Season Tickets due to arrive Thursday/Friday - see OP for latest
pinkeye replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
They are down to the last few thousand renewals, mainly those who have requested to move seats. I will say in all honesty there will be a few tickets available for those who fancy a punt at a season ticket this year. More than likely the bulk of tickets available will be in the Premium Seats / Bar areas - £990 each............. -

I hope so and I hope it continues! Although I didn't actually say there would be gaps in the crowd, I said that it makes me worried that there would be gaps based on the amount of choice I had to choose from following my request to move seats. -

I asked to move last year and was totally fobbed off by the box office, they said that it was unlikely that I would get a move as they had pretty much everyone wanting to renew! The fact that this year it is so easy makes me worried that we will have a lot of gaps come the forst home game, especially as it is against Bolton! -

I just had a call from the box office, I requested a move out of the Sovereign Club because of the cost of the ticket this year. I sit with my dad so needed two seats together, I was surprised at how many different pairs of seats they have offered me. Going up there on Wed morning to have a look at a couple of seats in the East Stand, just want to make sure that they are far enough back to stop the sun getting in my eyes when it shines over the top of the Milburn. There were seats available in every stand!! The girl said that they are down to the last 3000 or so applications which are all requests to move seats, anyone who hasn't heard about their seat yet will get a call this week. -
Is anyone else thinking Danny Guthrie = another Matty Patterson?
-
Would be a shame for him to go but, with his constant sulking he cannot be doing any favours to the general atmosphere around the training ground etc. And what with London being about an hour, by air, closer to France it will make all the difference for his feelings of homesick!! I have always said that no matter who the player is, that if they do not want to be at Newcastle United then it is time to let them go and get in players who want to be part of this club.
-
From a Liverpool fan on another football forum following the announcement of Guthrie joining Newcastle: "Danny did ok at Bolton but never quite looked up to the job for us. Good player in the right team, though not one who will tear up any trees."
-
My text said that the club and player had reached agreement etc etc.
-
Where Pretty much everywhere now mate. Sky are saying that we still need to agree terms with the player though.
-
Confirmed as signed 3pm today 11th July.
-
Mirandina, Nobby, Acuna all great players and played an important role in the history of the club. My dad will tell me that teh Robledo (sp) brothers were very special as well.
-
That is not what I was saying, I was saying that the transfer window is officially open as of today 1st July so all speculation and expectation before now was exactly that. Today the real business of signing players can begin.
-
Think it was clever tactics by the club to offer a pay cut. It was obvious that the player would refuse the offer but, it goes on record that we have tried to compromise based on the circumstances of the player. Now that he has entered a guilty plea and will receive a suspended prison sentence we have by default offered the olive branch which was pushed away leaving us with no other alternative but, to sever ties and terminate the contract. Plus he would never get a shin pad over the top of his electronic tag!!

Guess around week comm 21st July or maybe the week after. -
Sorry! I have nothing at all to bring to the table yet. The club is being really guarded with information regarding players who we are interested in. I just have confidence that it will come good.
-
It doesn't really matter there is one fact in there that cannot be argued with which is that up until today no actual deals could have been done, only agreements in principle. The other point is subjective in that I believe that the people at the club are capable of running the club and a fully aware of what we need to compete in the Premier league. Whether it is at the top, the bottom or in the middle of the league is a matter for them to decide where they want to be. We all know what we want and I am pretty sure that is also what Ashley, Keegan, Wise et al are also wanting as well.
-
The transfer window officially is now open so all the speculation and concerns of forum members can now be put to bed as business can officially start to happen. 100% confidence in the team at St James' to bring in what we need without going crazy and competing in the pricing bun fights that seem to go on in certain circles. Bring it on!!

I am waiting to hear what is available for a voluntary move as well. I made it very clear in my accompanying letter that I sent with the forms (mine and my dads) that if we did not get a move to one of the six areas in the ground that I requested that we would not be renewing at all. Out of interest I put down the following areas: 1) Milburn Paddock - Catagory 1 cost (£658) 2) East Stand - Cat 1 area first followed by Cat 2 area (both £658) - specified as close to the back of this stand as possible due to the sun that shines over the Milburn Stand. 3) South West Corner - Catagory 4 (£543) 4) South East Corner - As above 5) Gallogate - Catagory 3 (£543) How do you rate the chances of getting into one of the preferred areas? I guess that I am really hoping for seats in the East Stand if I am honest. -
If it is true and he is out of jail already that is a travesty of justice and makes a mockery of this countries, already poor, justice system. If he is only given a suspended sentence for causing actual bodily harm to Dabo then, that again, makes the whole thing a farce. Whatever Keegan, Ashley or anyone has to say about him I personally, as a paying season ticket holder and lifelong supporter of NUFC, would far rather never see him play in Black & White again. Embarrassed!!!
-
He is not really looking after the more affluent season ticket holders because members with so called "Premium Seats" such as Platinum Club and Sovereign Club have seen the biggest increases in cost this time round. Take your point about those who can afford to commit to 3 years getting a better deal than those who choose to spot buy but, that is the same in everything in life. Buy in bulk and save cost. It will be really interesting to see how many people are actually in the ground for the first home game of the season, typically one of the poorest turn out games of the season anyway (Bolton).
-
He is supposed to be interested in buying them as they are about to go into administration and he spends most of the year living out there now as well. Was in todays Journal.
-
Anyone know whether there is an organised trip to the Mallorca Tournament? Easy Jet have magically put their prices up for that weekend to around £100 our and £80 back, should be able to find cheap hotels in and around Magaluf though!!
-
Me and my dad have had a ticket each in the Sovereign Club Bar area for a good few years now and each year the cost has increased by a few % until this year when it has rocketed to £990. That is too much so I have sent my renewal back with a note to move me to one of six preferred areas in the ground and if they are not available I have requested that they don't bother to renew our tickets. I predict that huge areas of the Milburn stand will be empty for several home games this year. £52 per game to buy a season ticket and who knows what they will charge for the seats on a game by game basis. I feel particularly sorry for the Platinum Club members as they had to pay a membership fee to get into that area in the first place and their tickets have gone up by over £200 for the season this year. Still not heard anything but, I suppose people who are being moved from the Leazes Level 7 will be getting the first choice of available seats in the ground before me and others who are wanting to move for other reasons. To be honest I am expecting to renew, just a hunch.
