  1. It was Barton with the first assist. If he didn't get booked so often he'd be a decent fantasy pick now!
  2. I was very surprised at the Villa performance, especially when they went behind they just seemed to lack the fight. Might have been very different if Agbonlahor had stuck that chance away though... It might NOT have been either. I know, that's why I said might. Not trying to be negative, great performance tonight.
  3. Didn't think the Ref was that bad, was a niggly game and quite hard to referee.
  4. I was very surprised at the Villa performance, especially when they went behind they just seemed to lack the fight. Might have been very different if Agbonlahor had stuck that chance away though...
  5. Started a bit shaky but soon got the measure of the Villa attackers. Not quite up with Woodgate as the best toon CB I've seen yet, but his fitness is a lot better.
  6. Word up, awesome to go to bed with a performance like that behind us for once. I remember when this used to happen most weeks, we seem to be on the up again though.
  7. Yeah, definitely short of a RB. I wish Beye was 5 years younger!
  8. This is close to how I feel. I don't love him as his performances haven't been that good (counting a lot of the last season and his suspension), but he has played well recently and I like the fact that everyone else, apart from us, hates him. We need cunts in the team. He gives us some spine, some fight and he's got quality on the ball as well. Similar to Craig Bellamy, was lovely to have that nasty little bastard on your side.
  9. Me too, but I'm still not 100% convinced he should be either, weird! He's done all that could be asked so far really, a few dodgy decisions but his points haul is more than decent.
  10. Aye, he just needs to feel the confidence of the manager and fans behind him. A consistent run of games and he'll be out best LB for years.
  11. Joey still has some work to do with regards his temper, Setanta did exaggerate his antics tonight but if the ref had spotted that flick on Agbonlahor's face he could easily have been sent off. I'm backing him still, but cautiously for the moment.
  12. To be fair Milner today showed why we were right to snap Villa's hands off for £12m. A hardworking player, but lacks pace and crossing and shooting ability. The way Setanta were saying he has pace etc before the game was laughable. It's like they just recite the 'rough guide to premier league reputations' before every game.
  13. We haven't always looked good under Kinnear but I think we have been improving. Obviously one of the biggest factors is the players returning from injury.
  14. How? How? How? How was that again?
  15. Brilliant save again by Shay to keep the sheets clean, but credit for the general level of defending. Keep Enrique at leftback, keep this back four the same as long as they're fit.
  16. Solid job from Joe, could turn out to be a lot better than solid if we keep this going.
  17. Table is very tight, that's why we need to keep the momentum going - we can't rely on any shit teams to go down easily this year. Well not as easily as usual anyway.
  18. Not now I wouldn't, don't look back at any other posts I've made in this thread mind! On the up now baby!
  19. The problem Villa have is that their strengths are too obvious and to some extent they're one dimensional. If you can control the balls down the line to the wide men you have a good chance against them.
  20. Can't stop smiling at the moment, not only a massive result but a more than decent performance to go with it. I'll admit I never thought we could win this one, but the lads did us all proud. Confidence back, players back, winning ways back. Chuffed I'm going to Fulham now. On the minus side, how shit were the commentators on Setanta? Couldn't stop mentioning anything negative to do with Newcastle. Don't care now though!
  21. Saw Martin Keown in Oxford the other day, strange.
  22. I can't see us winning this one, but if we do it will be immense for the confidence.
