  1. I have a few interesting questions for you: 1) Who were Newcastle playing when they recorded their highest attendance of 68386? 2) Who holds the record for the most league and cup goals in a season? 3) What year did Newcastle record their first FA Cup victory? 4) Who were the opponents for above? 5) Which team stopped Newcastle's record unbeaten run at the start of the 1992/3 promotion season? 6) When Newcastle beat Royal Antwerp in the 1994 UEFA cup what was the aggregate score? I can probably get a few more but, there's 6 to start off with to see who is the NUFC brain of the forum. (Or more likely who can get the answers off the internet the quickest!!)

    Animals

The thing is that regardless whether the story refers to a social problem or not it still reflects badly on Newcastle United. Showing that a proportion of our fan base is yet to emerge from cave man status.

    Animals

It has been years since I last saw any sort of football related violence in Newcastle, I really thought those days were a long way behind us. There is seriously absolutely no need for it!!

    Duff's Dive

    Guess "Quiminal Investigation Authority"
  5. That is mine as well. A couple of those paper planes really covered some distance. Another (regular) none football favourite moment of mine is the Away Fans Challenge formerly at The Vault and currently at Sam Jacks, always makes me laugh!!

    St James' Park

Like most people who have responded to this thread St James's means everything to me. As I walk up the stairs with the crowd towards my entrance I can feel the excitement growing and even though I have been going to the match for more years than I care to mention I still get a huge rush as I see the pitch for the first time. The hairs on my neck stand up!! These days the P.A. is normally blasting out Thunderstruck as I enter the ground but, when the Fortuna tune starts and the players come out the adrenaline really starts to flow and once the Local Hero theme comes on the emotion is at it's peak!!!!!! When the crowd is really on song and we are playing well the atmosphere becomes electric, can you imagine being on the pitch as a player while all this is going on? St James's Park is without doubt the best stadium in the UK, has the best location and the best fans! Just need a team to really make the place complete. The Keegan days were the ones for me. Andy Cole scoring for fun and winning all the time. Good times indeed..............

    dear mongs

I'm not an Ultra or a mong but, I think the song that Man Utd sang, to the tune of The Entertainer, is: "Follow follow follow, Because United are going to Glasgow, There'll be thousands of "reds" They'll all be pissed out their heads, Because United are going to Glasgow."
  8. They don't seem to hate us when they are in the bars around town before the match...... They even get their own little act to do in Sam Jacks!!
  9. ;D That's a pretty unbiased sample, isn't it? Sorry, not all are blues fans, a couple support West Brom as well. No-one likes Villa! They call them The Vile and keep on with accronyms such as SOTV (shit on the villa - I think).
  10. That will probably have to be hastily concluded after the match tonight then as I am sure Roeder has other things to be getting on with right now!! Prepare the team for a match that WE ALL WANT TO FUCKIN WIN!!
  11. Is it fair to say that we have concluded any business that is going to take place this window? I.E. One loan signing!
  12. No-one in the country likes Aston Villa, so they have to live in their own deluded little world. I know a couple of lads from that neck of the woods who support Birmingham and they told me that Villa are the least popular team in the Midlands.
  13. Just thought that West Ham seem to be amassing a fair collection of defenders........ Could be a mile off course.
  14. A decent sustained run of 1 -0 vistories would make me happy at the moment, 4 - 3's are too much to bear. I was just thinking on Saturday that Martins can really turn and get his shot in quickly, he will score a lot more of those than he misses in my opinion.

    Roeder's statements

Not easy to answer this question because Roeder tends to be very mono in his interviews, not giving too much away. In fact he tends to repeat the same stuff in a different format most of the time. He is not a screamer, he is not the most passionate man (football related - not sure about anything else) but, he does care. He was a top player and is a good coach. I think his management skills are quite weak and ultimately his statements are watered down with little content of any substance.
  16. I think the club is releasing small clues as to the fruitlessness of this transfer window so that the fans eventually resign themselves to disappointment. It has been clear from the start of the season that we have needed to strengthen in certain departments and if we can see this surely the staff at St James's can also see it and start to plan well in advance of the window opening!! I would have expected to see movement from very early in the month however, now I expect to see us struggle through the season with what we have!! We are one or two injuries away from absolute catastrophy.
  17. Every manager we have had has always sung the praises of Shola. Me, I think he has a very lazy style of play but, seems to pop a few in from time to time. Obviously he has been overdue the surgery for a couple of seasons so when he comes back I would prefer to hold back my judgement until I have seen him in a few games. I would be very happy for Roeder's prediction to come true!

    Rennie today

Oh really? Please tell how it is that I have no clue then. Bump... i'd really like to know tbh. Think he has some sort of hernia. Must admitt that when I saw he was the ref for yesterday I was doubtful but, all in all he had a decent game. Consistant with both teams and if anything did us a favour on the Milner goal. http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c011.gif
  19. At away games we outsing the home fans every time, it's just a thing that happens. It tends to be the most fervent supporters (of any team) that attend home and away matches.
  20. Something like this? http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/ekelig/a030.gif
  21. I would say not acceptable, it is widely known that we are in the market for defenders and a striker and we have seen nothing concrete in any website that leads us to believe that deals are about to complete. It is a short window of 31 days and we need to see that the men in charge are doing something for the good of the club!!
  22. I would guess that your view would be constantly interupted by late arrivers and people who need to go to the toilet every 5 minutes and people who have to leave 5 minutes early etc etc.
  23. Found a mobile phone tone of it: http://ringtones.mobilefun.co.uk/monophonic-ringtones/4228_52-Theme-The-Entertainer.htm Hope it works!
  24. I would have to link to my memory mate, I remember from scholl some girl doing a piano reciptal and playing that, I'll have a play and see whether I can find it anywhere.
