Random that one. Nice little move for Finnan, I don't know why more players don't try their luck overseas. The lifestyle must be great.

I'll cry, with joy.

I wonder what their postcode might be... I'd rather have an owner who has a pint in a football ground than a chairman who has ten then drives home. I was sitting just in front of Ashley and his mates at Coventry and I was really impressed. Was keeping it low key obviously, but was chatting tactics with everyone and reacting to incidents just like a fan. Good man. People seem to forget that he's the owner and not the chairman. I think he lets the staff get on with running the club to a large extent. He just enjoys it.

Things that won't happen today: 1) Berbatov signing for Man City 2) Owen leaving Newcastle
-
If there's any truth in that we must have another signing lined up. to get rid of Viduak but keep Ameobi and Smith would be madness.
-
Well said If the window closed now we would have done a good bit of business.
-
Man lands on Moon?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF! When did that happen?
-
Will be some consolation when the finish in exactly same position as last season.
-
Keegan out, and Ashley as well while we're at it!

Bullard is a good player, but he's not one for the future. And he's not going to be thrown into the first team against Croatia is he? So I don't see the point in putting him in. And it's not like he hasn't ignored the good form of Agbonlahor and Young, the squad's not exactly revolutionary.

Bravo, most pointless thread of the day.

I know what you mean, but it seems to me like we've conducted our business sensibly, professionally and within our means. Arshavin will probably stay with Zenit, Berbatov will join Man Utd. Pavlyuchenko is a good player and good signing - but Spurs have still gone backwards by selling Berbatov and Keane.
-
I don't think it was ever a statement tbf. Nobody will notice anyway, we'll be so shocked by Berbatov joining Man City we won't think about anything else for days.
-
They would always accept the bid though, no matter who it was from. Still would be very surprised if he ended up at man City.

How the hell did SAHA pass a medical? everton made him touch his toes for the medical And he conceled the resulting ruptured hamstring.

The silver lining if City buy Berbatov (which I don't think they will) might be that they will still finish mid table and he will be off to Madrid or somewhere next summer. I he signs for Man Utd they might well win the premiership and the champions league and they'll be immense for another 5 years. Maybe a bit far fetched...
-
FUCK OFF dont need supporters like you I think that might have been tongue-in-cheek. Hope so anyway

Makes the credit crunch stuff sound a bit ridiculous like. And has the City takeover even been finalised? Fit and proper persons test? Due diligence? Seems a bit early for them to be launching insane bids for all and sundry.
-
OK, the world has gone mad.
-
I'd be amazed if either Berbatov or Owen are City players by the end of today, especially Owen who I believe willl sign the new deal. They have the money I suppose, but to spend that much in the middle of a takeover? And Berbatov choosing City over Man Utd? No way...

Ignacio María González signed from Valencia on year-long loan deal

You're right, I hope he's rubbish. -
Because they've sold one of their best players?
-
I wish they'd make their minds up, is he going to Everton, Man City or Liverpool?

Fair article, exactly why we couldn't continue with the financial state we were in. Although to a certain extent those clubs owned by billionaires will always be OK, I mean the owners have enough money to finance the clubs indefinitely if they wanted. And economic downturns are never permanent. And for the fans, a lot of things will be sacrificed before the season ticket goes - even though we were disappointed with the Bolton attendance that's still a lot of people investing £30+ every week. And those that don't will mostly be paying a Sky subscription instead, ensuring another revenue stream for the premiership.

So Man City are buying Owen and Berbatov? I think not.
