I don’t feel like we (fans) need to care really, to be honest. Unless we don’t trust the club and manager to spend their budget in the way they think is best. If we do then I don’t see why we need to care that much if a player costs 40 or 50 million. We can chat about it, of course.

Is he actually poor technically or are we just buying into the stereotype? I know he’s fast but that doesn’t mean he’s not decent at football.

I always thought Elanga was underrated at Man U and looked very dangerous whenever he came on. Weirdly I’m not as excited now but I don’t really know why. Maybe I’m buying into this idea that he’s just a pace merchant but I don’t watch him in enough detail to know if it’s actually true.

Do you not think he lacked the backbone and desire for the main job though? If he’d pushed himself for it he might have got it. I get the feeling he was happy to just step back into a lower pressure job.

Could be a mentality thing as well TBF. The middle teams are surprisingly hard to beat and have the tools to hurt you if you don’t play well. So you may play below your level and they might be able to take points of you if they play well. They also raise their game against you. Since we don't play possession football, we also don't really grind down these teams like Man City can. Maybe less so next season if they all sell their best players.

I think 4 quality additions to the first team would probably make it the best transfer window in living memory TBH. It's certainly more than I'm expecting. Without a major sale that would be close to a dream window, even though I don't 'want' Elanga all that much.

I don't particularly want him but I don't mind if the club do. He's like a younger, better Murphy so will hopefully contribute a lot. I was expecting a left-footed wide forward who cuts inside more though.
