  1. Exactly, the point is that we are bigger than any player and we have an absolutely top manager looking after a really good team. Lots of room for improvement but it’s great to hear from Eddie. His statue’s going to be epic I reckon.
  2. I can't see how anyone could argue that a fee of, say, £150m for Isak was above fair market value. It's exactly fair market value for one the best strikers in the world.
  3. This almost sounds like news.
  4. Yeah, this is partly why overall I'm not in the mental "PIF have checked out" camp or depressed over the direction of the club. Short term it's a bit of a mess but I don't really doubt that they are already looking at how to get a better structure in place to make us fully capable in the future.
  5. I just don’t see any reason that Man City would hijack the deal in July but not in June.
  6. That’s what Howe wanted, I just don’t think it was realistic. Every manager wants their players in as soon as possible, very rarely happens. Humans tend to work to the amount of time a deadline allows them. Especially when we can’t just outspend everyone to get whoever we want.
  7. I never expected speed, that’s why I’m not disappointed yet. Apart from Isak obviously. But I did say that Isak leaving renders everything else irrelevant because we would finish on less points no matter who else we sign.
  8. Pay him more than Isak for a laugh.
  9. Line is actually “is ever going to happen” IIRC. Shocking gif.
  10. I like MLB where you draft a player and he doesn’t come into the team for 5-7 years
  11. All our bids happen, they just don't succeed.
  12. Feels like 80-100m is too much, maybe that's why he hasn't been snapped up yet?
  13. Would be ridiculous if so. You're a rich person that leaves home a lot, you could burgled anywhere.
  14. It's a great team apart from upfront TBH.
  15. Of course but they would need a very good reason to say no and there's really not much we can do about that.
  16. I think pretty much everyone we've targeted has left their club actually, just not to us. And we have made bids for them as well. Apart from that you're right
  17. Sometimes I don't understand your posts at all.
  18. What bollocks. They will appoint people to run the club well as they have tried to do before. And they will run the club well. Jeez.
  19. I’m not saying you’re wrong but I just see this as by definition a part of transfer dealings. We have money we can afford for each player. The answer I guess is to target players that other top teams don’t want like Bruno and Botman. But they also have to be good enough to move us up places in the league, it’s not an easy one. FWIW the most important thing for me is to sort out the executive roles we need to fill and establish a proper coherent way of working. I don’t mind which market we end up shopping in as long as we’re trying to improve.
