  1. When I sat in the Milburn the PA was spot on but, now I am in the East Stand it is impossible to hear anything that is said, hope our lass doesn't go into labour while I am at the match!!
  2. Some kid hit the cross bar yesterday but, the biggest cheer came when Lockwood tripped over a blade of grass and fell flat on his arse.
  3. Agreed. Well, if that was as a result of what I wrote my response would be that you should enjoy the few games that you do actually attend instead of sitting there moaning all the way through about how shite a certain player is or how rubbish we are as a team. You may not realise but, that really winds people up! (plus not necessarilly a dig at anyone in particular on here, just my observation!)
  4. East Stand toilets are a joke, they need some serious money spending on them!! Why do people think it is ok to have a smoke at half time in the loo? Inconsiderate cunts in my opinion!! The time it takes to get in through the east stand turnstyles, even with the cards it takes forever for some people to get through! There is a bloke near me who burps garlic every game, kebab or something and it is every time and constant. Mate, please believe me it is not nice!! Ocasionally we are graced with one of his lingering farts as well. I would rather you didn't if it is all the same. Cup games, when your usual neighbours aren't necessarilly there and a whole set of people who never go to the game are moaning about the team, the tactics and anything that they can dream up in their limited supporting efforts!! And if anyone is considering starting a mexican wave, seriously don't!!!!
  5. How is everyone feeling about Milner? What sort of reception? Personally I don't see him in the same light as Nobby or Les so don't think I want to applaud hi but, I also don't feel the need to boo him either..........

    Mind your language

I am really liking Joe Kinnear.
  8. Mark Halsey has not been given a Premier League match to referee this weekend, instead he has been given a League 2 game. The reason given was because he stated in his report that he gave Terry the red card for serious foul play, the FA panel recinded the card because, in their opinion, it was not serious foul play. If it had been awarded for a professional foul the card would have probably stood.
  9. Not really the point though is it? This season is supposed to be the season of respect for refs and all that yet the chelsea players surrounded Halsey while Terry argued as well. Players are supposed to leave the field immediately. If it had been Joey barton who did that "tackle" do you think he would have been let off? Absolutely not - not that any of that is relevent of course!
  10. Even more unbelievable is the next news story down on their site. The red card for John Terry's rugby tackle at the weekend has been withdrawn and he no longer faces a three match ban!!
  11. Personally I am surprised that Hull took so long to "break" the story.
  12. Looking around at some of the other football forums it is clear that most fans of football are right up on their high horses about NUFC now, thanks to the media we are rapidly becoming one of the most hated clubs in English football now, sad while there are so many more deserving clubs for that title. Can you imagine the uproar if it had been Rooney, Gerrard or Lampard on the end of it rather than some wanker from Hull?
  13. It is likely that the new signings (Xisco and Nacho) may not start, it is unlikely that they have even met their NUFC colleagues yet so unless Hughton is very confident in their ability and playing style he would be reluctant (in my opinion) to put them straight in the side. Although the need for available players may over ride this situation! That means that we are going to be struggling to put out a fully experienced first eleven and the bench is likely to include some academy players. Very sad that we come into the first game after a transfer window with a depleted squad and hardly enough players to put out a strong first eleven!!
  14. As I speak to people I know who go to the match there is a real mix of opinions, as there is on here as well. Most people have gotten over the bewilderment and fury of Keegan's departure and this has mellowed into something of an acceptance that we are basically way out of our depth in terms of what we can do that would make the slightest difference to what Ashley will persevere on with regardlesly. Mid term he will probably sell, assuming a buyer comes along who has the cash and the inclination to get involved. sadly NUFC, along with 15 other Premier League teams, do not make the staggering amounts of profit that would interest anyone enough to plough a fortune of their money into it. It is, instead, a self perpetuating machine that makes just about enough to cover the costs with a modest dividend at the end of it for the owner, the new owner would, instead, have to be a football fan (preferrabley of the Toon variety) and wealthy enough not to care an awful lot about making a lot more money, unless we hit the top four and then it is all about the money! Short term we are stuck with Mike Ashley and his board, although a lot of the enjoyment of his "toy" has been removed for Ashley as he would be a little concerned for his own welfare should he decide that another day out in the stands was in order, heard rumours that he has employed a couple of ex SAS as personal body guards, not a lot of use when you are surrounded really though I suppose! (that is not a direct threat to Ashley by the way, I am sure he has considered all of this already). Most people I have spoken to intend to go to the Hull match, the atmosphere will be very tense by the feedback I am getting and 100% of the people want to support the players and the team, Ashley and co won't be there but, there will be cameras from every media source looking for a scoop and I am pretty sure they will get what they want.
  15. Some of the papers are reporting that Poyet has met officials of NUFC yesterday, mmm. Just a thought from me. When Poyet was with Wise at Leeds, albeit the 3rd division, Leeds stormed up the league, winning their first so many games and only really started to flounder after Poyet left to join Spurs, whose season took a turn for the better once Poyet arrived. I happen to think that he (Poyet) would make a very decent coach and while he would never ignite the fans and gain any great love I feel he would quietly plod along making us a decent club and interesting to watch play (again).
  16. Bit of a mixed reaction but, it seems that most people do not want to boycott any games, which is completely fair enough like - reaction has completely shifted from last week when everybody wanted the world to know that they were pissed off and prepared to do anything to prove it!! Personally I don't want to boycott any matches either, my point was that for those who still wanted that type of protest the Spurs game would have been the better one to exercise that right at rather than a one that was already paid for and covered by the season ticket. I still haven't applied for my ticket for this match, I have a feeling that I am going to apply, just wanted to test general opinion on here to see what others were planning to do. Who's going? Who's not (for any reason)?
  17. We have all paid for our season tickets already, missing the Hull match, walking out or whatever only hurts us and the team - who still need us!!! There is a match coming up where the club relies on season ticket holders and the public to pay extra (apart from those with cup tickets in their package). Surely this is the game to avoid, I mean the closing date for season ticket applications is 11th Sept, this week. If people haven't applied for their seats by the end of this week then a huge message is sent to the club and more importantly Ashley. Usually I would not hesitate in getting a ticket for this, I love beating the Spuds but, this time I am not going to go, plus it's on tele!! Maybe a poll would be relevent here, a) Going, b) not going

    E-mail...

They did mention that they had received a load of e mails telling them that the mob of mongs outside St James' were not representative of Newcastle fans generally. So glad they squeezed that one in, laughed my cock off when the news flash banner changed to Newcastle United announce that Keegan has NOT been sacked.
  21. What time did the Barton bid come in, was it around 11pm?
  22. That doesn't sound at all like the Tony Jiminez that I know. Ok, I don't know him so I don't know whether it is true. Just wrote it to see if anyone wanted to make a comment.
