  1. Nice bit of topical satire, unfortunately not true.
  2. Got a feeling if we'd had Jonas, Martins, Guthrie and Barton available nobody would have typed James Milner's name in weeks.
  3. fully agree Cat But at the moment i think it matches the mood of the fans. I dont particularly like a manger whose mouth makes even a foul mouthed git like me cringe but i just cant help but think, is this the right image we want for the club atm? I bet even Bobby wasn't above the odd rant though, no manager could be. Like what I'm hearing from Joe, even if it is a move to create a 'them versus us' atmosphere, it's a good move. We don't need to be worrying about the 'image of the club' at the moment, we just need someone to kick arses and get some points on the board.
  4. Feck off man, he's just telling it like it is. Go Joe!
  5. Very nice gesture, but don't forget he's able to do it because of the massive amount of money he's already collected in his career. Good on him though, nobody else does it.
  6. Not saying he is the long-term answer, but Kinnear is exactly the kind of personality we need in charge of Newcastle - mature enough to see the big picture, stick in when things go wrong and tells it like it is. None of this 'he's a Geordie' or 'he loves the club and knows the fans' bollocks - just a competent man with bags of experience.
  7. I feel the same, if he did something it would obviously be great but I can't really see it.
  8. Looks like we'll only be able to appoint managers between transfer windows then
  9. Get some experience, looks like we have a couple of good young keepers waiting to step up.
  10. Nobody has a clue, I'm not paying any attention to the ownership issue until a deal is done. Until then it's just a pointless discussion - we've had too much mindless speculation over the last few weeks.
  11. Titus might be available in January. He's got potential, that lad.
  12. Ah, but maybe he's going to cover at left back!
  13. Don't think he's going to help his chances of getting anyone by saying 'the players on the list aren't good enough'. Then why look at them Joe? It's a bit blinkered to write them all off IMO - it's amazing what a player can do if someone gives them a second chance.
  14. That OP is way too harsh in the players we should get rid of. IMO all except Smith, Butt and Duff should be persevered with, providing we add more quantity and quality on top.
  15. But has it not always been the case that a tiny proportion of youth team and reserve players make it to the top level? We're talking about premiership football here, as well as the influx of established foreign players to the 'best league in the world'. No matter how much we invest in the academy, it is always going to be massively unlikely that we will produce any star players. From a player's point of view you'd almost be better off not being at a premiership academy, and just making the first team of a lower league or foreign club. I'm surprised more talented English youngsters don't realise that they should try to head over to Europe at about 8 and get picked up from there later!
  16. Will Carr, who I'm assuming is even worse/more unfit than when he was released, be able to do a better job than Edgar, Taylor or any other young defender we've got? I seriously doubt it.
  17. We need a couple of players in January to be honest, waiting until the summer might be far too late.
  18. I would as well, just not so sure he would be able to acheive anything of note even then.
  19. However Seymour Pierce present the information, I would think that any buyer will have their own exhaustive investigation performed - unlike Ashley who seems to have been caught out by the amount of debt.
  20. Even for the goalline thing though, how many dubious goals are there every season like that? Maybe about 4 a year, not worth starting down the path of technology for that. Just accept that football isn't perfect and get on with it.
  21. Bearing in mind I only really know the toon from the first Keegan era, this is pretty bad. But still felt more terror towards the end of the Allardyce reign when I really thought we were going down. Sure that feeling will return if we don't sort ourselves out, but for now it isn't quite as awful.
  22. The only reason I came into this thread. :laugh Any chance of a swift title edit? I know it's pedantic but it's driving me mad
  23. The human element is crucial, yes it hurts when a decision goes against you but that's life. If people would accept that referees make mistakes and decisions can never be perfect the game would be a lot better.
