  1. Valancia are here in Newcastle, they may have arrived late but, surely they could have dragged their arses out of bed by 3pm. Lazy bastards!!
  2. It's buggered up my plans, I have a table booked for dinner at 7:30 at The Himalaya at Birltley, hopefully they can move the booking back half an hour of so.
  3. For what it is worth I think Kane has a point, made in a slightly overly aggressive manner of course. Thought the police created the situation in that corner because they were simply looking for some trouble and some smaller people that they could push around, imagine going to court and they read the charge out: Arrested on Wed 6th August for having possession of a football at a football match.............
  4. Their second goal was a joke, don't think you would see such lax defending in a game that mattered. Think the score was irrelevant last night, it was good to see some effort and something approaching a perfomance.

Ah, I see. Lucky bastard!! He was caught twice in 2 weeks at over 100 mph on the spine road!! If that had been anyone else they would have been banned for a year!
  6. I really enjoyed the match, when I saw there were no strikers playing I feared the worst but, the lads on the pitch did fine. Jonas was great, think he was blowing a bit by the end but, his fittness will continue to improve, Guthrie was solid and looks a fantastic prospect. Was watching the lads in the South East Corner, in the second half there were about 3 times as many people in there as there was for the first half, obviously people went there for the atmosphere etc. Thought the police got it completely wrong, the lads were having a great time cheering and making a decent atmosphere and the police who were obviously bored and looking for some easy targets waded in mob handed pulling random kids out and pushing them around like big men!! There was about 10k people in the ground in total and if that is how the police react to a small crowd I am waiting to see how they cope with a full stadium in a few weeks time!! Pathetic to be honest. Glad Smith wasn't playing, long may that continue!! When we have our strikers back and some of these new, exciting signings that are just around the corner we will be ok.

    Duff is banned isn't he?
  9. There are few people in football who are held in such esteem as Sir Bobby, I hope that he enjoys and relishes the remaining time he has left in the same manner as he has enjoyed all that went before. Bobby, you are a true North East and National Legend, you will be remembered for a very very long time. God bless you.

Was sitting in Nandos at The Gate after the match last night when Geremi came in with another bloke, 11:06pm he was turned away as they were closing for the night!!
  11. The Sports Bar is slap bang in the middle of the Leazes End in Level 2. At least you will get a beer easily at half time....
  12. Level 7 is not open at all for this game, looks like the crowd is going to be very sparce!
  13. Based on the poll at the top of this thread we are going to be looking at a very low crowd on Wednesday night, if only 1 in 10 are going to be going, from thise who have answered the poll, we could well have sub 10k in the ground!! I am going to both upcoming games, I have missed football since the season finished.
  14. I heard the advert on Century, adult tickets from £300. That is for an adult in the family area, need to spend £100 per kid on top of that, you can't just get an adult ticket on its own in that area of the ground.
  15. Limited availability in Sovereign Club, Bar 1892, Black and White Club ha ha ha, ok if you want to spend £990 on a ticket!! I have plenty of money but, drew the line at those prices and got a move elsewhere in the ground. I know at least 2 people who have chucked their tickets this year for various reasons but, the main one was that they have not been enjoying the match for the last 2 - 3 years. Fair enough really but, once the season starts I could not walk around Newcastle on a home Saturday knowing I was not going to the game. The buzz, even when we are playing like we have in recent seasons, is awesome!!

I know the person in your footer with the facebook thing. What's up?
  17. There are so many seats free this year you really have nothing much to worry about if you want a seat this year!!

    08/09 Squad Numbers

Think that Gutierrez (Spelling?) is going to be 18.
  19. It is not only money though. Say a club like Wigan or Bolton managed to hook a multi Billionaire as an owner do you really thing that they could simply buy the greatest players in the world? I don't I think that the top players wouldn't want to go to Bolton (no disreaspect and just using them as an example - in fact you could replace Bolton with any club outside the top 4 and then outside of London). Chelsea are in a position where they occupy one of the more more geographically desirable locations in the UK (not for me I must add, I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to live in London, I think it's a stink hole!) and have a very wealthy owner. QPR have the richest board in football but, they are not signing anyone that makes the news!! Players only want to go to clubs that offer them glamour, there are a number of fashonable clubs around - Man Utd, Liverpool because of history, Arsenal have always been there or there abouts, Barcelona, Real, Inter, Milan, etc etc now Chelsea have entered that realm. Personally I now realise that Newcastle won't win the league in my lifetime, I saw them come bloody close in the 90's. I just want to see a team that can compete and maybe lift a trophy, something to be proud of. Doing that the right way, as we are, will make it all the more sweet.
  20. I have moved to the East Stand with my dad this season and I'm an old bugger as well so we can all sit and be grumpy together!!
  21. They were the most pissed off customers after the hike so there will be plenty of choice for you in that area.................YOU RICH BASTARD!!!! People who have tickets in the Platinum Club had to pay a fee for the privilige when that area was created, which is why - up until this year - the seats were much cheaper than the bar seats that surrounded them. This year the renewal has gone up to £935 and as a result a few people are chucking the tickets but, I think the box office lad said that they would be looking to sell their original stake (bond if you like) rather than simply not renew. That said, there is a very good chance you could get a single seat in that area this season if you want it and can afford it. Note: As a Premium Season Ticket holder you will automatically become a member of Newcastle United Club, this entitles you to purchase an additional match ticket up to 4 weeks before general sale and you get a members gift pack worth over £35. Additionally, the love just doesn't end there, you get 10 issues of the Newcastle United Club Magazine which will launch this summer.
  22. Been to St James' today to pick my new seat from the numerous options they offered me. While I was wandering around the stadium the lad from the box office who was accompanying us said that they had hardly anyone in the bar seats last year want to renew again this year, in fact the Black and White Club at the Leazes side of the Milburn stand had no-one who had renewed, due to cost! He said that the club has plans to put individual match tickets up for the coming season because they are aware that a lot of former members are planning to buy tickets only for individual "glamour" games like S*nde*l*nd, Man Utd and Liverpool. They will also be lowering the prices for matches like Hull and Stoke, some tickets in the Gallowgate may be as low as £15 for those games. I am happy anyway, I am out of the Sovereign Club (shame because the bar and the comfy seats were welcome) and across into the East Stand and now paying £650 instead of the proposed £990, in fact as I have taken the price freeze option for three years my ticket is actually under £600. Anyone who wants a season ticket for the coming season is pretty much guarenteed to get offered one although looks like the bulk of them are going to be in the Premier areas of the ground.
  23. Even though I have gone to the match for years the feeling I get when I emerge through the entrance and I can see the inside of the stadium has never changed from the first time I saw it, all the changes have only served to make it better in my opinion. I love that our stadium is in the heart of the city as well and just a short walk from the pub.

    Newcastle TV

I had the displeasure of sitting in a Chelsea bar before the match at Stamford Bridge last season watching Chelsea TV's build up to the game. I can honestly say it was pure shite, horrible, unprofessional and generally cringworthy to watch. That is the only bespoke tv channel I have seen for a football club but, if that is the standard of the journalism and reporting I would be tempted to give it a wide berth.
