it is impossible to go any further than the 4 - 4 with Arsenal. I am in the East Stand and even there the people were on their feet cheering and singing.... This doesn't happen - as I am sure other East Standers will verify.... Best moments in my life though - not football related I am afraid. Mostly revolve around my kids....

I think you are being very generous in your summary of the game. You are 100% right that if those two decisions had gone against us then this forum would be a different place today. 100% not offside and 100% over the line, no doubt. However, it is very hard for me to be distracted from an excellent 2nd half performance and a very valueable draw for us. That said last night is the best I have seen Everton play for a long time - not that I follow your form that closely, Baines is playing out of his skin right now. You don't have too much to be worried about this season if that form can be maintained.
