  1. Fuck of dwarf is a bit more catchy! Anyway before people jump to conclusions just yet lets see what happens It may not be wise that's at the root of this, it's the MD's responsibility to buy and sell players after all See how easy it can happen?
  2. Can we please not make any more banners? Especially not ones that make us look like cretins and are based on rumour we now absolutely nowt about?

    Boycoutt?

There's no cause for a boycott at all, or to do anything to hurt Ashley financially. Keegan and Ashley have both done good jobs so far, support them both.
  4. I don't see why Dennis Wise should go, what has he done wrong in all of this?
  5. You do actually, a lot of clubs have changed managers often. It just seems bad when it's us...
  6. Aye, that's true, got to give them their dues for that. The end justifies the means.
  7. The fact that there seems to have been two days of meetings with not much coming out makes me hope that things are really being sorted out. Hopefully KK is older and wiser now, and Ashley is a good enough businessman to know when he needs to compromise to keep a star man in his organisation. Conflict is normal in big business like this, it's how you work it through that decides if you'll be a success. If someone walks out, it's impossible to work it through. Unarguable - but even so, Keegan might be forgiven a hissy fit and a walk-out if he later calms down and comes back to talk. Nobody is perfect.
  8. Agree with all of this So neither of you remember the sacking of Sir Bobby and replacing him with Souness? Or how about replacing him with Glen Roeder? Short memories. I know a mental day like this polarises opinion, but if anyone really thinks Ashley is worse than Shepherd they need to check themselves. Who brought back KK in the first place, who got rid of Allardyce? We could well be in the Championship right now if Ashley and then Keegan hadn't come in, they both deserve credit.
  9. I think that could well happen, and if it does I would have a much higher opinion of both Keegan and Ashley. It would be refreshing to see a disagreement in football not leading to toys raining down out of prams and someone getting the boot.

  11. Keegan is an amazing guy, and yes he might convince some players, but for young foreigners who aren't so familiar with him we still need a proper recruitment and scouting team.
  12. My god, I'm sticking up for Alan Oliver today, the world has officially gone mental.
  13. Me too, I've been saying I would drift away from hardcore support but when it comes down to it I couldn't click anything other than 'Yes'.
  14. Said it before, I'm embarrassed to support the toon sometimes. The media must be getting all moist at the material we've given them today, they might have to print an extra paper tomorrow for it all.
  15. I completely agree with this. I understand how people are carried away by their love for Keegan, I remember how amazing the first time was. But the way some people have turned against Ashley over this is disappointing. I still believe he has an excellent long-term strategy for this club, better than any owner we've had. Maybe we get the club we deserve sometimes, reacting like this?
  16. I think maybe Ashley underestimated KK's desire and ability to get involved with player recruitment in a detailed way. Since he wasn't around for KK the first time, he had maybe bought into the idea that he was mainly a motivator and not very good in the transfer market (he would have also been concerned by the financial state of the club when he bought it). I know a lot of the press and some fans were unsure about the same thing when KK arrived, would he be out of touch with modern football and the players that are available? With those facts in mind Ashley put in place a progressive recruitment policy that was alien to KK. This might well have led to KK being pissed off, and being who he is, this quickly escalated to walk-out point. Maybe we needed these discussions to get things calibrated slightly more in KK's favour.
  17. I love Keegan, but acting with dignity isn't one of his main features. Agree with what you say about the end result though, maybe the balance of power just needed to be adjusted a bit.
  18. However, i will praise the fans at the ground. Good to see them showing support to Keegan. Aye, but they took it far too far didn't they? Singing 'sack the board' when they hadn't the first idea what the situation was.
  19. It's not as simple as that though. Obviously I want more than anything for KK to be our manager, but I still think that Ashley and team Wise have done a good job with getting players. What this club lacked was a solid recruitment policy, Ashley has tried to rectify that, with good results so far.
  20. I wouldn't like it either. As I've said I think Wise et al have done a good job, the balance of power just needs to be shifted a bit back towards Keegan.
  21. I hope this doesn't result in the dismantling of the Wise/Jimenez team though, they've recruited some good players for reasonable fees. It sounds like it just needs to be tweaked a bit so that Keegan has more say.
  22. The way some respectable broadcasters have reported this today is nothing short of diabolical. The BBC in particular have been a disgrace, first going with 'Keegan and Newcastle Part Company', and now back-pedalling to 'Keegan Future Shrouded in Mystery' without any mention of what they have previously reported as fact. It is disgraceful, even if KK does turn out to have walked, they way they've reported it is shocking.
  23. I just hope it's a compromise that sees the current system kept in place but with a few tweaks that suit Keegan slightly better. I think it would be worth this flare-up if we are more secure going forward. We don't really know whether it was a 'row' at all to be honest, might just as easily been a constructive meeting.
