Guess the generous interpretation is that he's made it impossible for the club and they need to take the money from the only club that wants to stump up. Personally I would rather refuse to sell him to anyone in the PL, but I guess they might decide they can't miss out on the cash. At least tie it to signing a direct replacement or something, I guess.

100%, feels like the wrong people have been appointed in a couple of major cases, but at least we are trying to fill that right positions with people are actually experienced in their jobs.
